Oxycombustion with CO.SUB.2 .capture in reverse flow reactors

Systems and methods are provided for using oxycombustion to provide heat within a reverse flow reactor environment. The oxygen for the oxycombustion can be provided by oxygen stored in an oxygen storage component in the reactor. By using an oxygen storage component to provide the oxygen for combustion during the regeneration step, heat can be added to a reverse flow reactor while reducing or minimizing addition of diluents and while avoiding the need for an air separation unit. As a result, a regeneration flue gas can be formed that is substantially composed of CO.sub.2 and/or H.sub.2O without requiring the additional cost of creating a substantially pure oxygen-containing gas flow.

SYNTHETIC PRODUCT PRODUCTION SYSTEM AND CARBON DIOXIDE TREATMENT SYSTEM

A synthetic product production system is provided with: a synthesis plant for producing a synthetic product by synthesizing a hydrogen-containing gas and carbon dioxide; and a carbon dioxide supply line for supplying the carbon dioxide to the synthesis plant from a recovery and storage plant including a recovery device for recovering the carbon dioxide from a carbon dioxide-containing gas and an injection facility for fixing the recovered carbon dioxide into a stratum.

PROCESS AND REACTOR FOR PRODUCING PHOSGENE

The invention relates to a process for producing phosgene by gas phase reaction of carbon monoxide and chlorine in the presence of a catalyst in a reactor that comprises a plurality of contact tubes arranged parallel to one another, which contact tubes are filled with the catalyst and around which at least one fluid heat transfer medium flows, a feed stream of a mixture of a chlorine input stream and a carbon monoxide input stream being conducted into the contact tubes and reacted to form a phosgene-containing product gas mixture, characterised in that the product gas mixture is discharged from the contact tubes at an outlet end of the contact tubes. The method according to the invention is characterised in that the gas phase reaction is carried out in the reactor such that the position of the highest temperature in a contact tube (hot spot) moves along the longitudinal axis of the contact tube at a predetermined rate of migration, the hot spot having a rate of migration in the longitudinal direction of the contact tubes which is in the range of 1 to 50 mm per day. The invention also relates to a reactor for carrying out the process.
