DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0017] The innovation is now described with reference to the drawings, wherein like reference numerals are used to refer to like elements throughout. In the following description, for purposes of explanation, numerous specific details are set forth to provide a thorough understanding thereof. It may be evident, however, that the innovation can be practiced without these specific details. In other instances, well-known structures and devices are shown in block diagram form to facilitate a description thereof. Various embodiments are discussed hereinafter. It should be noted that the figures are described only to facilitate the description of the embodiments. They are not intended as an exhaustive description of the invention and do not limit the scope of the invention. Additionally, an illustrated embodiment need not have all the aspects or advantages shown. Thus, in other embodiments, any of the features described herein from different embodiments may be combined.
[0018] As noted above, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a self-defense glove device that provides integrated impact-resistant features for enhanced personal safety. There also exists a long-felt need in the art for a self-defense glove device that incorporates abrasive and deterrent surfaces to inflict superficial damage and deter assailants. Moreover, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a self-defense glove device that offers a secure, ergonomic, and comfortable fit suitable for dynamic physical engagement in self-defense scenarios.
[0019] The present invention, in one exemplary embodiment, is comprised of a self-defense glove device. The device is a wearable glove configured to enhance personal security during physical confrontations by facilitating controlled force application, aggression deterrence, and injury reduction. Functioning as both a protective barrier and a self-defense tool, the glove enables the user to strike, deflect, and disengage in civilian, law enforcement, military, and emergency response applications.
[0020] The glove comprises a body that includes at least one volcanic rock pad positioned at the knuckles, dorsal hand surface, and/or palm to provide impact resistance. The pads are formed from flexible natural or synthetic volcanic materials, which may be combined with a binder to achieve shock-absorbing properties. In one embodiment, the pads are encapsulated in a polymeric layer comprised of materials such as silicone rubber or polyurethane to maintain flexibility and structural integrity under repeated impact.
[0021] The glove may further include an exterior abrasive coating applied to selected areas including the knuckles, palm, and/or sidewalls of the fingers. This coating may be comprised of hard particulate materials such as aluminum oxide or crushed volcanic glass suspended in a flexible resin to enhance frictional contact, increase abrasive force delivery, and improve grip in challenging environments. In one configuration, both the impact-resistant pads and abrasive coating are integrated to provide combined shock absorption and deterrent capability.
[0022] The body is additionally comprised of a fastening mechanism designed to secure the glove around the wrist or forearm. The fastening mechanism may include padding to improve comfort and retention. An impact gel layer may be positioned beneath the pads to enhance shock absorption through viscoelastic or shear-thickening materials, offering zonal protection. A moisture-wicking liner may be incorporated into the interior surface to support thermal comfort and sweat management.
[0023] As a result, the device provides integrated impact-resistant volcanic rock pads that protect the user's hand while enabling precise striking, addressing the need for enhanced personal safety. The inclusion of an abrasive coating comprised of hard particulate matter further enhances the function of the device as an active deterrent capable of inflicting superficial damage. Ergonomic fastening systems, moisture-wicking liners, and optional impact gel layers further contribute to the secure and comfortable fit of the device during active use. Therefore, the device presents an efficient and discreet solution for personal defense, overcoming limitations associated with conventional protective gloves known in the art.
