Device and method for analyzing the surface of parts having cooling fluid openings
A method for coating a part having a surface that has cooling fluid openings that adjoin cooling fluid ducts inside the part. A device analyzes the surface of a part having a surface that has cooling fluid openings which adjoin cooling fluid ducts inside the part, the device being usable in the aforementioned method. The disclosed device and/or the disclosed method is used during the manufacturing and/or overhauling of parts of a turbomachine.
Systems and method for use in servicing a machine
A system for use in servicing a machine. The system includes a tubular body including a longitudinal axis, a tip end, a dispensing nozzle defined at the tip end, and an interior channel in flow communication with the dispensing nozzle. The tubular body is configured to be flexible. An actuator is configured to selectively modify an orientation of the tubular body, and a reservoir is in flow communication with the interior channel. The reservoir is configured to supply a maintenance fluid to the tubular body for discharge from the dispensing nozzle.
METHOD FOR HOLDING A PART BLANK BY FLUID EXPANSION IN AN ADDITIVELY MANUFACTURED HOLDING PORTION
A method for holding a part blank inside a holding assembly. The holding assembly includes a first holding portion. The first holding portion includes an inner cavity containing a fluid. The part blank and the first holding portion are at least partially manufactured by additive manufacturing. The holding method includes a heating of the holding assembly and the part blank to deform the first holding portion by fluid expansion in the inner cavity and to reduce a gap between the part blank and the holding assembly by expansion of the first holding portion in relation to the part blank.
Backwall strike braze repair
A process of repairing a component includes identifying a void in a component; determining at least one approximate physical configuration of the void; inserting borescope into the component in order to view the void; providing a repair rod approximately equivalent to at least one of the least one approximate physical configuration of the void; inserting the repair rod into component; confirming insertion of the repair rod in the void; separating the repair rod to leave a repair plug in the void; and depositing braze paste over the repair plug in the void.
Installing trim in a valve assembly
A tool configured for use to assemble and install trim into a steam conditioning valve. These configurations can include a device that mounts in place of a bonnet and an actuator that technicians remove from the valve. The device can cantilever the trim assembly, essentially providing a platform on which technicians can slide the trim assembly into the valve body (or out of the valve body) to complete install or repair of the device. As an added benefit, technicians can also use the device to assemble the trim in proximity to the subject valve.
CONDITIONING DISK REPLACEMENT APPARATUS AND METHOD
A conditioning disk replacement apparatus includes; a detacher configured to separate a conditioning disk from to a holder, a transfer part configured to transfer the conditioning disk, and a container configured to store the conditioning disk. The detacher includes a detachment body and a rotary part coupled to the detachment body, the rotary part includes a key protruding outward from the rotary part in a first horizontal direction, and the rotary part is configured to rotate about a central axis extending in the first horizontal direction.
Method of repair to compressor housing and repaired housing
A method of repairing a compressor outlet housing includes the steps of obtaining a damaged compressor outlet housing having a radially outer volute, a radially inwardly extending finger extending to an axially extending ledge, a radially inwardly extending web extending radially inwardly from the ledge, and a radially inner bearing support defining a bore. The method identifies a damaged section within at least one of the bearing support, the web, and the ledge, and removes at least the bearing support and the web to leave a remaining part. The method then inserts an insert having at least a replacement bearing support and a replacement web into the remaining part after the removal step. The method then welds the insert to the remaining part to provide a repaired compressor housing. A method of replacing a compressor outlet housing and a replacement compressor outlet housing are also disclosed.

METHOD FOR REPAIRING AN AIR INTAKE LIP
A method for repairing a turbomachine air intake lip including a damaged area whose shape differs from the initial shape of the lip, includes identifying the damage; depositing a filler material on the damaged area so as to give it a shape identical to the initial shape; inspecting the shape of the lip; and inspecting the performed repair.
Pipe that is friction forge bonded to a ladder support through a stud and a bracket
In some implementations, an apparatus comprises a pipe, a stud that is forge-welded to the pipe, creating a forge-welded stud, a bracket that is operably coupled to the forge-welded stud, and a ladder support operably coupled to the bracket.
