EXAMPLES
Materials
[0041] PA6 is chemically recycled Polyamide 6.
[0042] Virgin PA6 means those commercialized PA6 in the market, such as BASF Ultramid B3S, which usually contains not only molecule of PA6 itself, but also different kinds of additives, such as heat stabilizers, mold release, etc.
[0043] Unmodified chemically recycled PA6 means 100% PA6 molecule itself without adding any additives. It is purely 100% PA6 obtained by chemical recycling.
[0044] Anti-MS-oxidized wax is an oxidized PE wax.
[0045] LCP is a liquid crystal polymer.
[0046] Irganox 1010 by BASF is pentaerythritol tetrakis[3-[3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl]propionate.
[0047] Irgafos 168 by BASF is tris(2,4-di-tert.-butylphenyl)phosphite.
[0048] Irganox 1098 by BASF is a N,N-hexane-1,6-diylbis(3-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenylpropionamide)).
Preparation of the Compositions
[0049] For each example, the composition was prepared by mixing all the components.
Test Procedure
[0050] The virgin PA6, the unmodified chemically recycled PA6, and the compositions are used in injection molding for producing buckles or zipper pullers.
[0051] Smoothness is observed in an injection molding process to see if mold sticking happens and if a molded part, such as a buckle or zipper puller, can be smoothly ejected.
[0052] The tensile strength is tested for a buckle or zipper puller under a pulling speed at 300 mm/min, at room temperature. The buckle or zipper puller is pulled until it breaks or separates.
[0053] The compositions and test results are shown in Table 1.

[0054] The unmodified chemically recycled PA6 had a serious mold sticking problem in injection molding. The industrial standard is >50 kg for tensile strength in buckles, and >12 g for tensile strength in zipper pullers. The zipper puller made of the unmodified chemically recycled PA6 did not meet the industrial standard for tensile strength.
[0055] For examples 1-9, Y.sub.2O.sub.3 did not turn yellow at a high temperature, such as about 260 degree C.
[0056] With the nucleation agent, Examples 1 and 2 were only slightly mold sticking, and exhibited significantly improved tensile strength in both buckles and zipper pullers, as compared with the unmodified chemically recycled PA6.
[0057] Examples 3-7 further comprised an anti-ms-oxidized wax, and were smooth in injection molding, which was advantageous over Examples 1 and 2.
[0058] Examples 8 and 9 further comprising PEG8000 exhibited further improved injection molding smoothness over Examples 3-7.
[0059] All Examples 1-9 met the industrial standard for tensile strength in buckles and zipper pullers.
[0060] In Example 7, LCP (liquid crystal polymer) was incorporated into the composition to make the composition whiter.
[0061] Although the present invention is described with reference to the preferred embodiments, it is understood that various modifications are possible within the spirit or scope of the present invention.
