Compositions for altering the color of hair

The disclosure relates to compositions for treating keratinous substrates, such as the hair, comprising monoethanolamine and at least one carboxylic acid, as well as systems and methods for treating keratinous substrates with the compositions.

Use

The present invention relates to the use of erythrulose as antimicrobial agent as well as to composition comprising said agent.

Antimicrobial preservatives for cosmetic products

A method for producing an antimicrobial agent is provided. The method includes co-fermenting at least one bacterium and at least one yeast in a growth media to produce a co-fermented product. The co-fermented product includes an antimicrobial agent. A filtration method is applied to the co-fermented product to isolate and extract the antimicrobial agent from the co-fermented product, wherein the antimicrobial agent is a secondary metabolite.

HAIR TREATMENT COMPOSITIONS, METHODS, AND KITS FOR TREATING HAIR

The instant disclosure relates to hair treatment compositions that include a unique combination of components that function to impart desirable cosmetic properties to the hair. The hair treatment compositions typically include: at least 0.5 wt. % of at least one non-polymeric mono, di, or tricarboxylic acid, and/or a salt thereof; one or more amines selected from the group consisting of diamines, polyamines, alkylamines, alkanolamines, and a mixture thereof; one or more fructan polysaccharides; one or more prosolvents; and water.

Aspects of the disclosure relate to hair treatment compositions including about 0.1 to about 10 wt. % of a cationic surfactant; about 0.1 to about 10 wt. % of a fatty acid having a carbon chain of 12 or more carbons; about 0.1 to about 20 wt. % of a fatty alcohol; and about 50 wt. % or more of water, wherein all weight percentages are based on the total weight of the hair treatment composition. Additionally, the hair treatment compositions are formulated to have a molar ratio of the total amount of cationic surfactant to the total amount of fatty acid is about 1:0.8 to about 1:3 and a pH of about 2.5 to about 5.5. The disclosure also relates to methods for applying such hair treatment compositions.
