DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0015] Before the disclosure is described in greater detail, it should be noted that where considered appropriate, reference numerals or terminal portions of reference numerals have been repeated among the figures to indicate corresponding or analogous elements, which may optionally have similar characteristics.

[0016] It should be noted herein that for clarity of description, spatially relative terms such as top, bottom, upper, lower, on, above, over, downwardly, upwardly and the like may be used throughout the disclosure while making reference to the features as illustrated in the drawings. The features may be oriented differently (e.g., rotated 90 degrees or at other orientations) and the spatially relative terms used herein may be interpreted accordingly.

[0017] FIGS. 1 and 2 illustrate a slide rail device according to an embodiment of the disclosure. The slide rail device is adapted to be mounted to a server cabinet (not shown), and includes an outer rail 1, a first slide rail unit 2, and a second slide rail 3.

[0018] As shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, the outer rail 1 has a sliding surface 11 and a mounting surface 12. The mounting surface 12 is opposite to the sliding surface 11 and faces the server cabinet (not shown).

[0019] The first slide rail unit 2 is slidably disposed on the sliding surface 11. The first slide rail unit 2 serves as an intermediate slide rail unit and includes a first slide rail 21, two support members 22, and two positioning members 23.

[0020] The first slide rail 21 has a rail plate 211, two rail walls 212, and four mounting holes 215. The rail plate 211 has a first end 213, a second end 214, a sliding surface 211a, and a plate surface 211b. The second end 214 is opposite to the first end 213. The plate surface is opposite to the sliding surface 211a, and faces the outer rail 1. The two rail walls 212 respectively and transversely extend from a top side and a bottom side of the rail plate 211. The mounting holes 215 are formed in the sliding surface 211a, and are disposed adjacent to the second end 214.

[0021] As shown in FIGS. 3 to 5, the support members 22 abut against the sliding surface 211a, and respectively abut against the rail walls 212. Each of the support members 22 has a main portion 221 that abuts against the sliding surface 211a, two contact portions 222 that extends from the main portion 221 along the sliding surface 211a, and an abutment portion 223 that is connected to the main portion 221 and that abuts against the second slide rail 3 (details of which will be described hereinafter) and the respective one of said rail walls 212. Each of the contact portions 222 of each of the support members 22 is inserted into a respective one of the mounting holes 215. In this embodiment, the main portion 221 of each of the support members 22 has a flat segment 221a and an angled segment 221b. The flat segment 221a abuts against the sliding surface 211a. The angled segment 221b is transversely connected to the flat segment 221a, abuts against the respective one of the rail walls 212, and is connected to the abutment portion 223 of the support member 22. For each of the support members 22, a thickness of each of the contact portions 222 is greater than a thickness of the angled segment 221b of the main portion 221. Each of the contact portions 222 of each of the support members 22 has a first contact surface 222a, a second contact surface 222b, and a third contact surface 222c. The second contact surface 222b is transversely connected to the first contact surface 222a. The third contact surface 222c is transversely connected to the second contact surface 222b and is opposite to the first contact surface 222a. The abutment portion 223 of each of the support members 22 has an inclined guiding surface 223a that is disposed opposite to the respective one of the rail walls 212 and that abuts against the second slide rail 3.

[0022] As shown in FIGS. 3, 4, and 6, the positioning members 23 are fixed to the sliding surface 211a by four fasteners 24, are respectively connected to the support members 22, and respectively retain the support members 22 on the rail walls 212. Each of the positioning members 23 has a plate portion 231 that abuts against the sliding surface 211a, and two retaining portions 232 that extend from the plate portion 231. Each of the retaining portions 232 of each of the positioning members 23 is inserted into a respective one of the two mounting holes 215, and retains the respective one of the support members 22 on the rail walls 212. Each of the retaining portions 232 of each of the positioning members 23 has a first retaining segment 232a that is connected to the plate portion 231, and a second retaining segment 232b that is bent from the first retaining segment 232a. In this embodiment, for each of the support members 22, the first contact surface 222a of each of the contact portions 222 is disposed for abutting against the plate portion 231 of the respective one of the positioning members 23, the second contact surface 222b of each of the contact portions 222 is disposed for abutting against the first retaining segment 232a of the respective one of the retaining portions 232 of the respective one of the positioning members 23, and the third contact surface 222c is disposed for abutting against the second retaining segment 232b of the respective one of the retaining portions 232 of the respective one of the positioning members 23. By virtue of the positioning members 23 respectively retaining the support members 22 on the rail walls 212, the support members 22 are prevented from moving or rotating relative to the first slide rail 21 and from being detached from the rail walls 212.

[0023] Referring back to FIGS. 2 and 4, the second slide rail 3 serves as an inner slide rail, is slidably disposed on the sliding surface 211a, and abuts against the support members 22. The second slide rail 3 has a web plate 31 and two track walls 32 that respectively and transversely extend from a top side and a bottom side of the web plate 31. The track walls 32 respectively abut against the support members 22. When the second slide rail 3 and the first slide rail 21 are assembled, the track walls 32 first and respectively abut against the inclined guiding surfaces 223a of the support members 22 so that the second slide rail 3 and the first slide rail 21 are slidably assembled with each other. In addition, the support members 22 are pushed respectively against the rail walls 212 of the first slide rail 21 by abutment of the track walls 32 against the inclined guiding surfaces 223a of the support members 22, thereby helping to prevent the support members 22 from being detached respectively from the rail walls 212.

[0024] It should be noted that while, in this embodiment, the first slide rail unit 2 serves as the intermediate slide rail unit, and the second slide rail 3 serves as the inner slide rail, the slide rail device of the disclosure may vary in configuration. For example, in other embodiments, the first slide rail unit 2 may serve as an outer slide rail unit, and the second slide rail 3 may serve as an intermediate slide rail.

[0025] In summary, because the positioning members 23 are fixed to the sliding surface 211a of the first slide rail 21 and respectively retain the support members 22, the support members 22 are prevented from being detached respectively from the rail walls 212 of the first slide rail 21 such that each of the support members 22 is solidly positioned between the first slide rail 21 and the second slide rail 3, thereby facilitating the assembly of the first slide rail unit 2 and the second slide rail 3.
