Abstract

A new and distinct cultivar of Zinnia plant named ‘G13165’, characterized by its upright, outwardly spreading and uniformly mounded plant habit; vigorous growth habit; freely branching habit; dense and full plant form; uniform and freely flowering habit; relatively large single-type inflorescences; scarlet red-colored ray florets; florets that are sterile and do not produce seeds; and good resistance to Powdery Mildew.

DETAILED BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION

[0033] The aforementioned photographs and following observations and measurements describe plants grown during the spring and summer in 35.5-cm containers in a glass-covered greenhouse in Bellefonte, Pa. and under cultural practices typical of commercial Zinnia production. During the production of the plants, day temperatures ranged from 21° to 32° C., night temperatures ranged from 13° C. to 18° C. and light levels ranged from 500 to 1,500 foot candles. Plants were pinched once during propagation and were five months old when the description was taken. In the following description, color references are made to The Royal Horticultural Society Colour Chart, 2007 Edition, except where general terms of ordinary dictionary significance are used.
