Description

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0043] The subject matter regarded as the invention is particularly pointed out and distinctly claimed in the concluding portion of the specification. The invention, however, both as to organization and method of operation, together with objects, features, and advantages thereof, may best be understood by reference to the following detailed description when read with the accompanying drawings in which:

[0044] FIGS. 1A-1E show embodiments of a synthetic gingival patch graft of the invention.

[0045] FIGS. 2A-2B show embodiments of a synthetic gingival patch graft of the invention.

[0046] It will be appreciated that for simplicity and clarity of illustration, elements shown in the figures have not necessarily been drawn to scale. For example, the dimensions of some of the elements may be exaggerated relative to other elements for clarity. Further, where considered appropriate, reference numerals may be repeated among the figures to indicate corresponding or analogous elements.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

[0047] In the following detailed description, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the invention. However, it will be understood by those skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced without these specific details. In other instances, well-known methods, procedures, and components have not been described in detail so as not to obscure the present invention.

[0048] FIG. 1A shows a synthetic gingival patch graft of the invention (100). FIG. 1B shows the synthetic gingival patch graft of the invention (101) with grooves (102) cut in a predetermined shape to be placed periodontally. FIG. 1C and FIG. 1D show embodiments of a synthetic gingival patch graft of the invention (103) and (105) with holes (104) and (106) cut in a predetermined shape to be placed periodontally. FIG. 1E shows a synthetic gingival patch graft of the invention (107), placed on a representative periodontal segment (109), wherein the holes (108) cut into the patch allow the placement over the teeth and on the gingival tissue (110).

[0049] FIG. 2A shows a synthetic gingival patch graft of the invention (200 and 201 the AA cross section of 200) that comprises in addition to the porous layer (202), a non-porous (film) layer (203). FIG. 2B shows synthetic gingival patch graft of the invention (300 and 301 the AA cross section of 300) that comprises two porous layers (302 and 303) and one non-porous (film) layer (304) in between them.

[0050] While certain features of the invention have been illustrated and described herein, many modifications, substitutions, changes, and equivalents will now occur to those of ordinary skill in the art.
