Abstract
This is a metal beverage container with a cylindrical body, the lower base being concave and the upper base being convex and having a tab at the uppermost portion thereof, fixed to a ring, and it also features a flange fitted snugly around the tab.
Claims
1. A metal container, made up of an approximately cylindrical wall (1) with a concave lower base (2) and a convex upper base (3) with, at its maximum, a tab (4) with a frangible perimeter and fixed to a ring, characterized by comprising a flange (6) fitted snugly around the tab (4).
2. The metal container according to claim 1, characterized in that the wall (1) has a neck (11) with a reducing diameter in the area close to the upper base (3).
3. The metal container according to claim 1, characterized in that the portion of the upper base (3) within the flange (6) is flat.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0016] Next, an embodiment of the invention will be briefly described as an illustrative, non-limiting example thereof.
[0017] In
[0018] Similar to the above-mentioned utility model, the can's opening tab (4) is located at the maximum of the upper base (3) and possesses an opening pull ring (5). The edge of the tab (4) is frangible along all or part of its perimeter to define the pouring aperture.
[0019] A flange 6 is arranged around the tab (4), useful both to increase the mechanical resistance and to serve as a pouring edge, in such a way that the indentation in the upper base (3) does not come into contact with the liquid. The portion of the upper base (3) within the flange (6) is preferably flat. The flange can be made similarly to the flange of each base (2, 3), i.e., by overlapping and folding the edges of each part. Thus, the upper base (3) is made in two pieces, one in the form of an annulus (31) between the wall (1) and the flange (6) and a circular one or the lid (32) where the aperture is defined (
[0020] As can be seen in the figures, the wall (1) is not cylindrical, but has a neck (11) with a reducing diameter in the area close to the upper base (3). The neck (11) is made by means of rollers prior to producing the can.
[0021] To open the can, the ring (5) is lifted, on the side opposite to its attachment to the tab (4), which allows the can to be ventilated. Subsequently, the ring (5) is pulled and the tab (4) breaks along its perimeter through a fracture or weakening line. The tab (4) and the ring (5) can be positioned on the other side of the flange (6). At this point, the liquid can be dispensed, not coming in contact with the outside of the can at any time and avoiding contamination. In particular, impurities built up at the junction of the upper base (3) and the wall (1) are prevented.
[0022] Furthermore, due to the definition of the annulus (31) and the lid (32), different materials can be used in each portion, leaving the high-performance material solely for the lid (32). For example, 5XXX series aluminum can be used for the lid (32) and 3XXX series aluminum for the remaining parts.
[0023] The force needed to open the lid (32) can be made using the ring (5) with a single movement and only one hand.
