The composite structure includes at least one or more fiber-containing layers, such as fiberboard or other layers having fibers from natural and/or synthetic sources, and one or more mineral-containing layers. The mineral-containing layer(s) comprises a thermoplastic bonding agent fixing the mineral particles in place. The fiber-containing layer(s) and mineral-containing layer(s) can be shaped, sized, and manufactured such that the composite structure formed therefrom is capable of being machined to form the storage article. The composite structure can be repulped and recycled without the use of dispersions, emulsions, or aqueous solutions. Further, the composite reduces layer mass requirements for heat seal, barrier, and fiber adhesion compared to polymer layers. The composite structure further has tensile strength and other structural characteristics that allow it to be readily machined into desired storage article forms.

Coating composition and articles made therefrom
The instant invention provides an aqueous dispersion, a coating composition, coating layers and coated article made therefrom. The coating composition according to the present invention comprises: (1) the inventive aqueous dispersion comprising the melt blending product of: (a) from 50 to 99 percent by weight of one or more polyethylene terephthalate resins, based on the total solid content of the dispersion; (b) from 1 to 50 percent by weight of one or more stabilizing agents comprising at least one second polyester, based on the total solid content of the dispersion, wherein said second polyester (i) has a carboxylic acid group and an acid number equal to or greater than 15, based on the solid content of the second polyester; or (ii) is a self-dispersing sulfopolyester; (c) one or more neutralizing agents; and (d) from 15 to 90 percent by weight of water, based on the total weight of the dispersion; wherein said dispersion has a solid content of 10 to 85 percent, based on the total weight of the dispersion; and (2) optionally one or more cross-linking agents.
Aluminum surface treatment method to increase adhesion with polyurethane coating
A method for improvement of adhesion and distribution along the surface of coatings using a femtosecond laser is described. The process starts from chemical preparation or cleaning of the target material, surface predetermination, laser irradiation of the surface until a certain surface geometry is obtained, which gives the surface improved wetting properties and chemical surface activation which results in improved adhesion of the coatings on the target material surface. The surface geometries and dimensions to be obtained during irradiation are selected according to the properties of the coating and target material, including the laser parameters and/or the environment to obtain the desired surface geometry, considering possible geometry errors without compromising essential adhesion.
WEB TRANSPORT SYSTEM INCLUDING SCAVENGER BLADE
A web transport system for transporting a web of media along a web-transport path including a fluid bar for guiding the web of media, and a scavenger blade positioned downstream of the fluid bar. A liquid is pumped through holes in an exterior bearing surface of the fluid bar, thereby pushing the web of media away from the fluid bar. The scavenger bar includes a blade edge facing the first surface of the web of media, the blade edge being spaced apart from the first surface of the web of media by a gap distance. The scavenger blade removes at least some liquid from the first surface of the web of media as it passes by the scavenger blade, thereby reducing the amount of liquid that is carried along to portions of the web-transport path that are downstream of the scavenger blade.
