    Abstract

    The use of kenaf paper for use to manufacture sleeves, cups, trays, containers, and other similar devices made from kenaf.

    Claims

    1. A paper sleeve comprised of kenaf paper for holding hot liquids.

    2. The paper sleeve of claim 1 wherein said paper sleeve is insulated.

    3. The paper sleeve of clam 1 wherein said kenaf paper is one hundred percent kenaf.

    4. The paper sleeve of claim 1 wherein said kenaf paper is comprised of from one to twenty five percent kenaf.

    5. The paper sleeve of claim 1 wherein said kenaf paper is comprised of from twenty five to fifty percent kenaf.

    6. The paper sleeve of claim 1 wherein said kenaf paper is comprised of from fifty to seventy-five percent kenaf.

    7. The paper sleeve of claim 1 wherein said kenaf paper is comprised of from seventy-five to one hundred percent kenaf.

    8. The paper sleeve of claim 1 wherein percentage of paper that is not kenaf paper comprises any combination of post-consumer waste recycled content wood pulp, post-industrial recycled content wood pulp and virgin wood pulp.

    9. The paper sleeve of claim 1 wherein said kenaf paper has a hurd content of less than 15%.

    10. The paper sleeve of claim 9 wherein said kenaf paper not made from said hurd is made from bast fiber.

    11. The paper sleeve of claim 1 wherein said kenaf paper comprises some combination of kenaf hurd, kenaf bast fiber, post-consumer recycled content wood pulp and post-industrial recycled content wood pulp.

    12. The paper sleeve of claim 1 wherein said kenaf paper has a tensile MD strength ranging from five pounds to two hundred pounds per inch and a tensile CD strength ranging from five pounds to two hundred pounds per inch, an elongation MD percentage ranging from one half to twenty pounds per inch and an elongation CD percentage ranging from one half pound to twenty pounds per inch.

    13. The paper sleeve of claim 1 wherein said kenaf paper is treated or coated with AKD sizing.

    14. The paper sleeve of claim 1 wherein said paper sleeve comprises fluting.

    15. The paper sleeve of claim 1 wherein said paper sleeve has fluting on an external side or on both an internal and external side.

    16. The paper sleeve of claim 1 wherein said sleeve has a face and seamless construction, providing a surface area to accept graphics.

    17. The paper sleeve of claim 1 wherein said kenaf paper sleeve is unbleached.

    18. The paper sleeve of claim 1 wherein said kenaf paper sleeve is bleached.

    19. The paper sleeve of claim 1 wherein said paper sleeve is recyclable, curbside recyclable, biodegradable or compostable.

    20. The paper sleeve of claim 1 wherein said paper sleeve has some combination of the following environmentally friendly features: chlorine free, toxin free, BPA free, lead free, phthalates free or PFA free.

    21. The paper sleeve of claim 1 wherein said sleeve has an outside surface having graphics and an inside surface having fluting.

    22. A single face board packaging for paper sleeves to hold cups and containers of hot liquids comprising: a linerboard layer and a corrugated or fluted layer; said single face board packaging comprising kenaf paper.

    23. The single face board packaging of claim 22 wherein said fluting layer is either an E-flute or F-flute.

    24. A tray comprised of kenaf for carrying drinks and food; said trays being molded fiber packaging or made from cardboard, both comprised of kenaf.

    25. The tray of claim 24 wherein said tray is made from one hundred percent kenaf.

    26. The tray of claim 24 wherein said tray is comprised of from one to twenty five percent kenaf.

    27. The tray of claim 24 wherein said tray is comprised of from twenty five to fifty percent kenaf.

    28. The tray of claim 24 wherein said tray is comprised of from fifty to seventy-five percent kenaf.

    29. The tray of claim 24 wherein said trey is comprised of from seventy-five to one hundred percent kenaf.

    30. The tray of claim 24 wherein percentage of said tray that does not comprise said kenaf comprises any combination of post-consumer waste recycled content wood pulp, post-industrial recycled content wood pulp, virgin wood pulp, bamboo and bagasse.

    31. The tray of claim 24 wherein said tray is a molded kenaf paper tray having multiple rounded slots to hold cups or containers of different sizes.

    32. The tray of claim 31 further comprising a flat surface area to hold objects or food other than cups.

    33. The tray of claim 24 wherein said tray further comprises handles.

    34. The tray of claim 24 wherein said cardboard tray accepts all types of printed graphics on the flat surface areas of said tray, including sides and bottom.

    35. The tray of claim 24 wherein said tray is recyclable, curbside recyclable, biodegradable or compostable.

    36. The tray of claim 24 wherein said tray has some combination of the following environmentally friendly features: chlorine free, toxin free, BPA free, lead free, Phthalates free, PFA free.

    37. A molded fiber egg carton comprised of kenaf comprising partitions that hold between one egg and forty eight eggs.

    38. The molded fiber egg carton of claim 37 wherein said egg carton is comprised of one hundred percent kenaf.

    39. The molded fiber egg carton of claim 37 wherein said egg carton is comprised of one to twenty five percent kenaf.

    40. The molded fiber egg carton of claim 37 wherein said egg carton is comprised of twenty five to fifty percent kenaf.

    41. The molded fiber egg carton of claim 37 wherein said egg carton is comprised of fifty to seventy five percent kenaf.

    42. The molded fiber egg carton of claim 37 wherein said egg carton is comprised of seventy five to one hundred percent kenaf.

    43. The molded fiber egg carton of claim 37 wherein percentage of kenaf molded fiber egg carton not comprised of kenaf to be made from any combination of recycled material, bamboo, bagasse, virgin materials and additives.

    44. The molded fiber egg carton of claim 37 wherein said egg carton comprises twenty to forty percent kenaf and the remaining percent of the egg carton comprised of any combination of recycled material, bamboo, bagasse, virgin materials and additives.

    45. A molded fiber clamshell container comprised of kenaf.
