    DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0025] In order to further describe the technical solutions of the invention, the invention will be explained in detail below according to specific embodiments. Referring to FIGS. 1 to 10, the invention discloses a manually opened and automatically closing umbrella including a multi-section middle rod 1, an upper nest 2, a lower nest 3, a head 4, a foldable rib member 5 (multiple ones may be provided) and an umbrella-closing assembly 6. The multi-section middle rod 1 includes at least three sticks 101 (lowest, middle and topmost sticks) sequentially telescoping from top to bottom, a sidewall of the lowest stick 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1 is formed with a longitudinal hole 11, a sidewall of the middle stick 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1 or a sidewall of the topmost stick 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1 is formed with a retaining hole 12. The upper nest 2 and the head 4 respectively fit with an upper end and a lower end of the multi-section middle rod 1. The lower nest 3 movably telescopes the multi-section middle rod 1. The foldable rib member 5 is pivotally connected to the upper nest 2 and the lower nest 3. The foldable rib member 5 has a retracting spring 51. The umbrella-closing assembly 6 includes a fixed pulley 61, an umbrella retracting cord 62, an elastic fastener 63, a pull sleeve 64, a connector 65 and a linking cord 66. The fixed pulley 61 rotatably fits with the upper nest 2; an outer end of the umbrella retracting cord 62 goes around the fixed pulley 61 and fits with the lower nest 3, an inner end of the umbrella retracting cord 62 goes and is fixed into the multi-section middle rod 1. The elastic fastener 63 fits into the multi-section middle rod 1 and is connected to one of the sticks 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1. The elastic fastener 63 movably snaps into the retaining hole 12. The pull sleeve 64 movably telescopes outside the lowest stick 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1.

[0026] The connector 65 passes through the longitudinal hole 11 of the multi-section middle rod 1. An outer end of the connector 65 is connected to the pull sleeve 64. An inner end of the connector 65 is connected to one end of the linking cord 66.

[0027] The other end of the linking cord 66 is connected to the elastic fastener 63. In the multi-section middle rod 1, one or each of multiple ones of the sticks 101 exclusive of the stick 101 formed with the retaining hole 12 and the stick 101 fitting into the elastic fastener 63 movably snaps with an adjacent one of the sticks 101 through an elastic snap 102 to guarantee that the multi-section middle rod 1 can be deployed (opened) and positioned. When the manually opened and automatically closing umbrella of the invention is in a fully retracted state, the elastic fastener 63 unsnaps from the retaining hole 12, all the sticks 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1 are fully retracted and the foldable rib member 5 is fully retracted, and the pull sleeve 64 is accommodated within the head 4. When the manually opened and automatically closing umbrella of the invention is in the fully deployed state, all the sticks 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1 are fully deployed, the foldable rib member 5 is fully deployed, and the elastic fastener 63 snaps with the retaining hole 12.

[0028] The working principle of the invention will be described in the followings. When the umbrella of the invention is deployed or opened, the user pushes the lower nest 3 upwards, so that the multi-section middle rod 1 and the foldable rib member 5 are fully deployed.

[0029] When the lower nest 3 is pushed upwards to a predetermined position, the elastic fastener 63 snaps with the retaining hole 12 of the multi-section middle rod 1 under its own elasticity, so that the manually opened and automatically closing umbrella of the invention is kept in the fully deployed state. At this time, the linking cord 66 is in tension. When the umbrella of the invention is retracted, the user pulls the pull sleeve 64 downwards so that the pull sleeve 64 moves the linking cord 66 downwards through the connector 65, the linking cord 66 pulls the elastic fastener 63 to deform, and the elastic fastener 63 unsnaps from the retaining hole 12 of the multi-section middle rod 1. Thereafter, under the action of the retracting spring 51, the foldable rib member 5 is retracted so that the lower nest 3 moves downwards, and the lower nest 3 moves downwards so that the umbrella retracting cord 62 pulls the multi-section middle rod 1 to automatically perform partial retraction. At this time, the linking cord 66 becomes loose, and the manually opened and automatically closing umbrella of the invention is in the semi-retracted state. Because the retaining hole 12 is formed on the middle stick 101 or the topmost stick 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1, the lowest stick 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1 cannot be retracted when the pull sleeve 64 is pulled downward to make the multi-section middle rod 1 automatically perform the partial retraction. Such the configuration can prevent the foldable rib member 5 from hitting the user's hand when the umbrella is retracted, thereby improving the user experience. After the manually opened and automatically closing umbrella of the invention enters the semi-retracted state, the user can exert forces on the upper nest 2 and the head 4 so that the multi-section middle rod 1 is fully retracted, and the manually opened and automatically closing umbrella of the invention is in the fully retracted state. Because the manually opened and automatically closing umbrella of the invention is in the fully retracted state, the pull sleeve 64 is accommodated within the head 4, so that the multi-section middle rod 1 can be retracted as possible as it can, and it is advantageous to shortening of a retracted length of the multi-section middle rod 1, and thus to the small size of the invention when the umbrella is fully retracted.

[0030] In order to further explain the technical solution of the invention, the invention will be described in detail below with reference to specific embodiments.

    First Embodiment

[0031] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 4 showing the first embodiment of the invention, the multi-section middle rod 1 is a three-section middle rod 1, apertures of the sticks 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1 are sequentially increased from top to bottom, the retaining hole 12 of the multi-section middle rod 1 is disposed on an upper portion of the second (counted from top to bottom) section of stick 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1, and the elastic fastener 63 is mounted on a lower portion of the first (counted from top to bottom) section of stick 101 (i.e., the topmost stick 101) of the multi-section middle rod 1. In this way, when the pull sleeve 64 is pulled downwards so that the multi-section middle rod 1 automatically performs the partial retraction, the two upper sections of sticks 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1 are retracted. The foldable rib member 5 is a corresponding three-fold umbrella rib member. In the first embodiment of the invention, a top end of the elastic fastener 63 is provided with a mounting part 631 connected to one stick 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1, a bottom end of the elastic fastener 63 is provided with a connection part 632 connected to the linking cord 66, a middle portion of the elastic fastener 63 is provided with a curved bending part 634 so that the elastic fastener 63 can deform. The elastic fastener 63 is further provided with a snapping part 633 lower than the bending part 634. The snapping part 633 movably snaps into the retaining hole 12. When the umbrella of the invention is retracted, the linking cord pulls the elastic fastener 63 so that the bending part 634 of the elastic fastener 63 deforms, and the snapping part 633 of the elastic fastener 63 shifts so that the snapping part 633 unsnaps from the retaining hole 12. The linking cord may be knotted with the connection part 632, and the linking cord may also be connected with a hook connector 67 hooking the connection part 632. An inserting connection may be formed between the mounting part 631 and the stick 101.

[0032] In the first embodiment of the invention, a positioning connector 7 may fit into the middle stick 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1, and the inner end of the umbrella retracting cord 62 is connected to the positioning connector 7 to mount the inner end of the umbrella retracting cord 62 into the multi-section middle rod 1. Specifically, the positioning connector 7 is mounted to the lower portion of the second (counted from top to bottom) section of stick 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1, the positioning connector 7 has a hollow structure through which the linking cord 66 can pass. The outer end of the umbrella retracting cord 62 is connected to the lower nest 3, so that the umbrella retracting cord 62 drives the middle rod 1 to perform the partial retraction when the lower nest 3 moves downwards.

[0033] In the first embodiment of the invention, the linking cord 66 has at least two knots 661. The knot 661 can prevent the linking cord 66 from escaping from the longitudinal hole 11 of the multi-section middle rod 1. The linking cord 66 may be knotted with the connector 65, and the outer end of the connector 65 is formed with a connection hooking part 651 hooking the pull sleeve 64, and the connection between the connector 65 and the pull sleeve 64 is simple.

[0034] In the first embodiment of the invention, a sidewall of the head 4 is formed with an operation notch 41 to provide an operation space for a person who pulls the pull sleeve 64 downwards. When the manually opened and automatically closing umbrella of the invention is in the fully deployed state, the pull sleeve 64 is accommodated within the head 4 and disposed opposite the operation notch 41. The invention is configured such that the multi-section middle rod 1 can be retracted as possible as it can, so that it is advantageous to the shortening of the retracted length of the multi-section middle rod 1, and to the small size of the invention when the umbrella is fully retracted. In addition, when the manually opened and automatically closing umbrella of the invention is in a fully retracted state, the lower nest 3 is inserted into the head 4. Such the configuration also makes the multi-section middle rod 1 be retracted as possible as it can, so that it is advantageous to the shortening of the retracted length of the multi-section middle rod 1, and to the small size of the invention when the umbrella is fully retracted. When the lower nest 3 is inserted into the head 4, an inserting connection may be formed between the lower portion of the lower nest 3 and the pull sleeve 64. Such the configuration is further beneficial to that the multi-section middle rod 1 can be retracted as possible as it can.

    Second Embodiment

[0035] Referring to FIG. 5, the difference between the second and first embodiments of the invention resides in the elastic fastener 63. Specifically, in the second embodiment of the invention, the elastic fastener 63 has a mounting body 6301 and a snapping body 6302 connected together in a curved manner so that the elastic fastener 63 has the elasticity. The mounting body 6301 has a mounting part 631 connected to one of the sticks 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1, the snapping body 6302 is provided with a snapping part 633 movably snapping into the retaining hole 12, and a connection part 632 connected to the linking cord 66.

[0036] The linking cord may be knotted with the connection part 632, and the linking cord may also be connected with a hook connector 67 hooking the connection part 632. An inserting connection may be formed between the mounting part 631 and the stick 101.

[0037] In the second embodiment of the invention, the snapping body 6302 has a connection piece 63021 and a snapping piece 63022 connected together in a bent manner, the connection piece 63021 is connected to the mounting body 6301 in a bent manner, the connection piece 63021 is provided with the connection part 632, and the snapping piece 63022 is provided with the snapping part 633. When the elastic fastener 63 is in a naturally deployed state (see FIG. 5), the connection piece 63021 is inclined against the mounting body 6301 and the snapping piece 63022 is parallel to the mounting body 6301. Such the configuration makes the linking cord 66 easily drive the snapping body 6302 to deform.

    Third Embodiment

[0038] Referring to FIG. 6, the difference between the third and first embodiments of the invention resides in the elastic fastener 63. Specifically, in the third embodiment of the invention, the elastic fastener 63 has a mounting body 6301 and a snapping body 6302 connected together in a curved manner so that the elastic fastener 63 has the elasticity. The mounting body 6301 has a mounting part 631 connected to one stick 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1, the snapping body 6302 is provided with a snapping part 633 movably snapping into the retaining hole 12, and a connection part 632 connected to the linking cord 66. The linking cord may be knotted with the connection part 632. The linking cord may also be connected with a hook connector 67 hooking the connection part 632. An inserting connection may be formed between the mounting part 631 and the stick 101.

[0039] In the third embodiment of the invention, the snapping body 6302 has a jointing piece 63023, a connection piece 63021 and a snapping piece 63022 sequentially connected together in a bent manner. The jointing piece 63023 is connected to the mounting body 6301 in a bent manner. The connection piece 63021 is provided with the connection part 632. The snapping piece 63022 is provided with the snapping part 633. When the elastic fastener 63 is in a naturally deployed state (see FIG. 6), the jointing piece 63023 and the connection piece 63021 are inclined against the mounting body 6301, and the snapping piece 63022 is parallel to the mounting body 6301. Such the configuration also makes the linking cord 66 easily drive the snapping body 6302 to deform.

    Fourth Embodiment

[0040] Referring to FIG. 7, the difference between the fourth and first embodiments of the invention resides in the elastic fastener 63. Specifically, in the fourth embodiment of the invention, the elastic fastener 63 has a mounting body 6301 and a snapping body 6302 connected together in a curved manner so that the elastic fastener 63 has the elasticity. The mounting body 6301 has a mounting part 631 connected to one stick 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1. The snapping body 6302 is provided with a snapping part 633 movably snapping into the retaining hole 12, and a connection part 632 connected to the linking cord 66. The linking cord may be knotted with the connection part 632. The linking cord may also be connected with a hook connector 67 hooking the connection part 632. An inserting connection may be formed between the mounting part 631 and the stick 101.

[0041] In the fourth embodiment of the invention, the snapping body 6302 has a jointing piece 63023, a connection piece 63021 and a snapping piece 63022 sequentially connected together in a bent manner. 7), the connection piece 63021 is inclined against the mounting body 6301, and the jointing piece 63023 and the snapping piece 63022 are parallel to the mounting body 6301. Such the configuration also makes the linking cord 66 easily drive the snapping body 6302 to deform.

    Fifth Embodiment

[0042] Referring to FIGS. 8 to 10, the multi-section middle rod 1 in the fifth embodiment of the invention is a four-section middle rod 1, wherein apertures of the sticks 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1 are sequentially increased from top to bottom, the retaining hole 12 of the multi-section middle rod 1 is disposed on the upper portion of the third (counted from top to bottom) section of stick 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1, and the elastic fastener 63 is mounted on the lower portion of the second (counted from top to bottom) section of stick 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1. In this way, when the pull sleeve 64 is pulled downwards so that the multi-section middle rod 1 automatically performs the partial retraction, middle two sections of sticks 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1 are retracted. The foldable rib member 5 is a corresponding four-fold umbrella rib member.

[0043] In the fifth embodiment of the invention, a top end of the elastic fastener 63 is provided with a mounting part 631 connected to one stick 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1, a bottom end of the elastic fastener 63 is provided with a connection part 632 connected to the linking cord 66, and a middle portion of the elastic fastener 63 is provided with a curved bending part 634 so that the elastic fastener 63 can deform. The elastic fastener 63 is further provided with a snapping part 633 lower than the bending part 634, and the snapping part 633 movably snaps into the retaining hole 12.

[0044] In the fifth embodiment of the invention, the positioning connector 7 may fit into the middle stick 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1, and the inner end of the umbrella retracting cord 62 is connected to the positioning connector 7 to mount the inner end of the umbrella retracting cord 62 into the multi-section middle rod 1. Specifically, the positioning connector 7 is mounted on the lower portion of the third (counted from top to bottom) section of stick 101 of the multi-section middle rod 1, and the positioning connector 7 has a hollow structure through which the linking cord 66 can pass. The lower nest 3 fits with a movable pulley 31. An outer end of the umbrella retracting cord 62 sequentially goes around the fixed pulley 61 and the movable pulley 31, and is then connected to the upper nest 2. In this manner, when the lower nest 3 moves downwards, the umbrella retracting cord 62 drives the multi-section middle rod 1 to perform the partial retraction.

[0045] In the fifth embodiment of the invention, the linking cord 66 has at least two knots 661. The knot 661 can prevent the linking cord 66 from escaping from the longitudinal hole 11 of the multi-section middle rod 1. The linking cord 66 may be knotted with the connector 65, and an outer end of the connector 65 is formed with a connection hooking part 651 hooking the pull sleeve 64. The connection between the connector 65 and the pull sleeve 64 is simple.

[0046] In the fifth embodiment of the invention, the sidewall of the head 4 is formed with the operation notch 41 to provide the operation space for the user to pull the pull sleeve 64 downwards. In addition, when the manually opened and automatically closing umbrella of the invention is in the fully retracted state, the lower nest 3 is inserted into the head 4. Such the configuration also makes the multi-section middle rod 1 be retracted as possible as it can, so that it is advantageous to the shortening of the retracted length of the multi-section middle rod 1, and to the small size of the invention when the umbrella is fully retracted.

[0047] When the lower nest 3 is inserted into the head 4, an inserting connection may be formed between the lower portion of the lower nest 3 and the pull sleeve 64, and this is further beneficial to that the multi-section middle rod 1 can be retracted as possible as it can.

[0048] The above-mentioned embodiments and drawings do not intend to limit the product form and style of the invention. Any appropriate changes or modifications made by those of ordinary skill in the art shall be regarded as not departing from the claims of the invention.
