METHOD FOR SELECTIVELY COLORING METAL CONTACTS IN OPTOELECTRONIC DEVICE
A method of fabricating an optoelectronic device includes the steps of providing a semiconductor unit and forming a plurality of metal contacts on a surface of the semiconductor unit for electrical conduction. The method further includes the step of forming a plurality of color coating regions on top of the plurality of metal contacts, the plurality of color coating regions imparting a color different than a color of the plurality of metal contacts.
Method of assembling a power-conditioned solar charger
The present invention relates to methods, tools and systems for manufacturing a durable and portable power-conditioned personal solar system charging apparatus. Various voltage and amperage matching algorithms are manipulated to particularize the personal solar system to power and/or charge an intended portable device or a set of intended portable devices having direct current (DC) load requirements. The optimized personal solar system that is matched to an intended device allows direct coupling to the intended device without the use of an internal battery or ancillary electronic circuit boards to distract the personal solar system output, and facilitates fast charging modes.
Mid-infrared tunable metamaterials
A mid-infrared tunable metamaterial comprises an array of resonators on a semiconductor substrate having a large dependence of dielectric function on carrier concentration and a semiconductor plasma resonance that lies below the operating range, such as indium antimonide. Voltage biasing of the substrate generates a resonance shift in the metamaterial response that is tunable over a broad operating range. The mid-infrared tunable metamaterials have the potential to become the building blocks of chip based active optical devices in mid-infrared ranges, which can be used for many applications, such as thermal imaging, remote sensing, and environmental monitoring.
MICROSTRUCTURE ENHANCED ABSORPTION PHOTOSENSITIVE DEVICES
Techniques for enhancing the absorption of photons in semiconductors with the use of microstructures are described. The microstructures, such as holes, effectively increase the absorption of the photons. Using microstructures for absorption enhancement for silicon photodiodes and silicon avalanche photodiodes can result in bandwidths in excess of 10 Gb/s at photons with wavelengths of 850 nm, and with quantum efficiencies of approximately 90% or more. Their thickness dimensions allow them to be conveniently integrated on the same Si chip with CMOS, BiCMOS, and other electronics, with resulting packaging benefits and reduced capacitance and thus higher speeds.
High-frequency optoelectronic detector, system and method
An optoelectronic device for detecting electromagnetic radiation includes a body of semiconductor material. A first region and a second region that form a junction are provided within the body. A recess extends into the body and is delimited by side arranged transverse to a main surface of the body. The junction is exposed by the sidewall to coupled electromagnetic radiation received in the recess into a photodiode formed by the junction.
Photoelectric device comprising the barrier film layer
A barrier film layer, a photoelectric device comprising the barrier film layer and a manufacturing method of the photoelectric device are provided. A material forming the barrier film layer includes a topological insulator, and the barrier film layer is formed on a surface of an base plate which is patterned. In this way, a better package of the photoelectric device can be achieved.
SOLAR MODULE ARRAY PRE-ASSEMBLY METHOD AND APPARATUS
The present invention is directed to an apparatus for pre-assembly of an electrically connected array of solar panels for a solar canopy including a substantially planar base member for resting on a horizontal surface, a substantially planar support member for horizontally aligning side-by-side and horizontally supporting a plurality of solar panels when a photo-voltaic cell side of the solar panels rests against the support member, where a bottom portion of the support member is integral with the base member or fixed attached to the base member, and the support member extends upward from the base member; a track member disposed proximate a bottom portion of the support member attached to or integral with the support member or base member for vertically aligning side-by-side and vertically supporting a plurality of solar panels when a side edge portion of the solar panels rests on the track member; and at least two arm members, each having a free end and an attached end, the attached ends pivotally attached proximate to opposing ends of the base member or support member and each arm members having a longitudinal axis oriented substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the base member and support member and extending outward from the base member and support member, and configured to pivot in a vertical plane from a position substantially parallel to the ground upward to a position substantially parallel to parallel to the plane of the support member, where upon pivoting in one direction the free end moves closer towards the support member and pivoting in the other direction the free end moves away from the support member, the arm members being configured and adapted for removably attaching at least two solar panel support channels.
Nanocomposite photodetector
A photodetector includes an anode that is transparent or partially transparent to light, a cathode and an active layer disposed between the anode and the cathode. The active layer includes a nanocomposite material that has a polymer blended with nanoparticles or organic electron trapping particles. The photodetector has a low dark current when not illuminated by light and has a high conductivity when illuminated by light, in which the light passes the anode and is absorbed by the active layer.
SOLAR MODULE ARRAY PRE-ASSEMBLY METHOD AND APPARATUS
The present invention is directed to an apparatus for stacking a plurality of solar module arrays each having a plurality of solar panels. The apparatus includes a lower portion disposed on top of a first solar panel support channel corresponding to a first solar module array, and an upper portion for supporting a second solar panel support channel corresponding to a second solar module array, wherein the second solar module array is stacked above the first solar module array.
Photovoltaic module stackable corner protector
The disclosure describes various stackable corner protector configurations. The corner protectors can have curved lateral surfaces that allow the corner protectors to be decoupled from a photovoltaic module to which they are coupled to by rotating one end of the corner protectors away from the object. This removal process works even more efficiently with multiple stacked corner protectors as the stacked corner protectors can be concurrently removed from the object by rotating the stacked corner protectors away from the object together. The corner protector can also include one or more attachment features for securing the corner protector to the object. For example, when the corner protector is installed on a photovoltaic module, the attachment feature can engage a lip defined by a recess or channel of the photovoltaic module.
