SNAP BAND CHARM ASSEMBLY

Abstract

A band assembly includes a wristband having a plurality of apertures and a charm in communication with the plurality of apertures of the wristband. The is configured to pass through at least one of the plurality of apertures. The charm includes a speaker and an electronics board in communication with each other to emit a sound. Additionally, the charm includes a light and a switch. The switch regulates performance of the sound and the light. The charm is configured to be releasably pressed into the plurality of apertures.

Claims

1. A band assembly, comprising: a wristband having a plurality of apertures; and a charm configured to pass through at least one of the plurality of apertures; wherein the charm is configured to be pressed into the at least of the plurality of apertures.

2. The assembly of claim 1, wherein the charm includes a band pin protruding outward and a locking mechanism, the locking mechanism to pass through the at least one of the plurality of apertures.

3. The assembly of claim 2, wherein the band pin remains within the at least one of the plurality of apertures.

4. The assembly of claim 1, wherein the charm is located on an outer surface of the wristband.

5. The assembly of claim 1, further comprising: an electronic device coupled to the wristband.

6. The assembly of claim 5, wherein the electronic device is a watch, the wristband configured to couple to the watch.

7. The assembly of claim 5, further comprising: a buckle coupled to the wristband.

8. The assembly of claim 1, further comprising: a buckle coupled to the wristband.

9. The assembly of claim 1, wherein the charm is configured to create at least one of a sound, light, and movement.

10. The assembly of claim 1, wherein the charm includes a diffuser, a speaker, and an electronics board in communication with each other to emit a sound.

11. The assembly of claim 10, wherein the charm further includes a switch to regulate the sound.

12. The assembly of claim 10, wherein the charm further includes a light in communication with the electronics board.

13. The assembly of claim 12, wherein the charm further includes a switch to regulate the sound and the light.

14. A band assembly, comprising: a wristband having a plurality of apertures; and a charm configured to pass through at least one of the plurality of apertures, the charm including: a speaker and an electronics board in communication with each other to emit a sound; a light in communication with the electronics board and configured to selectively illuminate a light; and a switch in communication with the electronics board to regulate the sound and the light from the charm; wherein the charm is configured to be pressed into the at least of the plurality of apertures.

15. The assembly of claim 14, wherein the charm includes a band pin protruding outward and a locking mechanism, the locking mechanism to pass through the at least one of the plurality of apertures.

16. The assembly of claim 15, wherein the band pin remains within the at least one of the plurality of apertures.

17. The assembly of claim 14, wherein the charm is located on an outer surface of the wristband.

18. The assembly of claim 14, further comprising: an electronic device coupled to the wristband.

19. The assembly of claim 18, wherein the electronic device is a watch.

20. The assembly of claim 18, further comprising: a buckle coupled to the wristband.

[0021] The snap band charm assembly of the present application is configured to permit a user to customize and express oneself by incorporating one or more charms on a band, such as a watch or wrist band. The assembly is configured to operate with any wristband such as those associated with smartwatches or other types of watches.

[0022] Referring now to FIG. 1-2 in the drawings, views of snap band charm assembly 101 are illustrated. In FIG. 1, assembly 101 includes a charm 105 and optional wristband 103. The term wristband is understood to include a wristband with or without a watch or smart watch. It may be considered a generalized term for a wrist worn band capable of interacting with optional electronic devices such as watches. As seen in FIG. 1 of the drawings, wristband 103 is shown with the use of watch 102 as wristband 103a while FIG. 2 illustrates assembly 101 wherein wristband 103 is shown without the use of watch 102 as wristband 103b. Wristbands 103a and 103b are equally applicable and usable within assembly 101. It is understood that other designs and styles of wristband 103 may be used within assembly 101 that are not herein depicted. The precise style, size, and material of wristband 103 may be varied within assembly 101.

[0023] Wristband 103 is configured to include a plurality of apertures 107 located along the length of wristband 103. Aperture is 107 are configured to secure and locate charms 105 onto wristband 103. It is understood that charms 105 are configured to reside on an outer surface of wristband 103. The outer surface 106 of wristband 103 being defined as the surface of wristband 103 opposite the surface in contact with the user. Aperture is 107 are configured to pass wholly through wristband 103. It is desired that typically charms 105 may be located so as to reside on the sides or top of a user's wrist when worn. [0024] In embodiments where wristband 103 does not include a watch 102, it is understood that wristband 103 may serve merely as a charm bracelet such that charms 105 are selectively located thereon. Wristband 103 may be available in various colors, such colors may coordinate with charms 105.

[0025] Referring now also to FIG. 3 in the drawings, and enlarged side view of charm 105 is illustrated. Charms 105 are configured to include a through the band pin 111 with a locking mechanism 113 on the back side. Reference to the back side of wristband 103 would include the internal or portion adjacent to the users skin when worn. Charms 105 ideally include a plurality of pins 111 so as to prevent undesired rotation of the charm relative to wristband 103. Is understood that the spacing of pins 111 may match that of the spacing scene in conventional wristbands for watches. This would allow charms 105 to be located at any location around wristband 103. Pins 111 include a tip 113 that has a larger radius then pin shaft 115. When pressed into aperture 107, tip 113 passes through onto the internal surface of wristband 103. Aperture 107 is sized to be of similar size to that of shaft 115. Charms 105 are configured to be pressed into apertures 107 until properly seated by pins 111.

[0026] It is possible that charms 105 may take the form of various different designs including those such as sports logos, helmet profiles for specific teams, sports organizations, trademarks or logos of entities, schools, corporate and private organizations, or any other shape. It is also understood that pins 111 may include a magnet to assist in securing charm 105 to wristband 103.

[0027] Referring now to FIG. 4 in the drawings, an exploded view of charms 105 is illustrated. In this illustrated example, charms 105 takes the shape of a helmet from a professional sports team. It is understood that this design is not limiting to charms 105 and merely serves as an example only. Charms 105 may include technology to facilitate illumination, sounds, and even movement in some designs. As illustrated, charm 105 includes a cover 117, a diffuser 119, an electronics board 125, and a base 129. A battery 121 is seated within, and in communication with, board 125. One or more lights 123 are in communication with board 125 and are configured to illuminate through diffuser 119 onto cover 117. Board 125 may be programmed to regulate different operations, such as movement of an object, lighting, sounds, and utilize one or more sensors in such process. Base 129 is configured to nestle into and secure to a portion of cover 117. Charm 105 may also include a switch 127. Switch 127 may perform one or more functions such as turning charm 105 on and off. It is understood that one or more switches may be incorporated into charm 105. Charm 105 may include some or all of these elements described above. Other elements such as microphones, speakers, sensors, and movable apparatuses may also be included as desired.
