MOUNTABLE BACK SCRUBBING DEVICE

Abstract

A mountable back scrubbing device comprising a base where the base comprises a top surface and a bottom surface; a dispenser coupled to the top surface of the base; a reservoir within the dispenser, where the reservoir receives a liquid soap; a series of veins arranged within the dispenser, where the set of veins include a series of channels to distribute the liquid soap throughout the dispenser; a plurality of vein openings along the series of veins, where the plurality of vein openings extrude the liquid soap; a plurality of nubs on a surface of the dispenser, where the plurality of nubs each include a nub opening to extrude the liquid soap; and a mounting mat on the bottom surface of the base, where the mounting mat secures the mountable back scrubbing device against a flat surface.

Claims

1. A mountable back scrubbing device comprising: a base where the base comprises a top surface and a bottom surface; a dispenser coupled to the top surface of the base; a frame coupled with the dispenser, where the frame provides structural support to the base; a reservoir within the dispenser, where the reservoir receives a liquid soap; a series of veins arranged within the dispenser, where the set of veins include a series of channels to distribute the liquid soap throughout the dispenser; a plurality of vein openings along the series of veins, where the plurality of vein openings extrude the liquid soap; a plurality of nubs on a surface of the dispenser, where the plurality of nubs each include a nub opening to extrude the liquid soap; and a mounting mat on the bottom surface of the base, where the mounting mat secures the mountable back scrubbing device against a flat surface.

2. The mountable back scrubbing device of claim 1, wherein the series of veins includes a central vein, where the central vein provides an anchor location to distribute the liquid soap into the series of veins.

3. The mountable back scrubbing device of claim 2, the central vein branches into a plurality of lateral veins, where the central vein and the plurality of lateral veins extend throughout the dispenser.

4. The mountable back scrubbing device of claim 2, wherein the central vein and the frame comprise a textured surface.

5. The mountable back scrubbing device of claim 2, wherein the central vein extends from a top end of the base to a bottom end of the base.

6. The mountable back scrubbing device of claim 5, wherein at each end of the central vein where the central vein meets the frame is a pair of buttons, where the pair of buttons activate dispensing the liquid soap through the central vein, the lateral veins and through the plurality of nubs.

7. The mountable back scrubbing device of claim 1, wherein the mountable back scrubbing device comprises a first size, where the first size is large enough to accommodate fitting across a user's back.

8. The mountable back scrubbing device of claim 1, wherein the mountable back scrubbing device comprises a second size, where the second size fits within a user's hand

9. The mountable back scrubbing device of claim 1, wherein the mounting mat is covered in a plurality of suction cups.

10. The mountable back scrubbing device of claim 9, wherein the mounting mat and the plurality of suction cups are made from a rubberized material.

11. The mountable back scrubbing device of claim 1, wherein the reservoir is positioned within the base.

12. The mountable back scrubbing device of claim 1, wherein the reservoir is accessed through the bottom surface of the base.

13. The mountable back scrubbing device of claim 1, wherein the reservoir includes an opening, where the opening includes a cap.

14. The mountable back scrubbing device of claim 1, wherein the reservoir includes two compartments.

15. The mountable back scrubbing device of claim 1, wherein the mountable back scrubbing device folds upon itself into a folded position.

16. The mountable back scrubbing device of claim 15, wherein the mountable back scrubbing device folds on a hinge, where the hinge is coupled against the bottom surface of the base.

17. A method of use for a mountable back scrubbing device comprising the steps of: filling a reservoir within a dispenser with a liquid soap, where the dispenser is coupled to a base; mounting the base against a flat surface; and dispensing the liquid soap through the dispenser onto a surface of the dispenser, where the liquid soap is extruded through a plurality of holes along a series of veins within the dispenser and through a plurality of nubs on the surface of the dispenser, where each nub includes a nub opening.

18. The method of use for the mountable back scrubbing device of claim 17, further comprising the step of dispensing the liquid soap by pressing a button coupled to the dispenser.

19. The method of use for the mountable back scrubbing device of claim 17, further comprising the step of grasping the mountable back scrubbing device within a user's hand for use.

20. A mountable back scrubbing device to dispense a liquid soap, where the mountable back scrubbing device comprises: a base where the base comprises a top surface and a bottom surface; a dispenser coupled to the top surface of the base, where the dispenser comprises; a frame coupled with the dispenser, where the frame provides structural support to the base; a central vein within a central portion of the mountable back scrubbing device, extending between a top edge to a bottom edge of the base; and a plurality of lateral veins branching from the central vein, where the central vein and the plurality of lateral veins dispense the liquid soap from the dispenser; a reservoir within the dispenser, where the reservoir receives the liquid soap; a plurality of vein openings along the central vein and along the plurality of lateral veins, where the plurality of vein openings extrude the liquid soap; a plurality of nubs on a surface of the dispenser, where the plurality of nubs each includes a nub opening to extrude the liquid soap; and a mounting mat on the bottom surface of the base, where the mounting mat secures the mountable back scrubbing device against a flat surface.

[0063] Shown throughout the figures, the present invention is directed generally to a back scrubbing device, and more particularly, to a back scrubbing device which includes a means to attach the back scrubbing device to a surface, and a dispensing frame to dispense liquid soap onto a scrubbing surface of the back scrubbing device.

[0064] Referring initially to FIGS. 1 and 2, a mountable back scrubbing device 100 is shown in accordance with the present invention. The mountable back scrubbing device 100 may comprise a base 110 where the base includes a pair of edges, a top edge 102 and a bottom edge 103, a pair of sides 104a, 104b, a top surface 106, and a bottom surface 108. A long the top surface 106 of the base 110 may be a textured layer 112. The textured layer 112 may cover the entire top surface 106 of the base 110. The base 110 may generally comprise a rectangular shape. Alternatively, the base 110 shape may be a circle, square, triangle, or other geometric shape, or it may be a fanciful shape like a sporting team logo, floral, animal, celestial, animal and the like.

[0065] The base 110 may be made of a lightweight, and durable material able to withstand the environment within a shower or bathroom. The base 110 must withstand repeated pressures, water, humidity and movement while maintaining structure. A treated plastic, treated to prevent mold or bacteria growth during use would be an ideal material, but other plastics, rubbers and the similar materials are considered.

[0066] Coupled atop the top surface 106 of the base may be a dispenser 120. The dispenser 120 may be comprised of a central vein 122, a frame 124, and a plurality of lateral veins 126. The central vein 122 may traverse a central portion of the mountable back scrubbing device 100, wherein the central vein 122 extends from the top edge 102 to the bottom edge 103 of the base 110. The central vein 122 may be an anchor location wherein the lateral veins 126 extend like fingers from the central vein 122 onto other surface areas of the dispenser 120. The central vein 122 and the lateral veins 126 may be hollow to receive and dispense a liquid soap. The frame 124 may anchor and support the central vein 122 and the lateral veins 126 against the textured layer 112 of the base 110. The central vein 122, frame 124 and lateral veins 126 may comprised a textured surface for additional scrubbing surfaces.

[0067] The frame 124 may provide the structural support to the base 110, where the frame 124 extends and follow around a peripheral portion of the base 110, complimenting the same shape as the base 110. In the present embodiment the base 110 and frame 124 are shaped as a rectangle but as described above alternative shaped may be created. Accordingly, the lateral veins 126 may compliment the shape of the frame 124 to create smaller, concentric shapes to the frame 124 and thereby the base 110. Presently, three sets of lateral veins are illustrated as concentric rectangles, but more or less veins may be created depending on the size and dimension of the mountable back scrubbing device 100.

[0068] Covering a surface 114 of the dispenser 120 may be a plurality of nubs 134. As will be better illustrated in reference to FIG. 3, the nubs 134 may be hollow and have an opening to dispense the liquid soap from within the dispenser 120 onto the surface 114 of the dispenser 120. The plurality of nubs 134 may be arranged to completely cover the surface 114 between the frame 124, the central vein 122 and the lateral veins 126. At each end of the central vein 122 where the central vein 122 meets the frame 124 may be a pair of buttons 128. The buttons 128 may activate dispensing the liquid soap through the central vein 122, the lateral veins 126 and through the nubs 134.

[0069] The mountable back scrubbing device 100 includes a midline 140 that separates the device 100 from a first half 142 and a second half 144. The base 110 and the dispenser 120 may fold along the midline 140 to rest the first half 142 atop the second half 144 thereby creating a folded position which is illustrated in FIG. 8.

[0070] Referring to FIG. 3, an enlarged view of the mountable back scrubbing device 100 is shown. FIG. 3 provides an enlarged view of the dispenser 120 along a corner to illustrate the details of the design. The frame 124 is positioned around the edge of the base 110. The lateral vein 126 may include a channel 130 where the channel 130 is positioned within each lateral vein 126. The channel 130 may originate at the central vein 122 and provide the opening through which the liquid soap flows into and through the lateral veins 126.

[0071] A long the lateral veins 126 may be a plurality of vein openings 132 which are coupled to the channels 130. The liquid soap is extruded from within the lateral vein 126 onto the surface 114 of the dispenser 120. The plurality of nubs 134 may each include a nub opening 136. The nub opening 136 may dispense the liquid soap from within the dispenser 120 onto the surface 114 through the plurality of nubs 134. The vein openings 132 and the nub openings 136 may be made from a rubberized material to prevent leaking of water or soap when not in use. The buttons 128 at each end of the central vein 122 may dispense the liquid soap during use. The buttons 128 may provide a pressure within the dispenser 120 to allow a small amount of the liquid soap to pass through the vein openings 132 and the nub openings 136.

[0072] Referring to FIGS. 4, 5 and 6, the mountable back scrubbing device 100 is shown in accordance with the present invention. The bottom surface 108 of the base 110 may be covered with a mounting mat 150. The mounting mat 150 may inlaid into the bottom surface 108 of the base 110. The mounting pad 150 may be covered with a plurality of suction cups 152, where the suction cups 152 may completely cover the mounting mat 150. The mounting mat 150 and the suction cups 152 may be a rubberized material for flexible and durable movement and adequate suction against a flat surface.

[0073] The dispenser may include a reservoir 154 where the reservoir 154 is positioned in a middle portion of the mounting mat 150, and within an opening 158 in the bottom surface 108 of the base 110. The opening 158 within the bottom surface 108 may provide an access point for the reservoir 154. The liquid soap is contained within the reservoir 154 to then distribute through the central vein, lateral veins, and nubs during use. The reservoir 154 may include at least one fill cap 156 to cover an opening into the reservoir 154 whereby the liquid soap is refilled.

[0074] The bottom surface 108 of the base 110 may include a hinge 116 along the midline of the base 110. The hinge 116 may allow the mountable back scrubbing device 100 to fold upon itself. The mounting mat 150 may be flush within the bottom surface 108. Similarly, the reservoir 154 may be flush within the bottom surface 108 and the mounting mat 150 where when the mountable back scrubbing device 100 is folded the mounting mat 150 and the reservoir 154 to do impede folding. The reservoir 154 may be split into two compartments on each side of the midline to allow easier folding and prevent damage or leaking when in the folded position.

The expanded view provides an illustrative view of how the plurality of nubs 134 are positioned within the top surface 114 of the dispenser 120. Accordingly, the dispenser 120 is coupled to the base 110 but presently separated to better illustrate the layered design. An opening 118 in the base 110 may be positioned directly beneath the reservoir within the dispenser 120 to receive the reservoir and provide a location for the reservoir to rest.

[0076] Finally, referring to FIG. 8, a perspective view of the mountable back scrubbing device 100 is shown in a folded position in accordance with the present invention. The mountable back scrubbing device 100 folds along the midline 140 to expose a midline edge 146. The first half 142 rests atop the second half 144 to create the folded position. The folded position may enable easier transport and storage of the mountable back scrubbing device 100.

[0077] During use a user fills the reservoir with a liquid soap through the reservoir opening. Once filled, the reservoir fill cap may be placed atop the reservoir opening. The reservoir fill cap may be a stopper, snap, or screw type cap. The liquid soap then naturally flows through the central vein, and the channels of the lateral veins to distribute the liquid soap throughout the dispenser. Next, the mountable back scrubbing device may be secured to a flat surface with the mounting mat wherein the surface of the dispenser faces away from the flat surface. To dispense the liquid soap, the button may be pressed and a small amount of the liquid soap extrudes through the vein openings and the nub openings. The liquid soap gets onto the top surface of the mountable back scrubbing device to lather the liquid soap for use. The user may press their body, specifically their backs, against the mountable back scrubbing device to use the nubs as a scrubber. After use and rinsing, the mountable back scrubbing device is removed from the flat surface, and then folded along the midline via the hinge. The mountable back scrubbing device folds so that the nubs are on the outside when in the folded position, thereby allowing the surface to dry and preventing damage to the reservoir within the base.

[0078] The sizing of the mountable back scrubbing device may vary depending on preferred use of the user. The mountable back scrubbing device may be embodied in a first size where the first size is large enough to accommodate fitting across the user's back. In this embodiment, the mountable back scrubbing device may easily reach multiple parts of the user's back at once without large movements by the user to scrub. The dimensions of the first size may range from 8-12 inches in width and 10-18 inches in length.

[0079] Accordingly, a second size may be available where the mountable back scrubbing device may fit within a user's hand. This would allow a user to manually scrub their body therefore providing options of how they use the mountable back scrubbing device. Additionally, with the second size the mountable back scrubbing device may be secured to the ground to allow the user to scrub their feet with a smaller embodiment of the mountable back scrubbing device. The dimensions of the second size may range from 4-8 inches in width and 4-10 inches in length.
