The frame includes a first portion extending vertically upward or upward and forward to an upper end. The frame further includes a second portion extending generally rearward from the upper end of the first portion. A seat is on the second portion of the frame. A shock absorber is connected between the base and the frame. A linkage assembly is pivotably connected between the base and the first portion of the frame.

Method and apparatus for early detection of diabetic foot disorders by analyzing foot temperature and vertical and shear forces on feet
11596832 · 2023-03-07 · ·

A system for analysis of user gait and foot disorder intended to minimize risks ulceration and limb amputation associated with the uncontrolled increase of the foot temperature in persons with diabetes. This system comprises a motion, force and temperature sensors and a processing element configured to process motion algorithms, measure ground reaction force (GRF) and changes in foot temperature embedded in the footwear insoles in communication with a smartphone based analysis application using wireless radio interface. The analysis application processes data received from the footwear sensors, compares the results with set of criteria and rules, and if any of the predefined criteria is exceeded, provides alerts to the user and the remote medical supervisor. Additionally, the insoles may be equipped with a haptic actuators configured to determine the level of the user neuropathy by measuring vibration perception threshold (VPT) level.

Ski pole holder
09828004 · 2017-11-28 ·

A ski pole holder for attachment to a chairlift is disclosed. A lower body portion includes a slot slightly wider than a ski pole shaft. An upper body portion includes a floor with a slot corresponding to the lower body slot, a peripheral wall with an opening in front, and an attachment to a bar of the chairlift.

Elastomer encased motion sensor package

A motion sensor package with an elastomer layer that encases the sensor electronics, including the sensors, a processor, an antenna, and a battery. The elastomer layer may provide shock isolation and water resistance to protect the enclosed electronics. Embodiments may also include an outer housing into which the elastomer encased package is installed. The outer housing may for example comprise two cylindrical sections that screw together to close the outer housing. In one or more embodiments part of the outer housing may be integrated into an item of sports equipment. Embodiments for golf may also include a golf club grip adapter that is inserted into the top of a grip, and which attaches to the outer housing containing the elastomer enclosed sensor package.

Detachable chair lift leg rest and method of use
09737788 · 2017-08-22 ·

A detachable chair lift leg rest is disclosed. The leg rest includes a lower attachment member and an upper attachment member which are removably secured to the shaft of a ski pole. The disclosure also includes a hanger that is either permanently or removably secured to a ski boot. In one embodiment, lightweight hooks, are spaced apart so that when a skier is on a chairlift, the lower hook is parallel to the ski boot and the upper hook is at the correct height to attach to the chairlift's restraint bar creating a ninety degree angle between the skier's knees and their torso. The lower engagement member is hooked to the hanger on the ski boot and the upper engagement member is engaged with the restraint bar of the chair lift. The ski pole with the upper and lower engagement members affixed allow the weight of the skier's legs, boots, and skis to hang from the restraint bar thereby reducing the strain on the skier's body, specifically the skier's knees.

METHOD OF COUPLING A MOTION SENSOR TO A PIECE OF EQUIPMENT

Method for coupling a sensor to a piece of equipment, such as a golf club, baseball bat, or tennis racket, that ensures that the sensor is in a known position and orientation relative to the equipment. Compensates and calibrates for degrees of freedom introduced in manufacturing and installation. The method may include manufacturing a sensor receiver that aligns with equipment in a fixed orientation, and that holds a sensor housing in a fixed orientation relative to the receiver. Remaining uncertainties in sensor position and orientation may be addressed using post-installation calibration. Calibration may include performing specific calibration movements with the equipment and analyzing the sensor data collected during these calibration movements.

PERFORMANCE SYSTEM FOR SKIERS OR THE LIKE
20170259157 · 2017-09-14 ·

A leg stabilization or performance system for a skier or snowboarder that absorbs part of the pressure on a user's legs and drives the resistance force down to user's boots, acting like a shock absorber is disclosed. This function also allows the skis or snowboard to keep closer contact with the snow, giving the skier/snowboarder more control through the turns. The performance system includes removably fixable leg straps, upper and lower adjustable leg shafts or portions, a resistance assembly with a shock absorber and a variable resistance adjuster, a boot attachment, and an activator switch. The configuration of the system allows a user to set the system to various levels of resistance.
