DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0053] Embodiments of the present disclosure are generally related to chairs. More specifically, embodiments of the present disclosure relate to improved portable seating, including lightweight durable swivel chairs, or the like.
[0054] The present disclosure relates to the field of seating furniture, specifically a swivel chair with improved stability and portability. In accordance with exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, a chair incorporates a swivel function with a stop system, making it suitable for various outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and spectator events. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide lightweight, easy to assemble, easy to disassemble, space-saving, and durable seating solutions. The swivel chair may be designed for improved ductility, high strength, toughness, and resistance to fatigue. The swivel chair may comprise an improved swivel assembly that may allow the chair to be fully folded and lightweight. The swivel assembly may be designed for quick and easy set-up.
[0055] In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, a swivel chair with an improved swivel assembly may be designed to provide a smooth swivel action. The chair may be very durable and resistant to breaking. The swivel mechanisms in these chairs are designed to last long-term. As such, these chairs may have a relatively long useful lifetime when compared with other portable chairs. A swivel chair in accordance with exemplary embodiments may be compact and take up a small area to be placed and stored. They are also relatively light, which makes transportation of the chairs easy. For example, a swivel chair in accordance with exemplary embodiments may weigh less than 5 or 6 lbs. In one embodiment, the swivel chair may weigh 4 lbs. In some embodiments, the chair may weigh in the range of 3-5 lbs. In accordance with exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, a swivel chair may comprise a full folded structure that may save freight cost and be easy to store.
[0056] In accordance with exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, a swivel chair or at least portions of the swivel chair may comprise a relatively lightweight and sturdy material. For example, a chair or the swivel assembly may comprise alloy 7075, or the like. Alloy 7075 may comprise excellent mechanical properties and exhibit good ductility, high strength, toughness, and good resistance to fatigue, to name a few of the benefits. The seat portion of the chair may also comprise a sturdy and lightweight material. For example, the seat portion of the chair may comprise an abrasion-resistant ripstop polyester seat with a durable water repellent finish, or the like, adapted to resist moisture and stains. In addition to being sturdy and lightweight, in accordance with exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, a chair may be adapted to set up quickly and easily.
[0057] In accordance with exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the swivel chair may comprise a swivel stop. A swivel stop may be designed to stop the rotational movement of the chair about an axis through the swivel assembly. In this way, the chair may be fixed or substantially fixed at a certain angle of view, such as straight ahead in alignment with the legs or lower support frame of a swivel chair in accordance with exemplary embodiments. The swivel stop may function with the swivel assembly to restrict the swivel movement of the chair when in an engaged position. The direction the user faces while sitting in the chair may be fixed when the swivel stop is engaged. In some embodiments, when a stopper pin or plug of the swivel stop is pushed into a hole or opening, the swivel action of the swivel assembly is stopped. In order to release the swivel stop, the stopper plug may be pulled out and removed from the stopper plug opening, or the like, to release swivel function. The swivel stops may be at fixed positions around the chair. For example, every 15, 30, 45, 90, 180 degrees around the chair.
[0058] In accordance with exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the swivel chair may comprise a comfortable seat for camping, hiking, spectating, and/or the like. A swivel chair may be designed with a swivel function that may allow people to change different directions of view and enjoy a view of nature or help a hunter to aim at a target, to name a few benefits of the swivel function. In some embodiments, an swivel stop can fix the chair direction as the user desires.
[0059] A chair in accordance with exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure may comprise an upper portion for sitting and a lower portion or base support. The lower portion or base support may comprise three or four foldable support legs extending to a central swivel assembly. A chair component may be made of canvas, or the like, and may be supported by an upper support frame. The upper support frame may have upper support rods or support arms and may include two front support arms holding the front portion of the chair and two rear support arms. The front support arms may be shorter in length than the rear support arms and may support the front two corners of the chair. The canvas chair seat may be supported by the rear support arms and may extend to the upper back portion of the chair, or the like. When in use, the lower portion of the chair may remain substantially stable, supported by bottom support legs, or the like.
[0060] In some embodiments, the upper portion of the chair may swivel about an axis through a swivel assembly or center column. A swivel assembly may be disposed between upper and lower portions of the chair, providing support for the upper portion and connecting with the lower support system or base. The swivel assembly may include two solid sections with faces that run substantially parallel when the chair is assembled. The swivel assembly may enable rotation around a central axis.
[0061] Embodiments of the present disclosure may provide numerous benefits. For example, a chair may be lightweight, facilitating easy transportation, and reducing the burden on users. A chair in accordance with exemplary embodiments is designed for quick and effortless assembly and disassembly, allowing for convenient setup and storage. Its space-saving design occupies minimal storage room. Furthermore, a chair may utilize durable materials to enhance its longevity, ensuring it withstands rigorous usage.
[0062] The figures may label one component with a single reference number, even though more than one of a particular feature or element is present. This is to prevent obscuring the drawings with many additional reference numbers covering the equivalent components. For example, several lower support rods 132 are present in embodiments of the present disclosure, but only one has a reference number shown in the drawings, to remove additional labels from the drawings and make the depictions clearer. It is understood that any component mentioned herein may be duplicated and or removed and additional or less numbers of components are contemplated by and within embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0063] This disclosure presents an example swivel chair design with a lower base supporting an upper portion intended for seating. The lower base incorporates four curved support legs leading to a central swivel portion. The chair component is constructed from canvas and is upheld by four support arms, comprising two shorter front arms and two longer rear arms. The front support arms stabilize the front corners of the chair, while the canvas seat, supported by the rear arms, extends from the front to the upper back of the chair. The lower portion of the chair remains stable, supported by the bottom support legs, while the upper portion swivels about an axis on a single rotation point through a center column. A central axis support system connects the upper and lower portions, and a central swivel portion in the middle allows for rotation with a break between two sections. The benefits of this disclosure encompass its lightweight construction, ease of assembly and disassembly, and minimal storage space requirements.
[0064] During disassembly, the canvas portion of the chair can be removed from the upper support arms, which can be folded downward or entirely detached. The lower support legs can be moved upward and rotated, enabling the chair's support system to collapse for efficient storage. In some embodiments, the rear upper support arms are removable, facilitating compact storage.
[0065] This chair is designed to provide a comfortable seating solution for hiking, camping, and sports events. It features a swivel function with a stop system, ensuring a lightweight, easily assembled and disassembled structure that saves storage space. The chair's lightweight design is traveler-friendly, and its durability is ensured by a new swivel function, high-quality materials, and a full folded structure that saves on freight costs.
