    DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0019] For a further understanding of the nature and function of the embodiments, reference should be made to the following detailed description.

[0020] A multi-purpose smoker tool 5 for use with smoking pipes is shown in FIGS. 1-7 and includes a poker and two different types of tampers. For purposes of this application, the term smoking pipes includes, but is not limited to, hand pipes, electronic pipes, water pipes, hookahs, shisha pipe, and other smoking devices which burn or vaporize a smokable material (e.g., tobacco, cloves, shisha, hemp) where the user needs to maintain the smokable material and/or clean ash out of the combustion chamber. The tool 5 is formed from a single unitary body 10 having a top portion 15 and bottom portion 20. Either portion 15, 20 may include a tamper operable for packing tobacco into a bowl or other orifice for smoking. As shown in the figures, the preferred embodiment of a tamper may include a dome 25, or other curvilinear shape operable to fill a reamed pipe, along with a dome base 26. Alternatively, the tamper could include a flat surface 30. Although not shown, it is anticipated that the tampers for the tool 5 could take the form of a variety of shapes and sizes so long as it is operable to accomplish the intended function of the tamper. The poker 35 protrudes from the body 10 and is typically conically shaped with a base 40 and a terminating distal point or apex 45. The length of the poker 35 may vary to accommodate deeper pipe bowls, as shown in FIG. 8. For example, the length of the poker 35 may range from the standard length of 20 mm up to 50 mm. The base 40 may further include a curvilinear portion 50 where it joins the body that is configured to provide an ergonomic landing for a user's fingers to rest when using the tool 5. It is anticipated that the poker 35 may take on a variety of shapes and sizes so long as the protrusion that forms the poker 35 is operable to clear any debris or aerate any tightly packed material or tobacco. Turning to FIGS. 9A-C, an alternative embodiment of the poker 35 may include a variety of protrusion 55 such as curvilinear fins or edges created by recesses in the poker which are disposed along the surface such that the poker may also function as a reamer.

[0021] One example embodiment of the tool 5 has a total length of approximately 2.25 inches. The dome 25 is sized and dimensioned to fill a 20 mm reamed pipe with a dome base 26 having a diameter approximately 22 mm.

[0022] For any of the aforementioned embodiments, the tool 5 may be made from thermoplastics or metals. Additionally, the tool 5 may be coupled to a key chain, lanyard, or some other accessory. This can be accomplished in a number of ways using connection means known in the art, including by having a hole or slit pre-molded into the body 10 or coupled to the exterior surface of the body 10 such that the hole or slit is configured to receive the chain or lanyard.

[0023] For the purposes of promoting an understanding of the principles of the invention, reference has been made to the preferred embodiments illustrated in the drawings, and specific language has been used to describe these embodiments. However, this specific language intends no limitation of the scope of the invention, and the invention should be construed to encompass all embodiments that would normally occur to one of ordinary skill in the art. The particular implementations shown and described herein are illustrative examples of the invention and are not intended to otherwise limit the scope of the invention in any way. For the sake of brevity, conventional aspects of the system (and components of the individual operating components of the system) may not be described in detail. Furthermore, the connecting lines, or connectors shown in the various figures presented are intended to represent exemplary functional relationships and/or physical or logical couplings between the various elements. It should be noted that many alternative or additional functional relationships, physical connections or logical connections may be present in a practical device. Moreover, no item or component is essential to the practice of the invention unless the element is specifically described as “essential” or “critical”. Numerous modifications and adaptations will be readily apparent to those skilled in this art without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention.
