    Abstract

    An inflatable pool cover device is provided. The device is designed to address common maintenance issues associated with traditional above-ground pool covers by incorporating a dome-shaped inflatable structure that prevents the accumulation of water, snow, and debris.     Claims

    1. An inflatable pool cover device comprising: an inflatable, dome-shaped body; an inflatable rim integrated with the body, the rim comprising: a top surface configured to contact an underside of a pool lip; and a bottom surface configured to rest on the surface of the pool water; wherein the inflatable body is configured to form a continuous seal beneath the pool lip and distribute the weight of external forces across the inflatable, dome-shaped body to prevent sagging or displacement.

    2. The inflatable pool cover device of claim 1, wherein the inflatable rim is comprised of a non-slip texture.

    3. The inflatable pool cover device of claim 1 further comprised of an internal inflatable support rib.

    4. The inflatable pool cover device of claim 1 further comprised of a drainage spout.

    5. The inflatable pool cover device of claim 4, wherein the drainage spout is comprised of a cap.

    6. The inflatable pool cover device of claim 1, wherein an underside of the inflatable, dome-shaped body is comprised of an anti-algae coating.

    7. The inflatable pool cover device of claim 1, wherein an underside of the inflatable, dome-shaped body is comprised of an anti-microbial coating.

    8. An inflatable pool cover device comprising: an inflatable, dome-shaped body; an air valve; an inflatable rim integrated with the body, the rim comprising: a top surface configured to contact an underside of a pool lip; and a bottom surface configured to rest on the surface of the pool water; wherein the inflatable body is configured to form a continuous seal beneath the pool lip and distribute the weight of external forces across the inflatable, dome-shaped body to prevent sagging or displacement.

    9. The inflatable pool cover device of claim 8 further comprised of a frame member.

    10. The inflatable pool cover device of claim 8, wherein the air valve is comprised of a one-way valve.

    11. The inflatable pool cover device of claim 8 further comprised of a pump.

    12. The inflatable pool cover device of claim 11, wherein the pump is comprised of an electric pump.

    13. The inflatable pool cover device of claim 11, wherein the pump is comprised of a quick-lock attachment that attaches to the air valve.

    14. The inflatable pool cover device of claim 13, wherein the quick-lock attachment is comprised of a clamp, threaded connector, or a latch.

    15. The inflatable pool cover device of claim 8, wherein the inflatable rim is comprised of a non-slip texture.

    16. The inflatable pool cover device of claim 15, wherein the non-slip texture is comprised of a rubber.

    17. The inflatable pool cover device of claim 15, wherein the non-slip texture is comprised of a raised texture.

    18. The inflatable pool cover device of claim 8, wherein the inflatable, dome-shaped body is comprised of a UV-resistant material.

    19. The inflatable pool cover device of claim 8, wherein the UV-resistant material is comprised of a PVC reinforced with a cold-resistant vinyl.

    20. A method of using an inflatable pool cover device, the method comprising the following steps: providing an inflatable pool cover device comprised of a dome-shaped, inflatable body, an inflatable rim integrated with the body, and an air valve; positioning the dome-shaped, inflatable body on a surface of a pool water such that a perimeter edge of the dome-shaped, inflatable body aligns with a perimeter edge of the pool and the inflatable rim aligns beneath a pool lip; attaching an air pump to the air valve; and inflating the dome-shaped, inflatable body until the inflatable rim expands outward and upward, forming a continuous seal with the underside of the pool lip while the bottom surface of the rim rests on the surface of the pool water.

Moreover, there exists a long-felt need in the art for an inflatable winter pool cover that provides stability and structural support to withstand external forces such as wind and heavy precipitation without requiring continuous manual intervention or additional maintenance.
