Table Leveler

Abstract

The present invention, generally, is a pair of wedges that are affixed to each other in a centrally rotatable fashion that in one orientation have a rectangular prism shape and when rotated for a single wedge. The present invention is intended for use with a table or desk that is uneven and wobbles or rocks but is also usable with chairs and other furniture items. Most typically, the present invention is designed with the ISO/IEC 7810 ID-1 standard dimensions to allow for ease of transport and reuse.

Claims

1. A device, comprising: at least two wedges of equal dimensions centrally affixed to each other such that the wedges can rotate and form a rectangular prism with the wedges having interior surfaces where the wedges contact another wedge, and an exterior surface where the wedge does not contact another wedge.

2. The device of claim 1, wherein at least one exterior surface of the at least two wedges has at least one ridge on at least one exterior surface.

3. The device of claim 2, wherein the at least one ridge is on each exterior surface.

4. The device of claim 2, wherein the at least one ridge is a sufficient number of ridges to cover the exterior surface.

5. The device of claim 1, wherein each wedge has dimensions of 85.6 mm width, 53.98 mm height, and less than 1.0 mm thick.

6. The device of claim 1, wherein the wedges have a slope angle of between 0.5 and 1.0.

7. The device of claim 1, further comprising a notch in the wedges such that the wedges can be locked into place removing the ability to rotate until the lock is released.

8. The device of claim 1, wherein the at least two wedges are three or four wedges.

[0009] In one embodiment of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, two wedges, 10 and 12, of equal dimensions are centrally affixed, 16, to each other such that the wedges can rotate to form a rectangular prism. In some embodiments, the wedges are ridged, 14, on the exterior surface to allow for higher friction with the floor and the furniture item to be stabilized, such that the foot of the furniture item is not sitting on a smooth surface. Some embodiments of this are such that the entire exterior surface of both of the wedges are covered with ridges, and others such that the exterior surface only has a few ridges, or even as few as one ridge on each side.

[0010] Most typically, the wedges have dimensions of 85.6 mm width, 53.98 mm height, and less than 1.0 mm thick. These are the dimensions of the ISO/EIC 7810 ID-1 format size. As such, the present invention is typically designed to fit into a credit card slot within a wallet or purse to be readily available for someone to use to level a rocking or wobbly table or chair. However, other dimensions are contemplated.

[0012] In further embodiments, there is a notch, 16, within the wedges that allow the wedges to be locked into place, removing the ability to rotate, until the lock is released.
