Filtered product bag with compact form factor
A product bag includes a bladder and an elongated filtration device. The bladder includes opposing first and second film layers defining a product chamber. The first and second film layers are sealed together along a perimeter seal extending along at least a portion of a perimeter of the bladder. The elongated filtration device includes a housing, a filtration membrane disposed in the housing, an inlet adapted for receiving a fluid to be filtered, and an outlet in fluid communication with the product chamber. A majority of the elongated filtration device is embedded between the first and second film layers of the perimeter seal of the bladder to provide for a compact form factor.
Gastroretentive drug delivery device having expandable structure and manufacturing method therefor
The present disclosure provides a gastroretentive drug delivery device having an expandable structure. The drug delivery device includes: a capsule body; an arm moving part movable within the capsule body; an elastic body positioned between one end of the capsule body and the arm moving part and acting to move the arm moving part toward the other end of the capsule body; an arm support part movable within the capsule body; a capsule cap configured to engage the other end of the capsule body; a rail formed within the capsule body; and an arm configured to be unfolded by longitudinal movement of the arm moving part and move along the rail. A disintegrable immediate-release formulation is positioned between the arm moving part and the arm support part. A disintegrable sustained-release formulation is positioned between the arm support part and the capsule cap.
Infusion cannula unit made of plastic
An infusion cannula unit made of plastic has a cannula for insertion in a blood vessel. A housing of the unit has a supply line portion the line axis of which runs at an angle relative to a cannula longitudinal axis, said angle being greater than 10°. The supply line portion is in fluid communication with a lumen of the cannula. The infusion cannula unit has a one-piece design. This results in a unit which is easy to produce and in particular suitable for mass production.
Multi-function Oral Appliance
Example embodiments of the present invention provide a multi-function oral appliance, comprising an elastomeric polymer, a hard non-elastic polymer, or a combination of the two fused together; formed using 3D printing or vacuum-forming; configured to engage all or part of the bottom and top teeth such that the lower jaw is advanced, e.g., 8 mm, anterior to its habitual resting position and opened, e.g., 8 mm, from its habitual resting position when the appliance is applied; and configured such that, e.g., 90%, or more, of airflow through the mouth is blocked by the appliance. In some embodiments, the appliance is configured to include gel-wells in the interior of the appliance.
CONTAINER FOR PACKAGING UNITS
The present disclosure describes a container that includes a body having a lower surface, an upper rim, and a plurality of side walls that extend between the lower surface and the upper rim, wherein the upper rim defines an opening to an interior space of the body, a flexible cover that covers the opening of the body and is bonded to the body along the upper rim, and gas-permeable material through which gas can enter and exit the interior space of the body. The upper rim of the body is spaced apart from any of the gas-permeable material, such that the cover can be peeled away from the upper rim to expose the opening while leaving the gas-permeable material intact.
PROCESSING METHOD FOR PACKAGING UNITS
The present disclosure describes a method that includes receiving a plurality of packaging units made of glass; coating at least a portion of an outer surface of each packaging unit with low-friction coating; curing the low-friction coating applied to the outer surface of each packaging unit; receiving a container configured to store the plurality of packaging units; and arranging each packaging unit in the container with the outer surface of each packaging unit able to touch the outer surface of one or more adjacent packaging units.
Device and Method to Produce Dialysate
The present invention provides a novel device and method of generating and bagging dialysate for continuous veno-venous hemodialysis (CVVHD). The procedure involves the use of standard hemodialysis (HD) equipment and the device of the present invention. The device of the present invention is an adapter configured to be used with standard hemodialysis equipment.
Ingestible device with pharmaceutical product
A pharmaceutical product including a housing that defines a cavity, wherein the cavity stores a pharmaceutical material, and wherein the housing comprises a material configured to dissolve based on contact with a fluid, an ingestible device to encode information in a current signature, wherein the ingestible device is positioned within the housing, and a protective material that encompasses the ingestible device. The ingestible device may be attached to a flexible component, wherein the flexible component is configured to releasably secure the ingestible device within the housing.
Drug delivery device with activation prevention feature
A wearable drug delivery device includes an injector having a housing, a reservoir, a needle or cannula, a drive mechanism for urging drug product out of the reservoir, through the needle or cannula, and to a patient, and an activator mechanism disposed on a surface of the housing for activating the drive mechanism. An activation prevention mechanism is coupled to the injector housing and/or activation prevention mechanism to prevent inadvertent actuation of the activator mechanism.
Blood component collection cassette and manufacturing method of the same
A blood component collection cassette that can trap a substance where blood components coagulate by using a simple and economical configuration, and a manufacturing method of the blood component collection cassette are provided. A blood component collection cassette (28) includes a cassette main body (40) where a flow path (42) is formed and is configured to be mountable to a centrifugal separation device (14). The cassette main body (40) has a first sheet (40a) and a second sheet (40b) which are formed of a soft material. The flow path (42) is formed between the first sheet (40a) and the second sheet (40b). A filter member (60) for trapping a substance where blood components coagulate is arranged on the flow path (42) in the cassette main body (40).
