DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

(6) Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, the replaceable structure for a bathtub overflow pipe of the present invention comprises an overflow pipe 10 which is an elongated tube and includes an inverted L-shaped end vertically extending from the distal end of the overflow pipe 10. The inverted L-shaped end includes a horizontally extending section 11, and an outlet 12 is defined in the extending section 11 for discharging water. At least two threaded holes 13 are defined in the end face of the extending section 11 of the overflow pipe 10. The outlet 12 is located between the at least two threaded holes 13. A flange 111 extends radially from the outer periphery of the extending section 11 of the overflow pipe 10 and is located at a distance from the end face of the extending section 11. A collar 14 is mounted to the outer periphery of the extending section 11 and contacts against the flange 111. As shown in FIG. 3, the extending section 11 of the overflow pipe 10 extends through the bore 21 of the bathtub 20. The collar 14 is claimed between the flange 111 and the wall of the bathtub 20. The outlet 12 of the extending section 11 is located close to the bathtub 20.

(7) As shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, an adapter 30 includes a sleeve 31 and a tab 32 which extends radially from one end of the sleeve 31. The sleeve 31 includes a passage 311 defined therethrough. The tab 32 is semicircular in shape, and a recess 321 is formed to the lower edge of the tab 32 and communicates with the outlet 12 of the overflow pipe 10. A recessed rail 33 is defined axially in the inner periphery of the passage 311 of the sleeve 31. The sleeve 31 is inserted into the outlet 12, and the tab 32 is secured to the extending section 11 of the overflow pipe 10. A first hole 34 and a second hole 341 are respectively defined through the tab 32, wherein the second hole 341 is an elongate hole. Two bolts 35 extend through the first and second holes 341, the bore 21 of the bathtub 20, and are connected to the at least two threaded holes 13 of the extending section 11 to connect the adapter to the end face of the extending section 11. The tab 32 is placed against the bathtub 20.

(8) As shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, a cover 40 includes a rim 41 extending toward a first side of the cover 40. The rim 41 of the cover 40 has a recessed area 411 which communicates with the recess 321 of the adapter 30. A pillar 42 extending axially from the first side of the cover 40, and a rib 43 extends axially from the outer periphery of the pillar 42. The pillar 42 extends through the passage 311 of the adapter 30. The rib 43 is slidably engaged with the recessed rail 33. The pillar 42 of the cover 40 includes an annular groove 45, and a sealing ring 45 is engaged with the annular groove 45.

(9) As shown in FIGS. 2 to 5, when installing the overflow pipe 10 to the bathtub 20, the recessed area 33 of the adapter 30 faces upward to align the first and second holes 34, 341 with the at least two threaded holes 13. The two bolts 35 extend through the first and second holes 34, 341 and are connected to the at least two threaded holes 13. The second hole 341 is an elongate hole so as to compensate the machining tolerance of the at least two threaded holes 13 to ensure that the bolts 35 are connected to the at least two threaded holes 13. The rib 43 is slidably engaged with the recessed rail 33 to ensure that when the cover 40 is assembled to the adapter 30, the recessed area 411 is located at the lower portion of the whole overflow pipe assembly.
