Abstract
A mattress covering device for freshening a room includes a sheet that is configured to position over and to couple to a mattress. A pad is coupled to an underside of the sheet. The pad is scented and is configured to freshen a room in which the mattress is positioned.
Claims
1. A mattress covering device comprising: a sheet configured for positioning over and coupling to a mattress, the sheet comprising: a shell, the shell being substantially rectangularly box shaped defining an interior space, the shell having intersections defined by opposing sides and opposing ends of the shell, the intersections being arcuate such that the intersections are complementary to corners of the mattress, and an opening positioned in a bottom of the shell defining a lip wherein the opening is configured for inserting the mattress into the interior space such that the lip extends over a lower perimeter of the mattress for coupling the shell to the mattress; a pad coupled to an underside of the sheet, the pad being scented wherein the pad is configured for freshening a room in which the mattress is positioned; and a panel coupled to and extending between the opposing ends and the opposing sides of the shell proximate to a top of the shell defining an internal space, the pad being positioned in and substantially occupying the internal space.

3. (canceled)
4. The device of claim 1, further including the sheet comprising fabric.
5. The device of claim 1, further including the opening being substantially rectangularly shaped.
6. (canceled)
7. The device of claim 1, further including a plurality of couplers, each coupler being coupled to the sheet proximate to a respective edge corner of the sheet wherein the couplers are configured for coupling the sheet to the mattress such that the sheet extends over an upper face of the mattress.
8. The device of claim 7, further including each coupler comprising a band coupled to the lip proximate to a circumference of the opening and a respective intersection, the band comprising elastomer such that the band is resiliently stretchable wherein the band is configured for stretching for inserting the mattress through the opening into the interior space and for rebounding for coupling the shell to the mattress.

10. A mattress covering device comprising: a sheet configured for positioning over and coupling to a mattress, the sheet comprising a shell, the shell being substantially rectangularly box shaped defining an interior space, the shell having intersections defined by opposing sides and opposing ends of the shell, the intersections being arcuate such that the intersections are complementary to corners of the mattress, the sheet comprising fabric; an opening positioned in a bottom of the shell defining a lip wherein the opening is configured for inserting the mattress into the interior space such that the lip extends over a lower perimeter of the mattress for coupling the shell to the mattress, the opening being substantially rectangularly shaped; a pad coupled to an underside of the sheet, the pad being scented wherein the pad is configured for freshening a room in which the mattress is positioned; a panel coupled to and extending between the opposing ends and the opposing sides of the shell proximate to a top of the shell defining an internal space, the pad being positioned in and substantially occupying the internal space; and a plurality of couplers, each coupler being coupled to the sheet proximate to a respective edge corner of the sheet wherein the couplers are configured for coupling the sheet to the mattress such that the sheet extends over an upper face of the mattress, each coupler comprising a band coupled to the lip proximate to a circumference of the opening and a respective intersection, the band comprising elastomer such that the band is resiliently stretchable wherein the band is configured for stretching for inserting the mattress through the opening into the interior space and for rebounding for coupling the shell to the mattress.
Description
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)
[0010] The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
[0011]
[0012]
[0013]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0014] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
[0015] As best illustrated in
[0016] An opening 28 is positioned in a bottom 30 of the shell 16 and defines a lip 32, as shown in
[0017] A pad 36 is coupled to an underside 38 of the sheet 12, as shown in
[0018] A panel 40 is coupled to and extends between the opposing ends 24 and the opposing sides 22 of the shell 16, proximate to a top 42 of the shell 16, to define an internal space 44. The pad 36 is positioned in and substantially occupies the internal space 44.
[0019] Each of plurality of couplers 46 is coupled to the sheet 12 proximate to a respective edge corner 48 of the sheet 12. The couplers 46 are configured to couple the sheet 12 to the mattress 14 so that the sheet 12 extends over an upper face 50 of the mattress 14.
[0020] Each coupler 46 comprises a band 52 that is coupled to the lip 32 proximate to a circumference 54 of the opening 28 and a respective intersection 20, as shown in
[0021] In use, the sheet 12 is positioned over the mattress 14 so that the bands 52 that are positioned on the lip 32 extend over the lower perimeter 34 of the mattress 14 to couple the shell 16 to the mattress 14. The pad 36, which is scented, freshens the room in which the mattress 14 is positioned.
[0022] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0023] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
