Abstract
A foldable bed includes a bed frame unit that includes a first bed frame subunit and a second bed frame subunit, and that is foldable to a bed flat state, where the first bed frame subunit and the second bed frame subunit are arranged in a lengthwise direction. A backrest actuating mechanism includes a backrest connecting member and a backrest driving assembly. The backrest connecting member has a pivotal end and a connecting end. When the bed frame unit is in the bed flat state, the backrest actuating mechanism is operable to convert between a usage state, where a weight of the backrest driving assembly drives the connecting end to move away from the first bed frame, and a storage state, where the connecting end is adjacent to the first bed frame and the backrest driving assembly is moved closer to the backrest frame.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0020] Before the disclosure is described in greater detail, it should be noted that where considered appropriate, reference numerals or terminal portions of reference numerals have been repeated among the figures to indicate corresponding or analogous elements, which may optionally have similar characteristics.
[0021] It should be noted herein that for clarity of description, spatially relative terms such as top, bottom, upper, lower, on, above, over, downwardly, upwardly and the like may be used throughout the disclosure while making reference to the features as illustrated in the drawings. The features may be oriented differently (e.g., rotated 90 degrees or at other orientations) and the spatially relative terms used herein may be interpreted accordingly.
[0022] Referring to

However, the number of the outer bed legs 21 and the number of the intermediate bed legs 22 are not limited hereto.
[0024] Referring to
[0025] The first bed frame subunit 31 is switchable between a lying state (as shown in
[0026] The second bed frame subunit 32 includes a second bed frame 321 that is disposed on the support unit 2 and that is pivotally connected to the first bed frame subunit 31, a second fixing frame 324 that is mounted to the second bed frame 321, a leg frame 325 that is pivotally connected to the second fixing frame 324, and a foot frame 326 that is pivotally connected to the leg frame 325 and that is opposite to the second fixing frame 324. In this embodiment, when the bed frame unit 3 is in the bed flat state, the second bed frame subunit 32 is switchable between a flat state (as shown in
[0027] As shown in
[0028] As shown in
[0029] The driving unit 5 includes a backrest actuating mechanism 51 that is connected to the first bed frame subunit 31, and a leg frame actuating mechanism 52 that is connected to the second bed frame subunit 32.
[0030] Referring to
[0031] As shown in
[0032] The backrest connecting member 511 has a pivotal end 512 that is pivotally connected to the first fixed seat 313 of the first bed frame 311, a connecting end 513 that is opposite to the pivotal end 512, and an abutting portion 514 that is adjacent to the pivotal end 512. The backrest connecting member 511 is concave with a middle portion thereof being away from the first bed frame 311.
[0033] The backrest driving assembly 515 is pivotally connected between the backrest frame 315 and the connecting end 513 of the backrest connecting member 511. The backrest driving assembly 515 is operable for driving the backrest frame 315 to pivot relative to the first bed frame 311, thereby switching the first bed frame subunit 31 from the lying state to the supporting state. The backrest driving assembly 515 includes a backrest drive motor 516 that is pivotally connected to the connecting end 513 of the backrest connecting member 511, and a backrest drive rod 517 that telescopically extends from the backrest drive motor 516 and that is pivotally connected to the first pivot seat 317 of the backrest frame 315. The backrest driving assembly 515 has a gravity center that is located adjacent to the connecting end 513 of the backrest connecting member 511. For example, the backrest drive motor 516 is disposed closer to the connecting end 513 of the backrest connecting member 511 than the backrest drive rod 517.
[0034] When the bed frame unit 3 is in the bed flat state, the backrest actuating mechanism 51 is operable to convert between a usage state (as shown in
[0035] As shown in
[0036] As shown in
[0037] As shown in
[0038] As shown in
[0039] As shown in
[0040] The foldable bed of the disclosure has the following advantages.
[0041] 1. Because the backrest connecting member 511 is pivotally connected to the first bed frame 311, and because the backrest driving assembly 515 is pivotally connected between the backrest frame 315 and the backrest connecting member 511, when the bed frame unit 3 is in the bed flat state and the backrest actuating mechanism 51 is in the usage state, the weight of the backrest driving assembly 515 drives downward movement of the backrest driving assembly 515, such that the usage angle (1) defined by the backrest driving assembly 515 and the backrest frame 315 is enlarged to facilitate the backrest driving assembly 515 to drive pivoting movement of the backrest frame 315 relative to the first bed frame 311. When the bed frame unit 3 is in the bed folded state and the backrest actuating mechanism 51 is in the storage state, by virtue of the backrest driving assembly 515 being moved closer to the backrest frame 315, the storage angle (2) defined by the backrest driving assembly 515 and the backrest frame 315 is reduced, and the storage height (H2) of the backrest actuating mechanism 51 is effectively reduced. As a result, a dimension of the foldable bed may be effectively decreased to lower the transport cost, which is beneficial to network-based sale of the foldable bed.
[0042] 2. By virtue of the backrest connecting member 511 being designed to be concave, the backrest connecting member 511 may be prevented from interfering with other components when the backrest actuating mechanism 51 is in the storage state, and the backrest connecting member 511 may be prevented from interfering with backrest drive motor 516 when the backrest actuating mechanism 51 is in the usage state.
[0043] 3. By virtue of the gravity center of the backrest driving assembly 515 being located adjacent to the connecting end 513 of the backrest connecting member 511, the weight of the backrest driving assembly 515 may effectively drive the connecting end 513 of the backrest connecting member 511 to pivot downwardly away from the first bed frame 311.
[0044] 4. When the bed frame unit 3 is in the bed flat state and the backrest actuating mechanism 51 is in the usage state, abutment of the abutting portion 514 of the backrest connecting member 511 against the first bed frame 311 limits downward pivoting movement of the connecting end 513 of the backrest connecting member 511 away from the first bed frame 311, thereby supporting the backrest driving assembly 515 to drive the pivoting movement of the backrest frame 315 relative to the first bed frame 311.
[0045] 5. When the bed frame unit 3 is in the bed folded state and the backrest actuating mechanism 51 is in the storage state, because the backrest actuating mechanism 51 is disposed within a space defined by the first bed frame subunit 31 and the second bed frame subunit 32, the storage height (H2) of the backrest actuating mechanism 51 is limited between the first bed frame subunit 31 and the second bed frame subunit 32 so as to reduce the dimension of the foldable bed, thereby lowering the transport cost.
