Abstract
The present invention discloses a disposable negative-pressure anterior chamber Paracentesis syringe which belongs to the technical field of medical supplies. It comprises nine parts, including a needle cap, a Paracentesis syringe, a needle base, an internal needle, a protective cover of the internal needle, an airlock, a needle tube, a collection tube and a collection tube rack. The invention has the advantages that it fixes the Paracentesis syringe during puncture and limits the depth of the needle insertion, releases the aqueous humor slowly to prevent a sudden drop of the intraocular pressure, reduces the risk of the intraocular infection by separating the anterior chamber from outside and the collection tube can collect and store the aqueous humor directly.
Claims
1-15. (canceled)
16. A paracentesis syringe, comprising: a syringe barrel; a needle base at least partially fitted within the syringe barrel and having a front end and a back end; a needle having a paracentesis end and an internal portion, wherein the needle base is configured to hold the needle; and a collection tube having a front end and a body for collecting aqueous humor, wherein the collection tube is configured to move inside the syringe barrel towards the needle such that the internal portion of the needle penetrates through the front end of the collection tube into the body for collecting aqueous humor.
17. The paracentesis syringe of claim 16, wherein the paracentesis end of the needle is configured to penetrate a corneal limbus.
18. The paracentesis syringe of claim 16, wherein the needle penetrates through and is fixed in the needle base.
19. The paracentesis syringe of claim 16, further comprising an elastic material configured to cover the internal portion of the needle.
20. The paracentesis syringe of claim 19, wherein an elastic protective cover is connected to the needle base and extends to cover the internal portion of the needle.
21. The paracentesis syringe of claim 20, wherein the back end of the needle base is provided with a cylinder configured to fix the elastic protective cover thereon.
22. The paracentesis syringe of claim 16, wherein the front end of the needle base has a cambered surface configured to fit on a corneal limbus, a curve of the cambered surface being substantially equal to a curve of the corneal limbus.
23. The paracentesis syringe of claim 16, wherein the collection tube is operated by a negative pressure.
24. The paracentesis syringe of claim 16, wherein the front end of the collection tube comprises: an opening, and an airlock situated at the opening and configured to engage the syringe barrel.
25. The paracentesis syringe of claim 24, wherein the airlock has a front end and a back section, wherein the front end of the airlock has a first concave configured for receiving the internal portion of the needle to penetrate therethrough.
26. The paracentesis syringe of claim 25, wherein the back section of the airlock has a second concave configured for the internal portion of the needle to penetrate therethrough.
27. The paracentesis syringe of claim 16, wherein the collection tube is a 0.5 mL collection tube.
28. The paracentesis syringe of claim 16, wherein the collection tube is configured to be separated from the syringe barrel.
29. The paracentesis syringe of claim 16, further comprising a collection tube rack connected to the collection tube and configured to move the collection tube.
30. A method for collecting aqueous humor from a subject using the paracentesis syringe of claim 16, comprising: puncturing a cornea into an anterior chamber of the subject with the paracentesis end of the needle; moving the collection tube towards the needle, such that the internal portion of the needle penetrates through the front end of the collection tube into the body for collecting aqueous humor; allowing aqueous humor from the anterior chamber to pass through the needle and flow into the collection tube under a pressure difference between an intraocular pressure and a negative pressure of the collection tube; and pulling the paracentesis syringe out from the anterior chamber.
31. The method of claim 30, further comprising removing the collection tube containing aqueous humor collected therein from the syringe barrel.
32. The method of claim 31, further comprising testing the collected aqueous humor for diagnosis of uveitis or masquerade syndrome in the subject.
