[0040] This first electromagnet 40 generate a magnetic force set by the operation of the controller 70.

[0041] The second pressure roller 30 is rotated by the driving force of the driver 80 while applying pressure to the second surface 11b of the electrode plate 11. The second pressure roller 30 has a long length in the width direction of the second surface 11b of the electrode plate 11 and have the same or a similar shape as the first pressure roller 20. The second pressure roller 30 may apply pressure to the second surface 11b of the electrode plate 11 while being maintained a predetermined distance from the first pressure roller 20.

[0042] The second electromagnet 50 may be installed inside the second pressure roller 30. In the depicted example, the second electromagnet 50 is provided in a hole 31 that is formed in the second pressure roller 30.

[0043] The second electromagnet 50 has a cylindrical shape and may be provided at a center diameter of the second pressure roller 30.

[0044] The second electromagnet 50 may apply pressure to the first surface 11a of the electrode plate 11 according to the application of magnetic force and provide a rotational axis function that supports the rotational state of the second pressure roller 30. The second electromagnet 50 may protrude from ends of the second pressure roller 30, with the protruding parts being inserted into the frame part 10.

[0045] The second electromagnet 50 is illustrated as being installed as a single unit with a length corresponding to the length of the second pressure roller 30. But the present disclosure is not limited to this embodiment. For example, the second electromagnet may be provided as a plurality of units inside the second pressure roller 30.

[0046] The distance sensor 60 may be configured to sense the distance between the first pressure roller 20 and the second pressure roller 30. The distance sensor 60 function to check whether the first pressure roller 20 and the second pressure roller 30 maintain an appropriate distance apart in response to the size of the electrode plate 11. The distance sensor 60 may be provided on one of the first electromagnet 40 or the second electromagnet 50. But the present disclosure not limited thereto and the distance sensor may be provided on each of the first electromagnet 40 and the second electromagnet 50. A signal from the distance sensor 60 may be transmitted to the controller 70.

[0047] The controller 70 may receive the sensing signal from the distance sensor 60 and then compare the thickness of the electrode plate 11 to be manufactured with the distance between the first pressure roller 20 and the second pressure roller 30. As such, the controller 70 may then control the distance between the first pressure roller 20 and the second pressure roller 30 to be an appropriate distance.

[0048] In some embodiments, the controller 70 may be operated manually to control the distance between the first pressure roller 20 and the second pressure roller 30 according to an operator's direction. Additionally or alternatively, the controller 70 may automatically adjust the distance between the first pressure roller 20 and the second pressure roller 30 in response to the thickness of the electrode plate 11 by a predetermined control program.

[0049] For example, the controller 70 may adjust the distance between the first and second pressure rollers 20 and 30 by varying the strength of the magnetic force applied to each of the first and second pressure rollers 20 and 30 according to the signal of the distance sensor 60.

[0050] The driver 80 provides a rotational driving force to the first pressure roller 20 and the second pressure roller 30. [0051] The driving motor 81 may be provided inside and outside the frame part 10 and may be driven manually or remotely according to the operator's control. The rotational driving force of the driving motor 81 may be transmitted to the first and second pressure rollers 20 and 30 by the driving belt 83 to ensure proper rotational operation of the first and second pressure rollers 20 and 30. The electrode plates may thereby be made smooth and have a predetermined thickness.

[0052] The driving belt 83 is connected between the rotational shaft 82 of the driving motor 81 and the parts of first and/or second electromagnets 40 and 50 the protrude outside of the first/second pressure rollers 20 and 30. The connection provided by the driving belt 83 is such that the rotational driving force of the driving motor 81 is stably transmitted to the first and second pressure rollers 20 and 30.

[0053] As described above, the roll press apparatus for manufacturing electrode plates 100 of the present embodiment applies a magnetic force of a strength to the first/second electromagnets 40 and 50 based on the thickness of the electrode plate 11 to be pressed. Thus, a distance can be maintained between the first and second pressure rollers 20 and 30 corresponding to the electrode plate 11 thickness, which thereby improves the quality of the electrode plate being manufactured.

[0054] In addition, since the first and second electromagnets 40 and 50 are provided with a long length in the length direction of the first and second pressure rollers 20 and 30, it is possible to apply pressure to the surfaces of the electrode plate 11 more evenly, thereby further improving the quality of the electrode plate.
