A Method and Device for Remote Monitoring of Animals
20170325426 · 2017-11-16 ·

A method, device and system are provided for remotely monitoring one or more parameters associated with a grazing animal. The method comprises the steps of: mounting a collar comprising sensor onto a grazing animal; detecting by said sensor movements of the grazing animal or lack thereof; classifying the detected movements into a group of pre-defined activity classes; and based detected movements and their classification into at least one of the pre-defined activity classes, determining at least one of the parameters being monitored.

TECHNOLOGIES FOR MANAGING THE HEALTH OF LIVESTOCK
20170280687 · 2017-10-05 ·

Technologies for managing the health of livestock include one or more livestock health sensor systems configured to determine livestock health data of livestock animals. The livestock health data includes livestock health characteristic data indicative of a health characteristic of the corresponding livestock animal associated livestock identification data that uniquely identifies each livestock animal. The livestock identification data is received by each livestock health sensor system from a livestock identification tag coupled to the corresponding livestock animal. Each livestock health sensor system transmits the determined livestock health data to a livestock health monitoring server, which aggregates the livestock health data for each livestock animal and analyzes the health data to determine whether any abnormalities are present. If so, the livestock health monitoring server may control a livestock treatment device to provide treatment to the corresponding livestock animal on a per-animal basis.

SINGLE OR DUAL TECHNOLOGY ANIMAL TAGS AND SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME
20170280688 · 2017-10-05 · ·

A system and method are disclosed for tracking animals, which may include production animals as well as pets. The system and method may comprise a tag system that is attached to an animal that generally has at least a near-field-communication (NFC) tag. The tag system comprises at least an NFC tag and a radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag. For NFC tags, such tags may be read with a portable computing device, such as a mobile telephone running NFC reader application software. The phone may communicate with a communications network and ultimately a computer server in order to relay information received from a respective electronic tag. The electronic tags may be fastened, embedded, or ingested by an animal. The electronic tags may be part of a mechanical coupling. Each mechanical coupling may comprise a different structure depending on the whether the tags are fastened to, embedded in, or ingested by the animal.

CHILD VEHICULAR ABANDONMENT PREVENTION SYSTEM

TAG BASED ADMINISTRATION OF PHARMACEUTICAL AGENTS TO LIVESTOCK
20220047367 · 2022-02-17 ·

Autonomously administering a pharmaceutical agent to an animal. A tag assembly is affixed to an animal. The tag assembly may be an ear tag, although other configurations can be used. The tag assembly has a reservoir that houses a pharmaceutical agent. An actuator and an application mechanism are provided. A control signal is generated responsive to an input, which may be from a sensor associated with the tag assembly or may be from an external circuit located apart from the tag assembly. Receipt of the control signal causes the actuator to apply a force to the reservoir, which in turn induces a flow of the pharmaceutical agent, via the application mechanism, to a body of the animal. The pharmaceutical agent may be topically or intravenously applied. The pharmaceutical may be an insecticide or some other agent. Multiple reservoirs can be provided to dispense the same or different pharmaceutical agents.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL FOR ENCLOSURES BASED ON TOUCH-LESS MONITORING OF ANIMALS

Embodiments of the invention provide a system and a method for controlling environmental conditions of an enclosure for animals. At least one radar device can be used to detect an indicator of a biological parameter for at least one of the animals. A value for the biological parameter can be determined based upon the detected indicator. Operation of environmental management equipment for the enclosure can be controlled based upon the determined value for the biological parameter.
