Wildfire defender
A system includes a processing device and memory device storing instructions that result in accessing a first dataset including aerial imagery data, accessing a second dataset including property boundary data, and identifying property boundaries associated with a geographic area. A plurality of artificial-intelligence (AI) models are applied to the datasets to identify and compute information of interest. Based on the first dataset and constrained by the property boundaries, a building detection model can be applied to identify a building footprint, and a tree detection model can be applied to identify one or more trees. An estimated distance can be determined between each of the trees and a nearest portion of the building footprint as separation data, which can be compared to a defensible space guideline to determine a defensible space adherence score. A wildfire risk map can be generated, including the defensible space adherence score associated with the geographic area.

FORESTRY MACHINE
A forestry machine includes a ground propulsion apparatus, a chassis supported by the ground propulsion apparatus, a cab, an engine and a work implement. The chassis includes a front chassis portion and a rear chassis portion. The front chassis portion includes an upper portion and a lower portion. The rear chassis portion has a wood basket supported thereon. The cab is rotatably supported on the front chassis portion by a rotatable connection about a cab rotation axis to be selectively rotated 360 degrees. The engine is integrated into the front chassis portion. At least a part of the engine is disposed below an upper most surface of the upper portion. The work implement is movably attached to the cab. The work implement includes a boom movably attached to the cab, an arm movably attached to the boom, and a work tool attached to the arm.
Log wrapper safety device
A device for securing logs from harvested timber to a transport vehicle, or logging truck, using log wrappers. The log wrapper securement device can be located in the inspection cavity of a forestry grapple. The forestry grapple is attached to a log loader. The log wrapper securement device includes a base plate sized and shaped to replace the inspection plate covering the inspection cavity. The base plate includes a slot sized and shaped to receive a portion of a chain end link or other chain links of the log wrapper, which can be inserted manually. The loader operator can remotely control the actuator to secure the chain link and release it, once the log wrapper is positioned over the other side of the logging truck. The log wrapper securement device can potentially reduce injuries and save lives.
Method for assisting during execution of a sequence of cuttings in a tree, and system for assisting during execution of a sequence of cuttings in a tree
A method assists during execution of a sequence of cuttings in a tree, wherein, during a cutting sequence, a first cut in the tree is followed by a second cut in the tree At least a part of an ideal course of the second cut depends on at least a part of a course of the first cut. The method includes the steps of: identifying at least the part of the course of the first cut in the tree; precalculating at least the part of the ideal course of the second cut in the tree based on the identified part of the course of the first cut; and outputting cutting information for executing the second cut based on the precalculated part of the ideal course of the second cut.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR HANDLING BULK MATERIALS
An apparatus for handling bulk material, the apparatus comprising a spreader configured for attachment to a crane, the spreader having a spreader body having a first engagement formation. The apparatus includes a bulk material storage cradle having a first side member and a second side member, the first and second side members defining two opposing longitudinal side walls which are spaced relative to each other to define an internal bulk material storage receptacle. The bulk material storage cradle has a second engagement formation, and at least one gate member having a proximal end hingedly connected to a lower portion of the first side member and a distal end having a third engagement formation configured to selectively engage with a fourth engagement formation located at a lower portion of the second side member. The first engagement formation is selectively engageable with the second engagement formation to secure the spreader to the bulk material storage cradle. The third engagement formation is selectively disengageable from the fourth engagement formation to release the gate member from the second side member.
WILD FIRE PREVENTION APPARATUS
An apparatus for preventing wild fires is presented. The apparatus has a perimeter pipe for carrying water on the perimeter of a forest area. The apparatus also has a plurality of interior pipes coupled to the perimeter pipes. The plurality of interior pipes provide water to the interior of the forest area. The apparatus has a plurality of sensors that are collocated with the perimeter pipe determine information and environmental conditions. The apparatus has a control center coupled to the plurality of sensors for receiving the information and the conditions from the plurality of sensors. The apparatus further has a water source coupled to the perimeter pipe by an output pipe. The water source provides water in the output pipe to the perimeter pipe for distribution to the plurality of interior pipes. The water is then distributed to the forest area.
GRAPPLE POSITIONING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A WORK VEHICLE
A system and method of positioning a grapple of a skidder based on ground conditions and felled timber characteristics, or other material characteristics, such as conduit characteristics for pipe, being moved by the skidder. The vehicle includes a level sensor to determine slope of the vehicle based on ground slope and a traction device to determine a slip condition of the vehicle. Level sensors can include a gyroscope, an accelerometer, or a pitch/roll/yaw sensor. The grapple assembly is automatically positioned based on the vehicle slope, the slip condition, and the weight and/or the length of the felled timber being collected by the grapple.
Forestry Winch
This invention relates to a forestry winch that has a rope drum driven by a drive motor and an ejector roller driven by an additional drive motor, wherein a rope runs from the rope drum to the ejector roller and is guided over the ejector roller. The rope is pressed against the ejector roller by means of a pressing device. The pressing device has at least three pressing elements which are distributed around the periphery of the ejector roller.
