A catalytic converter 10 includes catalyst layers 2A, 2B formed of a noble metal catalyst that are formed on cell wall surfaces of a substrate 1 having a cell structure in a longitudinal direction of the substrate 1 in which gas flows, in which the substrate 1 has a center region 1A having a relatively high cell density and a peripheral region 1B having a relatively low cell density, and lengths of the catalyst layers 2A, 2B of the center region 1A and the peripheral region 1B in the longitudinal direction are the same as each other, or the length of the catalyst layer 2B in the longitudinal direction is shorter than that of the catalyst layer 2A.
Electrically heated catalyst device
An electrically heated catalyst device includes: a carrier configured to carry a catalyst; a pair of electric diffusion layers formed on an outer peripheral surface of the carrier so as to be opposed each other; and wiring members each fixed to each of the electric diffusion layers, and the carrier is electrically heated via the wiring members. Each of the electric diffusion layers is formed so as to be divided into a plurality of regions in an axial direction of the carrier.
GRAIN DRYER FILTERING APPARATUS AND METHOD
A grain dryer filtering apparatus includes a filter positioned near the inlet of the exhaust fan of the dryer, and a nozzle positioned near a portion of the filter. The nozzle is part of a rotary head. Attached to the rotary head is a vacuum source. The grain dryer also includes a head mover attached to the nozzle. The head mover moves the nozzle over other portions of the filter to remove material captured by the filter media. A method of filtering the exhaust from a grain dryer includes placing a filter near the input of an exhaust fan, capturing material at the filter media, and removing at least a portion of the captured material from the filter as the exhaust fan operates using a vacuum.
Air Purifying Vent System
A filter system includes a liquid filter unit, a HEPA filter unit and an air vent cover. The filter system is installed into an in-room air vent and purifies air received from a forced air system prior to its entrance into a room via the in-room air vent. In some embodiments, the filter system further includes a means for controlling a temperature of the air such that users are able to independently control air temperature in each room of a building.
Honeycomb filter and method for producing honeycomb filter
An object of the present invention is to provide a honeycomb filter capable of achieving a combination of high collection efficiency and low pressure loss. The honeycomb filter comprises a ceramic honeycomb substrate in which a multitude of cells through which a fluid flows are disposed in parallel in a longitudinal direction and are separated by cell walls, each cell being sealed at an end section at either the fluid inlet side or the fluid outlet side, and a filter layer which, among the surfaces of the cell walls, is formed on the surface of the cell walls of those cells in which the end section at the fluid inlet side is open and the end section at the fluid outlet side is sealed by a sealing material, wherein the thickness of the filter layer increases gradually from the fluid inlet side toward the fluid outlet side.
Catalyst structure
Provided is a catalyst structure which prevents an increase in pressure loss by a simple construction while the gas flow is efficiently stirred by a structure making contact between adjacent catalyst elements. The catalyst structure is provided with a first flat-plate part and a second flat-plate part which support, on surfaces thereof, a constituent having catalytic activity to an exhaust gas and face each other, and a stirring part which is provided in such a manner as to come into contact first with the first flat-plate part and the second flat-plate part in an extending manner from the first flat-plate part to the second flat-plate part at a prescribed angle with respect to the direction in which the exhaust gas flows.
Systems and methods for heat recovery
A filter unit heat exchanger is provided that may include a housing substantially surrounding a heat exchange assembly. Provided through the housing are one or more tortuous fluid flow paths used to direct airflow therethrough around portions of the heat exchange assembly for efficient operation. The tortuous path(s) may be provided by one or more nozzle openings on an input side of the housing and one or more diffuser openings on an output side of the housing, where the nozzle openings and diffuser openings are offset to cause desired airflow deflection. The filter unit may include desired symmetries to improve manufacturability and/or installation.
Controlling flow of black powder in hydrocarbon pipelines
Black powder flowing with hydrocarbons in a hydrocarbon pipeline is converted into a magnetorheological slurry by implementing wet scrubbing in the hydrocarbon pipeline. A flow of the magnetorheological slurry through the hydrocarbon pipeline is controlled.
Process for removal of aerosol droplets
The present disclosure relates to a process for removal of an aerosol, comprising the steps of directing a process gas comprising an aerosol to contact an inertial demister providing a first demisted process gas, and directing the first demisted process gas to contact a coalescing demister providing a second demisted process gas, characterized in said first inertial demister being more open than said coalescing demister, where more open is defined as having a higher void fraction or a lower density with the associated benefit of such a process providing an efficient removal of a large volume of liquid from the inertial demister, while avoiding flooding of the demister system. It further relates to a process plant for sulfuric acid production employing such a pair of demisters.
