The invention relates to an arrangement (6) for controlling an entrance hole (2) of a beehive (1) of a beehive with bees, comprising a closure element (11) for at least partially closing the entrance hole (2).
According to the invention, the arrangement (6) comprises at least one identification unit (5) arrangeable or arranged on a queen bee (4), a reading unit (7) for reading out the at least one identification unit (5), wherein the reading unit (7) or at least one antenna unit (8) of the reading unit (7) is arrangeable or arranged at the entrance hole (2), and an actuation unit (12), in particular coupled with the reading unit (7), for actuating the closure element (11).
Moreover, the invention relates to a method for controlling an entrance hole (2) of a beehive (1).
MARKING AND INJECTION REMOTE DELIVERY DEVICE
A remote delivery device is provided which has media portholes in a sidewall, a tail piece attached to a rear end and a cannula attached to a front end. The body contains a plunger assembly which defines an injectable liquid chamber and a marking media chamber. The plunger assembly includes a front barbell plunger, rear barbell plunger and a plunger shaft with an O-Ring seated between the front and rear of said plunger shaft. The body also contains a single internal charge positioned behind the plunger assembly. When the charge is activated, the plunger assembly is thrust forwardly and dispenses an injectable liquid from the injectable liquid chamber through the cannula. Simultaneously, the plunger assembly also dispenses a marking media from the marking media chamber through marking media portholes. The provision of a single internal charge allows for a reduction in the length and weight of the device. The single internal charge provides evidence of successful injection of the injectable liquid when the media is displaced from the marking media chamber.
Verification process and system for information relating to pets or support animals
A system and method for verifying information relating to pets or support animals use steps of transmitting pet or support animal documentation from a sending user to a third party, verifying the documentation by the third party, resulting in a verified or unverified identifier, and storing a record corresponding to the documentation and the verified or unverified identifier in a data repository. Also facilitated are steps of requesting the verified or unverified identifier corresponding to the documentation by a recipient user using an end user device, querying the data repository for the record and selecting the corresponding verified or unverified identifier, accessing the verified or unverified identifier by the recipient user using the end user device, and determining whether a corresponding pet or support animal meets documentation criteria required by the recipient user based on the verified or unverified identifier.
Tag based administration of pharmaceutical agents to livestock
Apparatus and method for autonomously administering a pharmaceutical agent, such as an insecticide, to an animal. A tag assembly is attached to the animal at a suitable location such as through an outer ear thereof. The tag assembly includes a reservoir to retain the pharmaceutical agent. An actuator of the tag assembly is configured to open the reservoir responsive to a control signal from a control circuit. An application mechanism facilitates a transfer of the pharmaceutical agent to the animal in response to the actuator. In some cases, the control signal may be transmitted to the tag assembly from an external source via a wireless connection. In other cases, the control signal may be generated internally using a sensor of the tag assembly. The tag assembly may include multiple reservoirs so that applications of the agent can be carried out at different times and under different conditions as required.
SYSTEM AND DEVICE FOR MONITORING MARINE ANIMALS
A system for monitoring marine animals includes a monitoring tag attachable to a marine animal. The monitoring tag includes a processor, a memory coupled to the processor, at least one communication interface, and at least one sensor. The processor is configured to store readings from the at least one sensor in the memory. The system also includes at least one communication receiver having a processor, a memory coupled to the processor, and at least one communication interface. The at least one communication receiver is configured to float in water. The processor of the monitoring tag is configured to determine, using the at least one sensor, whether the monitoring tag is within a communication range for radio frequency communication with the at least one communication receiver, and to transmit, via the at least one communication interface of the monitoring tag, the stored readings to the at least one communication receiver responsive to the processor of the monitoring tag determining that the monitoring tag is within the communication range for radio frequency communication with the at least one communication receiver.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COUNTING AQUATIC CREATURES
A system and a method for counting aquatic creatures are provided. The system includes an image capture device and a computer system configured to perform the method. The method includes: using the image capture device to capture images of a flow channel; defining a scan line in the images; performing a binarization process on pixels of the scan line in each of the images; determining aquatic creature range data according to each of the binarized pixel data sets; determining aquatic creature range data sets according to the binarized pixel data sets; determining identification and direction information of aquatic creature corresponding to each of the aquatic creature range data sets according to the aquatic creature range data sets; and determining a number of aquatic creatures passing through the scan line according to the identification and direction information of aquatic creature corresponding to each of the aquatic creature range data sets.
Voice Command Pet Collar
A voice command pet collar that is programmable with voice commands, audible alerts and vibrations designed to get the attention of a pet wearing the collar. The voice command collar resembles a regular pet collar but further includes a relatively small electronic unit having a microphone, GPS unit, wireless communication capabilities and additional features which may be useful in managing a pet or other animal. The voice command collar enables the pet owner to correct his or her pet's behavior using the plurality of prerecorded commands, and without the need to carry a separate remote control device to give electronic commands or other prompts to the pet. Additionally, the GPS feature of the voice command pet collar enables a pet owner to establish a perimeter around their home or other location, and ensure that the pet or other animal wearing the collar remains inside the established perimeter.
Location based wireless pet containment system using single base unit
A wireless animal location system is provided that identifies a location of a pet roaming within an environment using a single base unit. The wireless animal location system tracks and manages animal behavior in the environment using information of pet location.
VEHICLE HAVING PET MONITORING AND RELATED CONTROLS
A vehicle is provided that includes a vehicle body, a plurality of RF signal receivers located at a plurality of locations within the vehicle, an RF signal transmitter configured to be located on a pet for transmitting an RF signal, and a controller for processing the RF signal received by each of the plurality of RF signal receivers and determining a location of the pet based on the received RF signals, wherein the controller generates an output based on the location of the pet and controls at least one vehicle function based on the output.
Livestock Management System
A livestock management system for detecting, tracking, and responding to livestock location and physical parameters, and for determining livestock behavior and physical conditions correlated thereto. The system generally includes a plurality of tags and sensors attached to and implanted in a plurality of livestock, one or more local sensors, a management platform, and a remote computer system. Each tag receives, processes and maintains data regarding the location, activity and physical parameters of a livestock to which it is attached and locally determines the behavior and physical conditions of the livestock. The tags communicate with other nearby tags and sensors locally via dynamic mesh networks and with the management platform and remote computer system via longer range wireless networks. The management platform processes the tag data and produces herd-related data. The remote computer uses the tag data to generate and update livestock behavior and condition models for download to the tags.
