[0019]
[0020] The casing 91 has an internal space 911. The electronic components 92 may include any components in connections with the electronic product 90, such as hard drives, CPUs, memories, graphics cards, fans, optical disc drives, card readers, cords, transmission lines, etc.
[0021] The packaging structure 1 includes a package box 10, an external cushion insert 20 and an internal cushion insert 30.
[0022] The package box 10 is a base box having a cavity to receive the casing 91. The package box 10 includes a surrounding side panel 11, a lower panel 12 and an upper panel 13. The surrounding side panel 11 defines an accommodation space 11a with a top opening 111 and a bottom opening 112. The lower panel 12 is positioned in and closes the bottom opening 112. The lower panel 12 may be affixed to the bottom opening 112 or removably covers the bottom opening 112. The upper panel 13 removably covers the top opening 111. The lower panel 12 and the upper panel 13 are configured to close and seal the package box 10 and enclose the casing 91 within the packaging structure 1. The lower panel 12 and the upper panel 13 may be a lid or a flap connected to or extended from the surrounding side panel 11.
[0023] The external cushion insert 20, referred to as the first packing cushion A, includes an upper cushion insert 21 and a lower cushion insert 22. The first packing cushion A is positioned outside the casing 91, occupying the space between the casing 91 and the package box 10. The first packing cushion A is in contact with an external region 91a of the casing 91 to buffer the external region 91a and one or more corners 912 from potential harm or destruction during shipping or warehousing. The upper cushion insert 21 is placed between the casing 91 and the top opening 111, while the lower cushion insert 22 is positioned between the casing 91 and the lower panel 12. In one example, the upper cushion insert 21 and the lower cushion insert 22 are designed solely to protect the casing 91 and do not include structures or functions to store or accommodate the electronic components 92. Their primary purpose is to secure and house the casing 91 within the package box 10.
[0024] The internal cushion insert 30 occupies the internal space 911. The internal cushion insert 30 is separately from the casing 91 and detachably disposed inside the casing 91. The internal cushion insert 30 is configured to protect the casing 91 from the inside and includes a plurality of recess compartments 34. Each of the recess compartments 34 has a housing space 341 and an access opening 342. The access opening 342 exposes the housing space 341, allowing the electronic component 92 to be placed in or removed from the housing space 341. In the example, the internal cushion insert 30 includes one or more separating members 31, one or more stuffing members 32 and a side packing pad 33. The separating members 31 are stacked along a height direction to form a second packing cushion B. The separating members 31 include one or more first separating members 311 and one or more second separating members 312. Both the first separating member 311 and the second separating members 312 extend along a transverse plane to form a board-like structure. The first separating member 311 has a first recess that extends along the transverse plane and being exposed laterally, while the second separating member 312 has a second recess that extends along the transverse plane and being exposed both laterally and vertically. The first and second recesses have openings formed at one end or both ends. When the separating members 31 are stacked together, a recess-like structure may be provided between the second recess of the second separating member 312 and a top surface or a lower surface of the neighboring separating member (the first separating member 311 or the second separating member 312). That is, the first recess and the second recess provide the plurality of recess compartments 34 formed on the second packing cushion B.
[0025] In various embodiments, the package box 10 may be formed from fibrous materials such as paper-based and wood-based materials. For example, cardboard, cartonboard, paperboard, paper, chipboard and other such paper-based and wood-based materials known to those in the art. The external cushion insert 20 and/or the internal cushion insert 30 may be formed from resilient materials.
[0026] The housing space 341 of the recess compartment 34 is configured to accommodate the electronic component 92. The access opening 342 is exposed in a direction in parallel to a width direction of the casing 91. That is, the access opening 342 faces a detachable side panel of the casing 91. The second packing cushion B has a contour B1 of an external surface and a contour B2 of an internal surface. The contour B1 of the external surface is complementary to the internal space 911 of the casing 91. The contour B2 of the internal surface is formed in the housing space 341 and shaped to accommodate the electronic component 92. In one example, the contour B2 of the internal surface is complementary to a shape of the electronic component 92. Therefore, the contour B1 of the external surface is in contact with an internal structure 911a of the casing 91 and the contour B2 of the internal surface is at least partially in contact with an external structure of the electronic component 92.
[0027] In an example, the contours of the first separating member 311, the second separating member 312 and/or the stuffing members 32 maybe different from each other. For instance, the contour B1 of the external surface and the contour B2 of the internal surface are designed to be based on the shape of the second packing cushion B.
[0028] The first separating member 311 includes an upper portion 3111, a bottom portion 3112 and a side portion 3113. The side portion 3113 vertically extends from the bottom portion 3112 to the upper portion 3111. The upper portion 3111 and the bottom portion 3112 define the recess compartments 34 with the housing space 341 and the access opening 342. The second separating member 312 includes a bottom portion 3121 and a side portion 3122, which collectively define a recess 3123. The recess 3123 turns into the recess compartments 34 when the first separating member 311 and the second separating member 312 are assembled and stacked together.
[0029] The stuffing members 32 may be disposed in the housing space 341. In some examples, the stuffing members 32 may have a shape that is complementary to the contour B2 of the internal surface of the second packing cushion B. In one example, the stuffing members 32 are inserted into the recess compartments 34 to act as a supporting structure for the internal cushion insert 30. In other examples, the stuffing members 32 have a slot 3411 that is smaller than the housing space 341, which provides space to accommodate smaller electronic components 92, such as cords, wires, etc.
[0030] The side packing pad 33 is positioned upright and on the side of the internal cushion insert 30. The side packing pad 33 covers the access opening 342 to prevent the electronic components 92 from falling out.

[0035] The packaging structure according to the present invention can protect the casing through the external cushion insert to avoid damage due to collision, and protects the electronic components through the internal cushion inserts. The internal cushion inserts are detachably provided inside the casing, which improves efficiency of use of space. The electronic components as well as other accessories and parts can be securely stored inside the casing without increasing the packaging volume.
