WATER-BASED COATING COMPOSITIONS AND SYSTEMS WITH IMPROVED SAG RESISTANCE AND RELATED METHODS
The present invention provides a water-based coating and/or coating system that can be used to form sag resistant wet layers or coatings on a wide range of substrates. The coating system is particularly effective for protecting metal-containing substrates, such as intermodal cargo containers, against corrosion. As an overview, the present invention provides water-based compositions suitable to form primer coats on substrates. Desirably, the primer incorporates a high level of one or more CAS agents for excellent sag resistance while drying in a broad range of relative humidity environments. Alternatively, modifications can be made to control temperature and humidity during spray application and drying as a way to increase sag resistance of the coating.
Coating composition for polyester film
The present invention relates to a coating composition for polyester film capable of printing on all types of printers with liquid and dry toners. The coating composition comprising of a combination of polyethylene carboxylic acid dispersion and homopolymer or copolymer of polyacrylate dispersion and/or homopolymer or copolymer of polyvinyl acetate dispersion, wherein acrylate and/or acetate content be is in the range of 1 to 50% of carboxylic acid content in the dispersion.
METHOD FOR FORMING MULTILAYER COATING FILM
A multilayer coating film forming method to form a multilayer coating film having a glittering appearance. Forming a multilayer coating film by sequentially applying, on top of a base material, a first base coating material, a second base coating material, and a clear coating material in a wet-on-wet process, wherein: the first base coating material is a transparent or colored coating material; the second coating material contains a flaky lustrous pigment; the amount of flaky lustrous pigment being 10-60 parts by mass to 100 parts by mass of resin solid content in the second base coating material, and the concentration of solids in the coating falls being 5-20 mass % with respect to the total mass of the second base coating material; and the thickness of a coating film obtained from the second base coating material falls being 1-8 m on the basis of the coating film when cured.
Method of coating metallic surface with coating having improved sag resistance
A method for applying a water-based coating and/or coating system to a metallic substrate to form sag resistant coatings is described. The method is particularly effective for protecting metal-containing substrates, such as intermodal cargo containers, against corrosion. The water-based coating includes an aqueous carrier, a resin component in admixture with the aqueous carrier and a high level of one or more CAS agents for excellent sag resistance.
METHOD FOR FORMING MULTILAYER COATING FILM
A method for forming a multilayer coating film is provided. The method includes coating at least one object with an aqueous primer coating composition, an aqueous first colored coating composition, an aqueous second colored coating composition, and a clear coating composition, in that order. The aqueous primer coating composition contains a component (A) which contains a polyolefin resin, a component (B) which contains a polyurethane resin, a curing agent (C) and electrically conductive carbon (D). The aqueous first colored coating composition and aqueous second colored coating composition each contain a core/shell emulsion. The clear coating composition contains a hydroxyl group-containing acrylic resin, a polyisocyanate and a melamine resin. The method improves the appearance, chipping resistance, adhesive properties and low temperature impact properties of a coating film.
SILICONE COATINGS FOR EXTERIOR ARCHITECTURAL SUBSTRATES FOR BUILDINGS
A method comprising applying a reflective silicone-containing composition to at least a portion of a surface of at least one architectural substrate, wherein the silicone-containing composition-applied surface faces an exterior wall of a building or an exterior roof of a building.
CORROSION RESISTANT COATING FOR A HIGH TEMPERATURE HEAT EXCHANGER
A method of manufacturing a high temperature heat exchanger that includes providing a heat exchanger made of at least one of nickel and a nickel metal alloy, applying a silicone aluminum coating to the heat exchanger, drying the silicone aluminum coating at a first temperature for a first time period, and curing the silicone aluminum coating at a second temperature for a second time period, such that a ceramic coating is formed.
HEATING PAINT, SURFACE HEATING DEVICE, AND KIT FOR PRODUCING A SURFACE HEATING DEVICE
The present invention relates to a heating paint which can be used to generate a surface heating device on a wall. The invention further relates to a surface heating device which is suitable in particular for heating a room, and also to a kit for producing a surface heating device on a wall. The invention relates, moreover, to uses of the subjects of the invention, especially for producing a surface heating device and, respectively, for heating a room, and to corresponding methods.
