HOT BOLT CLAMP
20220154858 · 2022-05-19 ·

A hot bolt clamp and method for repairing a multi-bolt flange of a pipe. The clamp has enclosures that can be assembled around the multi-bolt flange. The clamp has a central opening extending through a first enclosure face and a second enclosure face for the pipe. The clamp includes a flange bolt cavities extending through the enclosure faces configured to enclose flange bolts and having a cutter channel connected to each flange bolt cavity. Restraint bolts extend through the enclosure face to restrain the multi-bolt flange. Flange bolts can be removed and replaced during the repair operation. A cutter tool apparatus can be extended through each cutter channel for use in removing stuck flange bolts. The clamp forms an injectable void around the multi-bolt flange that is injectable with sealant in the event of a loss of gasket integrity during the repair operation.

POWER TOOL ACCESSORIES FOR CUTTING TUBULAR MEMBERS
20220134526 · 2022-05-05 ·

A power tool accessory for cutting tubular members includes a housing, an input shaft configured to be coupled to a rotary power tool, a transmission, and a cutting head removably received in a front end of the housing. The transmission includes an input gear and an output gear with a first plurality of teeth. The cutting head has a central opening, a cutting blade protruding into the central opening, and a second plurality of teeth engaged by the first plurality of teeth. A clamp assembly coupled to the housing is moveable between a first position where the cutting head is removable from the housing and a second position where the cutting head is retained in the housing. The cutting head receives a tubular member in the central opening with the cutting blade engaging the tubular member to cut the tubular member as the cutting head rotates about the tubular member.

Metal clad cable cutting machine

A machine forms a whip from a length of cable. The machine includes a clamping assembly, a notching assembly, and a cutting assembly. The clamping assembly includes a pad which can be move into and out of a cable travel space. The notching assembly includes a notching saw which cuts an outer jacket of the cable in a direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis. Movement of the pad also causes movement of the notching saw to move into the cable travel space or into a raised position. The cutting assembly includes a cutting tool which transversely cuts the conductors of the cable.

A blade assembly for cutting a member which surrounds a bolt member includes a first blade comprising a first cutting edge aligned with a first cutting plane which extends in a first direction from the first cutting edge; a second blade comprising a second cutting edge aligned with a second cutting plane which extends in a second direction from the second cutting edge; and a third blade comprising a third cutting edge aligned with a third cutting plane which extends in the second direction from the third cutting edge, wherein the first, second and third blades are associated with one another. The first cutting edge is spaced apart from the second and third cutting edges and the first cutting plane extends between the second and third cutting planes.

Cutter Having Customizable Ideal Mechanical Advantage at Each Point in the Cutting Stroke
20220001469 · 2022-01-06 · ·

A powered shearing mechanism or cutter is disclosed that comprises an asynchronous double class 1 lever and a linear actuator that uses two ganged wheels to pry the effort portion of both levers open and close the jaws. The wheels move linearly—with the distance between them kept constant—and roll along—and exert force against—parts of the levers called “bearing surfaces.” The bearing surfaces are non-planar and reflectively symmetric and their profile is customized to provide any desired ideal mechanical advantage for the cutter. In accordance with the illustrative embodiment, the profile of the bearing surfaces is a circular arc, which provides a bearing surface which is easy to precisely fabricate and that provides a fairly constant ideal mechanical advantage at each point as the cutter's blades cut through the material.

Rescue tool

A rescue tool (10) comprises a drive system which is provided inside a housing and which is configured and suitable for actuating a linear displacement of an implement drive member. The drive system is connected for axial rotation to a rotation shaft of an energizable drive source (22), wherein the rotation shaft of the energizable drive source (22) is coupled for force transmission to an axially rotatable spindle (30). The spindle (30) is coupled rotatably to the housing (15) by means of an axial bearing assembly (25, 26) and the drive body (40) is coupled for force transmission to the spindle (30) and to the implement drive member. The drive body is configured and suitable for converting an axial rotation of the spindle (30) to a linear translation of its own.
