Abstract
A double-barreled firearm having a slide having a slide body, a first barrel, a second barrel in parallel with first barrel, a firing chamber having a first firing chamber and having a second firing chamber and a mechanism for firing only one chamber thereof. The mechanism has a selector switch having a selector switch channel, two feed bar assemblies, two extractor assemblies and a retainer. The selector rod has a proximal end, a distal end and a feed bar notch. The distal end is in rotational communication with the firing chamber. The proximal end engages with the selector switch channel such that when the selector switch is pushed from side to side, the proximal end travels along the selector switch channel causing selector rod to rotate. The two feed bar assemblies are in communication with the feed bar notch of the selector rod. Each of the two feed bar assemblies have a feed bar face. The two extractor assemblies are in communication with the selector rod. Each of the extractor assemblies has an extractor claw and a claw pushrod. A linkage is in communication with each of the claw push rods. The retainer is in communication with the distal end of the selector rod and with the firing chamber.
Claims
1. A double-barreled firearm, comprising: a slide having a slide body, a first barrel, a second barrel in parallel with first barrel, and a firing chamber comprising a first firing chamber corresponding to the first barrel and a second firing chamber corresponding to the second barrel; and a mechanism for selectively firing only one chamber of the first firing chamber and the second firing chamber, the mechanism comprising a selector switch having a selector switch channel and a selector rod in communication with the selector switch.
2. The firearm of claim 1, wherein the selector rod comprises a distal end, a proximal end, and a feed bar notch.
3. The firearm of claim 2, wherein the slide further comprises: two feed bar assemblies in communication with the feed bar notch, each feed bar assembly of the two feed bar assemblies comprising a feed bar face; two extractor assemblies in communication with the selector rod, each extractor assembly of the two extractor assemblies comprising an extractor claw and a claw pushrod; and a linkage in communication with each claw push rod.
4. The firearm of claim 2, wherein the selector rod distal end is in rotational communication with the firing chamber.

The firearm of claim 2, wherein the selector rod proximal end is configured to engage the selector switch channel such that, when said selector switch is pushed from side to side, the selector rod proximal end is configured to travel along the selector switch channel, whereby the selector rod is configured to rotate.
6. The firearm of claim 2, wherein the retainer is in communication with the selector rod distal end.
7. The firearm of claim 1, wherein the first barrel and the second barrel are configured to accommodate ammunition comprising a same caliber.
8. The firearm of claim 1, wherein the first barrel and the second barrel are configured to accommodate ammunition comprising a different caliber.
9. The firearm of claim 1, wherein the mechanism prevents firing from the first barrel and the second barrel.
10. The firearm of claim 1, wherein the selector rod comprises a distal end, a proximal end, and a feed bar notch. wherein the slide further comprises: two feed bar assemblies in communication with the feed bar notch, each feed bar assembly of the two feed bar assemblies comprising a feed bar face; two extractor assemblies in communication with the selector rod, each extractor assembly of the two extractor assemblies comprising an extractor claw and a claw pushrod; and a linkage in communication with each claw push rod, wherein the selector rod distal end is in rotational communication with the firing chamber, wherein the selector rod proximal end is configured to engage the selector switch channel such that, when said selector switch is pushed from side to side, the selector rod proximal end travels along the selector switch channel whereby the selector rod rotates, wherein the retainer is in communication with the selector rod distal end, wherein the first barrel and the second barrel are configured to accommodate ammunition comprising one of a same caliber and a different caliber, and wherein the mechanism prevents firing from the first barrel and the second barrel.
11. A method of fabricating a double-barreled firearm, comprising: providing a slide, providing the slide comprising providing a slide body, providing a first barrel, providing a second barrel in parallel with first barrel, and providing a firing chamber, providing the firing chamber comprising providing a first firing chamber corresponding to the first barrel and providing a second firing chamber corresponding to the second barrel; providing a mechanism for selectively firing only one chamber of the first firing chamber and the second firing chamber, providing the mechanism comprising providing a selector switch, providing the selector switch comprising providing a selector switch channel and providing a selector rod in communication with the selector switch; and providing a retainer in communication with the selector rod and the firing chamber.
12. The method of claim 11, wherein providing the selector rod comprises: providing a distal end, providing a proximal end, and providing a feed bar notch.
13. The method of claim 12, wherein the slide further comprises: providing two feed bar assemblies in communication with the feed bar notch, providing the two feed bar assemblies comprising providing each feed bar assembly with a feed bar face; providing two extractor assemblies in communication with the selector rod, providing the two extractor assemblies comprising providing each extractor assembly with an extractor claw and a claw pushrod; and providing a linkage in communication with each claw push rod.
14. The method of claim 12, wherein providing the selector rod distal end comprises providing the selector rod distal end in rotational communication with the firing chamber.
15. The method of claim 12, wherein providing the selector rod proximal end comprises configuring the select rod proximal end as engageable with the selector switch channel such that, when said selector switch is pushed from side to side, the selector rod proximal end is capable of traveling along the selector switch channel, whereby the selector rod is rotatable.
16. The method of claim 12, wherein providing the retainer comprises providing the retainer in communication with the selector rod distal end.
17. The method of claim 11, wherein providing the first barrel and providing the second barrel comprises configuring the first barrel and the second barrel to accommodate ammunition comprising a same caliber.
18. The method of claim 11, wherein providing the first barrel and providing the second barrel comprises configuring the first barrel and the second barrel to accommodate ammunition comprising a different caliber.
19. The method of claim 11, wherein providing the mechanism comprises configuring the mechanism to prevent firing from the first barrel and the second barrel.
20. A method of switching firing between each barrel of a two-barreled firearm, comprising: providing the two-barreled firearm, the firearm providing comprising: providing a slide, providing the slide comprising providing a slide body, providing a first barrel, providing a second barrel in parallel with first barrel, and providing a firing chamber, providing the firing chamber comprising providing a first firing chamber corresponding to the first barrel and providing a second firing chamber corresponding to the second barrel; providing a mechanism for selectively firing only one chamber of the first firing chamber and the second firing chamber, providing the mechanism comprising providing a selector switch, providing the selector switch comprising providing a selector switch channel and providing a selector rod in communication with the selector switch; and providing a retainer in communication with the selector rod and the firing chamber; and actuating the selector rod, thereby selecting one of the first firing chamber and the second firing chamber, thereby providing a selected firing chamber, and thereby firing the selected firing chamber.
