[0022] The various embodiments of the present invention will hereinafter be described in conjunction with the appended drawings, wherein like designations denote like elements.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0023] As discussed above, embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a rotatable storage structure. Generally, a bed with movable racks/cabinets is disclosed herein. Particularly, two rack/cabinets may be located on each side of the bed at the head bedposts (one on each side) and each is able to be rotated around the head bedpost it is attached to.
[0024] Referring now more specifically to the drawings by numerals of reference, there is shown in
[0025] Referring first to
[0026] Further, in some embodiments, the housing 110 may include a plurality of shelves 119 disposed within the interior of the housing 110 for storing and displaying the items therein. For example, the plurality of shelves 119 may include (but are not limited to) three shelves 119. In some embodiments, the shelves 119 may be equally spaced apart within the interior.
[0027] In other embodiments, the shelves 119 may include varying spaces therebetween. For example, there may be a larger space between the top 111 of the housing 110 and a top shelf 119 a of the plurality of shelves 119, than a space between a bottom shelf 119 b and the bottom 112 of the housing 110, thereby enabling taller items to be placed on the top shelf 119 a. In some embodiments, the shelves 119 may be removable to enable adjustment of the space between the shelves 119.
[0028] As shown in
[0029] As shown in these figures, the front 113 of the housing 110 may be open, exposing the interior of the housing 110, enabling easy access to items therefrom and enabling display of the items. It should however be appreciated that the front 113 of the housing 110 is not limited to being open. It should also be appreciated that the housing 110 is not limited to including shelves 119. For example, the housing 110 may include (but is not limited to) a cabinet, a set of drawers, etc.
[0030] At least one fastener 120 may be attached to one of the pair of sides 115, 116 of the housing 110 and configured to attach the housing 110 to the bedpost 109, as shown in
[0031] Further, as also shown here, the at least one fastener 120 may include a hinge 121 having a cylindrical body comprising a central elongated opening 122 extending from a top of the hinge 121 to a bottom of the hinge 121 and configured to receive a bedpost 109 (of a headboard or bed frame) therein, thereby attaching the housing 110 to the bedpost 109. In some embodiments, the hinge 121 may fully circumscribe the bedpost 109 to secure it therein.
[0032] As above, the rotatable storage structure(s) 100 may, in some embodiments, be configured to attach to any existing bedpost 109. As such, in some embodiments the fastener 120 may comprise a means of enabling attachment to the bedpost 109. For example, the fastener 120 may snap onto the bedpost 109, may slide onto the bedpost 109, may clamp onto the bedpost 109, etc.
[0033] As shown particularly in
[0034] As shown here, the hinge 121 may include a first portion 126 that is secured to the bedpost 109 and prevented from rotational movement; and a second portion 127 that is able to rotate relative to the first portion 127 and cause rotational movement of the housing 110. It should however be appreciated that this means of rotational movement is provided as an example and the hinge 121 is not limited to this configuration.
[0035] Referring now also to
[0036] As shown most particularly in
[0037] As shown in
[0038] As further shown in
[0039] At least one support section may be attached to and extending downwardly from the mattress frame 134 to support the bed frame 131 on a floor. For example, as shown here, the at least one support section may include a plurality of legs 135. The plurality of legs 135 may include (but are not limited to) a total of six legs 135, with a leg 135 located at each corner of the mattress frame 134, and another two legs 135 each located at a central location on the pair of side bars 143, 144, totaling three legs 135 per side of the bed frame 131. It should be appreciated that the invention is not limited to this particular number of legs 135, nor is the invention limited to including legs 135.
[0040] As shown here, the bed frame 131 may include a first bedpost 133 a at a first side of the head end 137 of the bed frame 131; and a second bedpost 133 b at a second side of the head end 137 of the bed frame 131. In some embodiments, the bedposts 133 a, 133 b may be integral to a headboard 132 of the bed frame 131. As shown in
[0041] In other embodiments, as discussed above and shown in
[0042] It should be appreciated that the bed frame, the bedposts and/or the headboard illustrated in
[0043] It should also be noted that, under appropriate circumstances, considering such issues as design preference, user preferences, marketing preferences, cost, structural requirements, available materials, technological advances, etc., other structural elements are method of use are taught herein.
