Device and method for opening an airway
A device and a method for creating and/or maintaining an obstruction free upper respiratory passages. The device is configured to fit under the chin of a subject adjacent to the subject's neck at an external location corresponding approximately with the subject's internal soft tissue associated with the neck's anterior triangle. The device is capable of exerting negative pressure on the surface of a subject's neck, displacing the soft tissue forward and enlarging the airway.
Biometric and environmental monitoring and control system
The present invention is a wearable device for comprehensive bio-monitoring of physiologic metrics to determine metabolic, pulmonary and cardiac function and oxygen saturation measurements from breathing mask apparatuses. The device non-invasively monitors the physiologic profile of the subject, and is capable of detecting physiologic changes, predicting onset of symptoms, and alerting the wearer or another person or system. In some embodiments, the device comprises both a wearable sensor suite and a portable gas composition and flow analysis system. In preferred embodiments, it comprises a miniaturized non-invasive sensor suite for detecting physiologic changes to detect dangerous breathing or other health conditions. The system utilizes advanced fast-response sensors with improved efficiency and lifespan, and provides rapid analysis for substantially real-time monitoring of the subject's present condition to predict, mitigate and/or prevent the onset of dangerous conditions.
Plenum chamber insert for patient interface
A patient interface includes: a plenum chamber; a seal-forming structure; a positioning and stabilising structure; a plenum chamber insert configured to be positioned and retained within the plenum chamber; and a vent structure; wherein the plenum chamber insert has a plenum chamber insert port; wherein the plenum chamber insert has an exterior surface configured to be positioned adjacent to an interior surface of the plenum chamber; wherein when the plenum chamber insert is positioned and retained within the plenum chamber, a radial channel is formed by the interior surface of the plenum chamber and the exterior surface of the plenum chamber insert such that gas is able to pass between a patient-proximal side plenum chamber insert and a patient-distal side of the plenum chamber insert via the radial channel during use.
END OF SERVICE LIFE INDICATOR FOR DISPOSAL MASK
Embodiments relate generally to methods and systems for detecting and indicating end-of-service-life in disposable filtration masks. Applicant has proposed incorporating end-of-service-life indicators comprising color changing chemicals into the mask. The indicating chemicals may be incorporated into the nonwoven fabric material of the mask, or may be attached to the nonwoven material of the mask, such as by dipping, spraying, or adhering. The color change of the indicating chemicals may indicate to a user that the use life of the mask has been depleted.
COMPOSITIONS FOR REDUCING INHALATION OF TOXIC AIR POLLUTION COMPONENTS
The present invention relates to a composition, textile, and mask for reducing the inhalation of pollutants. The composition includes an aqueous solution of an inorganic iodide compound, a metal phthalocyanine, and a polymeric binder. The inorganic iodide can be cuprous iodide, the metal phthalocyanine can be iron phthalocyanine, and the polymeric binder can be polyvinylpyrrolidone or polyvinyl alcohol. This pollutant-inactivating composition neutralizes pollutants such as nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, ozone, volatile organic compounds and other unpleasant airborne agents, without requiring elevated temperatures or bulky canisters containing adsorbents. Optionally, a humectant can also be incorporated into the coating solution to retain moisture in the active filter matrix, which enhances the activity of the composition to inactivate oxidizing gases and other toxic constituents of air pollution.
Mask Device with Improved Comfort, Airflow, Humidity, and Temperature Characteristics and Providing a Means for Conducting Facial Exercises
The present application describes a mask, configured to be worn on a face of an individual, that has a porous mask frame made of a polymer, one or more fans positioned on the porous mask frame, a mask covering made of one or more layers of non-woven fabric, an energy source in electrical communication with the one or more fans and positioned on at least one of the mask frame or the mask covering. Alternatively, there one or more fans may be positioned on the masking covering without the aid of the mask frame.

PORTABLE AIR STERILIZER WITH OXYGEN GENERATOR
A personal protective wearable air sterilizing apparatus is comprised of a series of looped internal conduits, designed in such a way to allow total internal reflection of UV light, and the simultaneous sterilization of atmospheric air. The apparatus has oxygen generator using electrolysis of water and neutralizes hydrogen gas derived from the process to an inert compound such as hydrogen peroxide; or reuses the hydrogen to generate electricity.

Face mask for filtering air and air monitoring system
A face mask for filtering air includes a face seal for providing an airtight flexible seal around the nose and mouth of a user, a support sealably attached to the face seal, wherein the support has an open area that allows for passage of incoming air and outlet valves for expelling exhaled air, a front shell for removably attaching to the support, wherein the front shell has inlet holes for allowing the incoming air to pass through the open area of the support, and a filter for filtering particulate elements from air. The filter is configured to be housed between the front shell and the support. The face seal provides a direct connection between the filter and the user.
