DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0019] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
[0020] As best illustrated in
[0021] The housing 12 is elongated and includes a side wall 22 and two end walls 24. The chamber 18 is cylindrical and has a diameter substantially similar to a diameter of a standard pickleball. The cover assembly 20 includes a cap 26 removably attached to and forming one of the two end walls 24. The cap 26 is attachable to the side wall 22 by friction fit or screw threads or similar. The cover assembly 20 also includes a slidable door 28 forming a portion of the side wall 22, wherein the slidable door 28 is slidable in a telescoping manner into and out of an adjacent portion of the side wall 22. The cover assembly 20 can include only the cap 26, only the slidable door 28, or both the cap 26 and the slidable door 28 as shown in
[0022] As shown in
[0023] The heating assembly 14 includes a plurality of radiant heating elements 34. The heating elements 34 are in the form of coils surrounding the chamber 18, or possibly elongated wires running along the length of the chamber 18.
[0024] The power source 16 includes a rechargeable battery 36 and a charging port or power port 38, as well as a switch 40 positioned on an exterior surface of the housing 12 to turn the power source 16 on and off.
[0025]
[0026] The pickleball warming device 10 is used when playing pickleball in colder temperatures. Cold or colder temperatures can make a pickleball brittle and susceptible to cracking or breaking during play. In order to minimize or prevent such damage, the user inserts one or more pickleballs 70 into the chamber 18. The user can access the chamber 18 by removing the cap 26 or sliding the slidable door 28, depending on the design of the housing 12. In the embodiment shown in
[0027] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0028] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word comprising is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article a does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
