Egg inspection device
An egg-examining device, comprising a sampling device, by which a liquid sample to be taken can be taken from an egg of a rack loaded with eggs, a feeding device for feeding the rack loaded with eggs to the sampling device, and a control unit, by which the feeding device and the sampling device can be controlled. The feeding device feeds the rack to the sampling device at an oblique angle of between 20° and 80° to a plane perpendicular to the direction of gravity. A lifting-out device is provided, by which the egg can be lifted out of the rack and by which the egg can be put into a sampling position, in which the liquid amount to be taken can be taken from the egg by the sampling device.
Sheet loader for loading live turkeys and methods therefor
An apparatus for loading live turkeys from a barn floor to cages on a transport trailer. A continuous motorized drive chain moves attached, solid sheets that are loaded with turkeys from the barn floor into the cage, and then back to the loading position. The drive chain is looped around first and second sprockets. Each rectangular sheet is rotationally connected at two of its corners to the drive chain forming a fixed end and a loose end. When the drive chain rounds the barn end, the loose end of the sheet slides upwards on a guide flap to keep the top of the sheet facing up. The sheets are driven forward to the cages, round the end at the cage end, pulled backwards from the cages toward the barn end, and then driven forward again, all without stopping the motion of the drive chain.

Devices and methods for determining analytes
A device for detecting a presence or concentration of an analyte on an egg shell or in an egg, the device comprising an emitter, wherein the emitter is configured to emit light into the egg, a detector, wherein the detector is configured to receive light emitted from an indicator molecule within the egg, a controller configured to analyze a change in a detectable quality of the indicator molecule based on the presence or concentration of the analyte.
END-WALL CATCHING SYSTEM AND METHOD
An end-wall catching system configured to removably couple to an end-wall of a mobile poultry enclosure and gather and/or crate live poultry. The end-wall catching system may comprise a conveyor portion including a lifting conveyor belt and a transverse conveyor belt. The end-wall catching system may comprise a harvesting portion for moving the individual ones of the live poultry into one or more crates. The end-wall catching system may comprise a coupling portion configured to couple the end-wall catching system to an end-wall of the mobile poultry enclosure such that responsive to the mobile poultry enclosure moving across a field, the end-wall catching system moves alongside and/or with the mobile poultry enclosure.
A CONTROL DEVICE, A LIGHTING SYSTEM, AND A METHOD
The invention relates to pre-conditioning an animal(s) to (the risk of) heat stress. The invention provides a control device for controlling a lighting device to illuminate at least one animal in a space, wherein the control device is configured to: obtain prediction data indicative of a value of an environmental condition in said space during a future time period; determine said value of the environmental condition based on the prediction data; determine a prediction of heat stress of the at least one animal in said space during the future time period if said value of the environmental condition falls within a predefined limit for heat stress; control, upon determining said prediction of heat stress, a lighting device to illuminate the at least one animal in said space with a lighting characteristic at least partly before said future time period.

System and method for injecting an egg
An injector, injection systems and methods for injecting a substance into an egg, where the injector includes a shaft, a sheath extending from the shaft in a longitudinal direction; a trocar positioned at least partly inside the sheath; and a needle at least partly inside the trocar. The injector can further include a locking mechanism configured to lock the trocar with the shaft in the longitudinal direction in a first position of the trocar relative to the sheath, the locking mechanism being further configured to unlock the trocar from the shaft in the longitudinal direction in a second position of the trocar relative to the sheath. The needle is fully inside the trocar in the first longitudinal position and at least partly extends from the trocar in the second longitudinal position.
