DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0018] The innovation is now described with reference to the drawings, wherein like reference numerals are used to refer to like elements throughout. In the following description, for purposes of explanation, numerous specific details are set forth to provide a thorough understanding thereof. It may be evident, however, that the innovation can be practiced without these specific details. In other instances, well-known structures and devices are shown in block diagram form to facilitate a description thereof. Various embodiments are discussed hereinafter. It should be noted that the figures are described only to facilitate the description of the embodiments. They are not intended as an exhaustive description of the invention and do not limit the scope of the invention. Additionally, an illustrated embodiment need not have all the aspects or advantages shown. Thus, in other embodiments, any of the features described herein from different embodiments may be combined.
[0019] As noted above, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a device that keeps golf club grips clean and dry during use such that their function is not impeded by course conditions. In addition, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a portable golf club stand device. More specifically, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a portable golf club stand device that keeps golf club grips clean and dry during use such that their function is not impeded by course conditions by supporting the clubs in a vertical manner above the course ground surface. When the clubs are not in use.
[0020] The present invention, in one exemplary embodiment, is comprised of a portable golf club stand device. The device is comprised of a vertical member, one or more horizontal members, that are connected to the vertical member with a fastener, and one or more secondary vertical members which are fixedly connected to the horizontal member. The device is designed to be placed into the ground in a generally vertical position to allow the user to support one or more clubs without having to lay the club on the ground. The fastener may be used to store additional golf equipment.
[0021] More specifically the device is comprised of a vertical member, one or more horizontal members, and one or more secondary vertical members preferably made from metal, but can be of any material that provides enough rigidity to support the device and multiple clubs. Each member is preferably solid but may be hollow tubing of any profile.
[0022] In another embodiment, the device is comprised of a vertical member, one or more horizontal members, that are fixedly connected to the vertical member with a fastener, and one or more secondary vertical members which are fixedly connected to the horizontal member.
[0023] During use, the pointed end of the vertical shaft is placed into the ground, in a generally vertical position, the depth of insertion is to be deep enough to support the device and any clubs. Then, at least one club is rested against the horizontal members, while the user takes a shot. The user can then either switch clubs on the device or pick up the device entirely when finished.
[0024] Accordingly, the portable golf club stand device of the present invention is particularly advantageous as it provides a device that prevents dirt and debris from accumulating on a golf club. More specifically, the device allows the user to transport multiple clubs to a location and support them in a manner as to prevent debris from accumulating on the clubs. Furthermore, the device can be used for a variety of clubs and can be used to support other golf equipment. In this manner, the portable golf club stand device provides a solution to keeping dirt and moisture from coming into contact with a golf club grip.
[0025] Referring initially to the drawings,
[0026] In one embodiment, the horizontal member 130 is fixedly attached to the second end 124. In a different embodiment, the horizontal member 130 is removably attached to the second end 124 via at least one connector 140 of any style such as, but not limited to, a snap connector, a magnetic connector, etc. The connector 140 (or any other part of the device 100) may also be comprised of at least one fastener 150, such as, but not limited to, a hook surface, a loop surface, a magnet, etc., that may receive golf-related items such as, but not limited to, golf gloves, golf tees, golf balls, golf ball markers, etc.
[0027] At least one secondary vertical member 120 may fixedly or removably attach to the horizontal member 130. A vertical axis of the vertical member 120 preferably forms a 90-degree angle relative to a horizontal axis of the horizontal member 130, but may form any angle between 1 and 179 degrees relative to a horizontal axis of the horizontal member 130. This allows both members 130, 132 to secure a grip 12 of a golf club 10 within the device 100 in a generally vertical position, wherein the grip 12 and/or shaft of the club 10 rests on the horizontal member 130 and may be caught from falling onto a ground surface to the left and right sides by the secondary vertical members 132.
[0028] The present invention is also comprised of a method of using 200 the device 100, as seen in
