    Abstract

    A bag comprised of kenaf paper. The bag having certain tensile MD strength, tensile CD strength and a burst strength to function as a paper bag.

    Claims

    1. A paper bag comprising: kenaf paper; said kenaf paper having a tensile MD strength from five pounds per inch to two hundred pounds per inch; said kenaf paper having a tensile CD strength from five pounds per inch to two hundred pounds per inch; said kenaf paper having a bursting strength from five pounds per square inch to two hundred pounds per square inch.

    2. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said kenaf paper has an elongation MD from one half pounds per inch to twenty pounds per inch and an elongation CD from one half pounds per inch to twenty pounds per inch.

    3. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said kenaf paper is treated or coated with AKD sizing, a wax derivative.

    4. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag is a flat bottom paper bag.

    5. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag is a pinch bottom paper bag.

    6. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag comprises gussets.

    7. The paper bag of claim 1 further comprising a twist handle or flat handle.

    8. The paper bag of claim 7 wherein said twist handle or said flat handle comprises kenaf paper.

    9. The paper bag of claim 1 further comprising a die cut handle.

    10. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said kenaf paper is oil and grease resistant, leakproof, water resistant or a combination of same.

    11. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag is printable, allowing ink and graphics to be attached to the paper

    12. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag is recyclable, compostable, biodegradable or any combination.

    13. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag is sealable, resealable or closeable

    14. The paper bag of claim 1 wherein said bag comprises one percent kenaf to twenty five percent kenaf.

    15. The bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag comprises twenty five percent kenaf to fifty percent kenaf.

    16. The bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag comprises fifty percent kenaf to seventy five percent kenaf.

    17. The bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag comprises seventy five percent kenaf to one hundred percent kenaf.

    18. The bag of claim 1 wherein said paper bag consists of one hundred percent kenaf.

    19. The bag of claim 1 wherein said percentage of paper that is not kenaf comprises a combination of post-consumer waste recycled wood pulp, post-industrial recycled content wood pulp or virgin wood pulp.

    20. The bag of claim 19 wherein said percentage of kenaf paper is twenty to forty percent kenaf.

    21. A paper bag comprising: kenaf paper and a combination of post-consumer waste recycled wood pulp, post-industrial recycled content wood pulp or virgin wood pulp.

    22. The paper bag of claim 21 wherein said kenaf paper is treated or coated with AKD sizing, a wax derivative.

    23. The paper bag of claim 21 wherein said paper bag is a flat bottom paper bag.

    24. The paper bag of claim 21 wherein said paper bag is a pinch bottom paper bag.

    25. The paper bag of claim 21 wherein said paper bag comprises gussets.

    26. The paper bag of claim 21 further comprising a twist handle or flat handle.

    27. The paper bag of claim 26 wherein said twist handle or said flat handle comprises kenaf paper.

    28. The paper bag of claim 21 further comprising a die cut handle.

    29. The paper bag of claim 21 wherein said kenaf paper is oil and grease resistant, leakproof, water resistant or a combination of same.

    30. The paper bag of claim 21 wherein said paper bag is printable, allowing ink and graphics to be attached to the paper.

    31. The paper bag of claim 21 wherein said paper bag is recyclable, compostable, biodegradable or any combination.

    32. The paper bag of claim 21 wherein said paper bag is sealable, resealable or closeable

    33. The paper bag of claim 21 wherein said paper bag comprises one percent to twenty five percent kenaf.

    34. The paper bag of claim 21 wherein said paper bag comprises twenty five percent to fifty percent kenaf.

    35. The paper bag of claim 21 wherein said paper bag comprises fifty percent to seventy-five percent kenaf.

    36. The paper bag of claim 21 wherein said paper bag comprises seventy-five percent to one hundred percent kenaf.

    37. The paper bag of claim 21 wherein said paper bag consists of one hundred percent kenaf.

    38. A kenaf paper bag comprising: kenaf paper having a hurd content of less than fifteen percent.

    39. The paper bag of claim 38 wherein percent of kenaf paper not made from hurd is made from bast fiber.

    40. The paper bag of claim 38 wherein said kenaf paper is treated or coated with AKD sizing, a wax derivative.

    41. The paper bag of claim 38 wherein said paper bag is a flat bottom paper bag.

    42. The paper bag of claim 38 wherein said paper bag is a pinch bottom paper bag.

    43. The paper bag of claim 38 wherein said paper bag comprises gussets.

    44. The paper bag of claim 38 further comprising a twist handle or a flat handle.

    45. The paper bag of claim 44 wherein said twist handle or said flat handle comprises kenaf paper.

    46. The paper bag of claim 38 further comprising a die cut handle.

    47. The paper bag of claim 38 wherein said kenaf paper is oil and grease resistant, leakproof, water resistant, or combination of the same.

    48. The paper bag of claim 38 wherein said paper bag is printable, allowing ink and graphics
