Abstract
Disclosed is a method for producing components from fiber-reinforced thermoplastic on the basis of fiber tapes impregnated with matrix material. The method includes manufacturing a multitude of semi-finished products, each of which has a plurality of non-consolidated layers of fiber tapes. The semi-finished products are placed in a consolidation device in such a way that the semi-finished products are in direct contact with one another. The semi-finished products are then consolidated using the consolidation device and the semi-finished products are at least partially joined to one another during the consolidation process. The joined semi-finished products are then cut apart using a cutting device.
Claims
1. A method for producing components from thermoplastic fiber-reinforced plastic, formed from fiber tapes that are impregnated with a matrix material, the method comprising the steps of: producing a multiplicity of semi-finished products which each have a plurality of non-consolidated layers of fiber tapes; disposing the semi-finished products in a consolidation installation in such a manner that the semi-finished products are in direct mutual contact; consolidating the semi-finished products by means of the consolidation installation, the semi-finished products being at least partially interconnected during the step of consolidating the semi-finished products; and subsequently severing the interconnected semi-finished products by means of a separation device.
2. The method according to claim 1, wherein the step of consolidating the semi-finished products includes moving the semi-finished products through a multiplicity of heating zones within the consolidation installation in a continuous process.
3. The method according to claim 1, wherein the step of disposing the semi-finished products is carried out in a fully automated manner.
4. The method according to claim 2, wherein the step of disposing the semi-finished products is carried out in a fully automated manner.
5. The method according to claim 1, wherein, prior to the step of consolidating the semi-finished products, the method further comprises the step of: disposing, in each case, one or a plurality of external insert elements between two directly neighboring semi-finished products.
6. The method according to claim 5, wherein the external insert elements in terms of the shape and/or size thereof are adapted to the two directly neighboring semi-finished products.
7. The method according to claim 1, wherein the semi-finished products each have a frame shape having at least one clearance and wherein, prior to the step of consolidating the semi-finished products, disposing, in each case, an internal insert element in the at least one clearance.
8. The method according to claim 6, wherein the semi-finished products each have a frame shape having at least one clearance and wherein, prior to the step of consolidating the semi-finished products, disposing, in each case, an internal insert element in the at least one clearance.
9. The method according to claim 7, wherein the step of disposing an internal insert element is carried out in a fully automated manner.
10. The method according to claim 7, wherein the internal insert element is fixedly connected to a belt of the consolidation installation.
11. The method according to claim 10, wherein the belt of the consolidation installation is an endless belt of the consolidation installation.
12. The method according to claim 7, wherein the internal insert element in terms of the shape and/or size thereof is adapted to the corresponding clearance.
13. The method according to claim 7, wherein the internal insert element after being disposed in the corresponding clearance has on all sides a spacing from the semi-finished products of at most 5 mm.
14. The method according to claim 7, wherein the internal insert element includes polytetrafluoroethylene or is composed of polytetrafluoroethylene.
15. The method according to claim 1, wherein at least one of the semi-finished products has a plurality of inboard clearances and wherein the method further comprises the step of: prior to the step of consolidating the semi-finished products, disposing, in each case, one internal insert element in the plurality of inboard clearances.
16. The method according to claim 1, wherein the consolidation installation is configured as a combined pressing and heating installation.
17. The method according to claim 1, wherein the consolidation installation is configured as a dual-belt press.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0027] Identical or equivalent component parts can be provided with the same reference sign in each of the exemplary embodiments and figures. In principle, the elements illustrated and the mutual size ratios thereof are not to be considered as being to scale. Rather, for the sake of improved clarity and/or understanding, individual elements can be illustrated so as to be exaggerated in thickness or in dimensional size.
[0028]
[0029] In a method step shown in
[0030] In a method step shown in
[0031] The interconnected semi-finished products 1 are subsequently separated by means of a separation device 7 which can follow the consolidation installation 5. After separation of the semi-finished products 1, the semi-finished products 1 are again available in a singularized form, that is to say, the semi-finished products 1 after the separation procedure by means of the separation device 7 are no longer interconnected. The separation device 7 can be configured as a cutter, a circular cutter, scissors, a laser, an ultrasonic blade, or as an oscillating blade, for example.
[0032] A method as described herein according to a further embodiment is illustrated in
[0033] The internal insert elements 6 in the exemplary embodiment shown are composed of Teflon. Alternatively, the internal insert elements 6 can also be produced from aluminum, for example. The internal insert elements 6 are preferably adapted to the respective clearances 4. It is, in particular, preferable for the internal insert elements 6 in terms of the shape, size, and/or number thereof to be adapted to the clearances 4 of the semi-finished products 1. For example, the internal insert elements 6 in the lateral direction have a spacing from the semi-finished products 1 of at most 5 mm.
[0034]
[0035] The semi-finished products 1, prior to consolidation of the semi-finished products 1 by means of the consolidation installation 5, are disposed so as to be in direct mutual contact, and external insert elements 8 are disposed between two directly neighboring semi-finished products 1. The external insert elements 8 in terms of the shape and size thereof are preferably adapted to that of the directly neighboring semi-finished products. By means of the external insert elements 8, semi-finished products of any external contour can advantageously be consolidated in a continuous consolidation process.
