##STR00001##
wherein R.sup.1 is independently a C.sub.1-7 alkyl group and wherein the modified carbohydrate polymer has a Kjeldahl nitrogen content, TKN, corrected for ash and volatiles, of 0.75 to 2.5 wt %; and (ii) hydrophobic substituents having 16 carbon atoms; wherein the modified carbohydrate polymer comprises 0.005 to 1.5 wt %, based on weight of the cellulose ether base material, of the hydrophobic substituents; wherein the hydrophobic substituents are randomly distributed across the backbone of the cellulose ether base material; wherein the cellulose ether base material has a weight average molecular weight, M.sub.W, of >1,000,000 Daltons; and wherein the modified carbohydrate polymer has <0.001 wt %, based on weight of modified carbohydrate polymer, of crosslinking units.
SULFATE FREE PERSONAL CLEANSING COMPOSITION COMPRISING LOW INORGANIC SALT
Personal cleansing compositions having an anionic surfactant, cationic deposition polymer, a level of inorganic salt of from about 0 to about 1 wt %, and an aqueous carrier. The composition is substantially free of sulfate containing surfactants. The composition can further comprise amphoteric surfactants. The composition remains phase stable, and minimizes coacervate formulation until after dilution with water.
COSMETIC COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF USE
Keratin protein cosmetic compositions are provided that include at least one keratin protein derived from human hair and a base cosmetic solution. Methods of treatment are also provided.
AVENANTHRAMIDE COMPOSITIONS WITH IMPROVED SOLUBILITY COMPRISING 4-HYDROXYPHENONE
The present invention relates generally to: a composition comprising or consisting of at least one avenantlrramide or an analogue thereof and 4-hydroxyacetophenone with an improved solubility; its cosmetic or medical use; the use of such composition N for the preparation of foods, food supplements, cosmetic, pharmaceutical or veterinary preparations; and foods, food supplements, cosmetic, pharmaceutical or veterinary perparations comprising such a composition. Finally, the present invention relates to 4-hydrox-yacetophenone for improving solutility of an avenantramide or an analogue thereof.
HAIR TREATMENT COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF USE
Hair treatment compositions are provided that include alpha keratin and gamma keratin proteins derived from human hair, at least one biomimetic signal peptide, and red clover extract. Methods of treatment are also provided.
METHODS FOR STRENGTHENING AND REPAIRING HAIR
Provided are method for using phytic acid (PA), alone or in combination with glucono-delta-lactone (GL) to strengthen and/or repair hair.
NON-SILICONE SILKY FRAGRANCE PRODUCT FOR HAIR
A non-aerosol and non-oily fragrance product comprising a uniformly diffusive hair mist spray formulation including: about 0.1-15.0 percent by weight fragrance, about 5.0-10.0 percent by weight solubilizer, about 3.0-4.9 percent by weight ethylhexylglycerin, about 0.5-5.0 percent by weight propanediol, about 38.0-50 percent by weight alcohol, and up to about 45.0 percent by weight water (aqua). The product can also include about 0.01-15.0 percent by weight additives such as amino acid complex. The hair mist product is free of silicone, which can weigh down the hair, and contains no quaternium or cationic compounds. The hair mist spray is VOC compliant, exhibits long-lasting fragrance notes, and enhances hair shine with a non-greasy and silky luxurious feel.
Polymer for treating hair
The present invention relates to a polymer comprising repeating units derived from at least one first monomer (monomer A) which is a molecule comprising a thiolactone ring and an ethylenically unsaturated, polymerizable double bond, and at least one second monomer (monomer B) which is N-vinyl pyrrolidone. Furthermore the present invention relates to a modified polymer, the structure of which is identical to the structure of the said polymer apart from the only difference, which is that all or at least some of the thiolactone moieties of the said polymer are modified by opening the thiolactone ring with a substance selected from the group consisting of ammonia, a primary amine, 2-amino-1-ethanol and L-lysine, wherein the N-atom of said substance is binding to the carbonyl group of the opened thiolactone ring. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a process for making the modified polymer and to the use of the polymer or of the modified polymer for treating hair.
Hydrous hair care compositions and methods
Methods and compositions for preventing or reducing hair frizz. The compositions are preferably oil-in-water or water-in-oil emulsions comprise at least one polysiloxane fluid component selected from an amodimethicone and a polysiloxane component comprising a plurality of hindered amine side chains. The compositions also comprise a silicone-compatible, volatile or non-volatile liquid carrier component, preferably comprising a component selected from a low molecular weight, volatile siloxy component; a hydrocarbon; and an alcohol. The compositions are preferably combing cremes, sprays or mousses, and are suitable for use a “leave-in” hair care product, or as a touch-up hair care product suitable for use during the day.
