Abstract
A yarn fluffing tool comprising: a dowel, the dowel comprising a first end and a second end; a first loop extending from the first end, the first loop having a generally smooth shape except for a first irregular portion where the first loop terminates at the first end and that first irregular portion has an irregular shape, the first loop is bent in a first direction away from the longitudinal directions of the dowel; a second loop extending from the first end and adjacent to the first loop, the second loop having a generally smooth shape except for a second irregular portion, where the second loop is basically a mirror image shape of the first loop; and where the first irregular portion and the second irregular portion overlap with each other.
Claims
1. A yarn fluffing tool comprising: a dowel, the dowel comprising a first end and a second end; a first loop extending from the first end, the first loop having a generally smooth shape wherein the generally smooth shape is generally linear or curved without sudden changes in direction or sharp angles, except for a first irregular portion where the first loop terminates at the first end and that first irregular portion has an irregular shape, the first loop is bent in a first direction away from the longitudinal directions of the dowel the first irregular portion abuts the first end, and wherein irregular means generally having sudden changes in direction and/or with sharp angles; a second loop extending from the first end and adjacent to the first loop, the second loop having a generally smooth shape except for a second irregular portion where the second loop terminates at the first end and that second irregular portion has an irregular shape, the second loop is bent in a second direction away from a longitudinal directions of the dowel, wherein the second loop is basically a mirror image shape of the first loop; and wherein the first irregular portion and the second irregular portion are sawtooth or zig zag shape, and at least two sawtooth portions or two zig zags of the first irregular portion overlap with at least two sawtooth portions or two zig zags of the second irregular portion and the second irregular portion abuts the first end.
2. The yarn fluffing tool of claim 1, where the first loop and second loop form an angled opening, the angled opening having an angle of about 70 to about 120.
3. The yarn fluffing tool of claim 1, wherein the loops are made from wire.
4. The yarn fluffing tool of claim 1, wherein the dowel is made from wood or plastic.
5. The yarn fluffing tool of claim 1, wherein the yarn fluffing tool is configured to fluff chunky yarn.
6. The yarn fluffing tool of claim 1, wherein the yarn fluffing tool is configured to fluff bulky, super bulky, or jumbo yarn.
7. The yarn fluffing tool of claim 1, wherein the loops are made from plastic.
8. (canceled)
9. (canceled)
10. The yarn fluffing tool of claim 1 wherein the first end and second ends are covered with plastic caps.
11. The yarn fluffing tool of claim 1 wherein the first end and second ends are covered with metal caps.
12. A yarn fluffing tool comprising: a dowel, the dowel comprising a first end and a second end; a first loop extending from the first end, the first loop having a generally smooth shape, wherein the generally smooth shape is generally linear or curved without sudden changes in direction or sharp angles, except for a first irregular portion where the first loop terminates at the first end and that first irregular portion has an irregular shape, the first loop is bent in a first direction away from the longitudinal directions of the dowel and the first irregular portion abuts the first end, and wherein irregular means generally having sudden changes in direction and/or with sharp angles; a second loop extending from the first end and adjacent to the first loop, the second loop having a generally smooth shape except for a second irregular portion where the second loop terminates at the first end and that second irregular portion has an irregular shape, the second loop is bent in a second direction away from a longitudinal directions of the dowel, wherein the second loop is basically a mirror image shape of the first loop; and wherein the first irregular portion and the second irregular portion are sinusoidal shape, square wave shape, triangle wave shape, or pulse wave shape, and at least two troughs and crests of the sinusoidal shape, two squares, two triangle, or two pulses of the first irregular portion overlap with at least two troughs and crests of the sinusoidal shape, two squares, two triangle, or two pulses of the second irregular portion and the second irregular portion abuts the first end.

[0016] The disclosed yarn fluffing tool has many advantages. The tool is inexpensive. It can be used easily with chunky, bulky, super bulky, or jumbo yarn. A user simply inserts a length of yarn into the tool via the angled opening, slide the yarn so it is between the sawtooth/zig zag portions of the two loops, and slide the yarn along its length through the yarn fluffing tool one or more times.
