Shear retort for ablative pyrolysis
A shear retort mill for slow ablative pyrolysis features friction heating between shearing surfaces on a rotating disk and a static or rotating cylindrical drum enclosing the disk. A feed enters the workspace between the rotating disk and the bottom of the drum through a hollow feed shaft coupled to the rotating disk. Preferably, an auger compacts and moves the feed downward, and a shredder reduces the feed's particle size. The feed is increasingly ground and pyrolyzed as it is forced between the drum and disk shearing surface. As the dense processed material extrudes at the edge of the workspace, the gases and liquid products are forced inward by the barrier of dense solids. A static exhaust pipe at the center of the rotating feed shaft allows for the exit of these gases, which preferably go to a heat exchanger to recover any condensable fractions.
Electrocyclonic particle collector
An electrocyclonic particle collector (EPC) for removing particulate matter from a gas includes an EPC gas inlet, an EPC gas outlet, and an EPC gas flow path between the EPC gas inlet and the EPC gas outlet. A first section is downstream of the EPC gas inlet and includes a first cyclonic particle collector in the gas flow path for cyclonically removing particles from the gas. A second section is in series with the first section and includes a rotational flow chamber in the gas flow path, and at least a first electrode in the gas flow path for facilitating electrostatic removal of particles from the gas stream in the rotational flow chamber.
Electrostatic atomizing apparatus and electrically-charged water particle spraying apparatus
An electrostatic atomizing apparatus includes: a liquid nozzle portion for releasing a liquid column into an open space; a liquid conduit portion for introducing pressurized liquid into the liquid nozzle portion; a liquid-side electrode disposed inside the liquid conduit portion for coming into contact with the pressurized liquid; a gas conduit portion made of an insulation material and having a gas nozzle portion disposed around the liquid nozzle portion for converting the liquid column into fine particles to generate an atomized stream by making a gas stream from the gas nozzle portion act at an atomization point of the liquid column released into the open space from the liquid nozzle portion; and a ring-shaped induction electrode disposed around the atomization point located in the open space and having an electrode conductor made of a conductive material and coated with an insulation material.
Corona prevention in radio frequency circuits
A method for preventing corona effects in an electronic circuit comprising the steps of applying a parylene coating to a surface of the electronic circuit, and applying a polyalphaolefin dielectric oil having a dielectric constant that is lower than that of the parylene coating on an exposed surface of the first material.

Charging device and electric dust collector
A charging device or an electric dust collector has a downstream side grounded electrode plate 90 placed so as to obstruct the flow of a dust-containing air and having openings 91 for allowing the dust-containing air to pass therethrough, a supporting plate 60 placed on the upstream side of the electrode plate 90, and downstream side discharging electrodes 80b supported by the supporting plate 60 so as to extend from the supporting plate 60 towards the electrode plate 90, and placed so as to correspond to the openings 91. The tip parts of the discharging electrodes 80b penetrate the openings 91 and project to the downstream side of the electrode plate 90, and the tip part of each discharging electrode 80b and the edge part of each opening 91 are positioned so as to have a predetermined gap between them.

Air filter assembly
A compact lightweight air filtration system is disclosed. The air filtration system includes a hydrophobic particulate/coalescing filter and a cleanable ozone converter housed in a housing with an inlet and an outlet. Air flowing from the inlet to the outlet passes through the particulate/coalescing filter element and then the cleanable ozone converter to remove particulates, aerosols, liquids, and ozone.
Multi-domain electrostatic filter
Multi-domain electrostatic filters and methods, systems and computer readable media for control thereof are described.
