Polishing apparatus and polishing method
The present invention relates to a polishing apparatus and a polishing method for polishing a substrate, such as a wafer, and more particularly to a polishing apparatus and a polishing method for polishing an edge portion of a wafer with use of a polishing tape. The polishing apparatus includes a substrate holder (1) configured to hold and rotate a substrate (W), and a polishing unit (7) configured to polish an edge portion of the substrate (W) with use of a polishing tape (5). The polishing unit (7) includes: a disk head (12) having a circumferential surface for supporting the polishing tape (5); and a head moving device (50) configured to move the disk head (12) in a tangential direction of the substrate (W) and to bring the polishing tape (5) on the circumferential surface of the disk head (12) into contact with the edge portion of the substrate (W).
Polishing apparatus
A polishing apparatus polishes a periphery of a substrate by bringing a polishing tool into sliding contact with the substrate. The polishing apparatus includes a substrate-holding mechanism configured to hold a substrate and rotate the substrate, a polishing mechanism configured to press a polishing tool against a periphery of the substrate so as to polish the periphery, and a periphery-supporting mechanism configured to support the periphery of the substrate by a fluid. The periphery-supporting mechanism is configured to support a surface of the substrate from an opposite side or the same side of the periphery of the substrate.
Abrasive belt grinding center applicable to grinding and polishing of whole profile of blisk
An abrasive belt grinding center applicable to grinding and polishing of a whole profile of a blisk is provided, an X-axis feed mechanism, a Y-axis feed mechanism, a Z-axis feed mechanism, a B-axis rotation mechanism and a C-axis rotation mechanism constitute a grinding head feed mechanism, and a housing, a drum, a synchronous driven pulley, a synchronous belt, a synchronous driving pulley, and a grinding head rotation driving motor constitute a grinding head rotation mechanism. In the present application, two grinding heads are utilized to reasonably assign the machining angle and the feeding, and rough machining and fine machining can be both realized by one time of clamping, and the combination of six degrees of freedom in space is achieved by a short drive chain, and further the rigidities of a grinding head mechanism and a workpiece clamping mechanism are ensured.
Powered tool sharpener with variable material take off (MTO) rate
A tool sharpener has a guide assembly to support a cutting tool adjacent an abrasive medium. A drive assembly advances the abrasive medium with respect to the guide assembly. A control mechanism provides a first control input value to move the medium and achieve a first material take off (MTO) rate during a coarse sharpening operation upon the tool. A second control input value from the control circuit moves the medium to achieve a lower, second MTO rate during a fine sharpening operation. The control mechanism transitions the medium from the first MTO rate to the second MTO rate responsive to a timer mechanism indicating a conclusion of a predetermined elapsed time interval.
EXPANDABLE HANDHELD PNEUMATIC BELT GRINDER
An expandable handheld pneumatic belt grinder includes a body, an expansion component and an operation component. The body has a receiving space, a pneumatic motor, and a rotating wheel driven by the pneumatic motor. The expansion component has an expansion pipe and an expansion rod which are connected. The expansion rod is coupled to the receiving space. The operation component has a support rod with one end carrying a driven wheel and the other end coupled to the receiving space or expansion pipe. A grinding belt fits around the driven wheel and rotating wheel collectively. A user changes the distance between the rotating wheel and driven wheel by choosing between two options: coupling the support rod of operation component and the receiving space; and coupling the expansion rod of expansion component and the receiving space, and then coupling the support rod of operation component and the expansion pipe.
Device for band finishing a workpiece
A device for finishing a workpiece includes two pressing elements and a holding apparatus for holding the pressing elements. A finishing band is pressable against a workpiece surface to be finished. A flexurally resilient intermediate element is disposed so as to transmit a pressing force to the finishing band by means of a force-receiving surface and by means of a force-transmitting surface. The intermediate element or a plurality of them is configured to transmit pressing forces, which are offset relative to one another in a circumferential direction of the workpiece surface, to the finishing band. The force-transmitting surfaces of the intermediate element or the plurality of them are oriented in a substantially V-shaped manner relative to one another, and are substantially planar in an undeformed initial state and have a curvature in a same direction as the workpiece surface when there is a pressing force.

Deburring machine abrasive belt, chamfering-deburring machine that deburrs twice per rotation, and deburring method
The present invention relates to a one-circle two-chamfer deburring machine and a deburring method comprising the following steps after starting up: (1) The upper wheelhead motor drives the upper grinding belt to rotate horizontally (2) the lower wheelhead motor drives the lower grinding belt to rotate horizontally and (3) when a deburred workpiece goes through a passage formed by the active feeding roller row and the upper grinding belt, an upper abrasive block elastically contacts surface of the workpiece and, under the drive of the upper wheelhead motor and the upper active drum, polishes and deburrs the front side of the workpiece twice; the lower abrasive block elastically contacts the surface of the workpiece and, under the drive of the lower wheelhead motor and the lower active drum, polishes and deburrs the back side of the workpiece twice.
ROTATABLE EDGE GUIDE TO SUPPORT A CUTTING TOOL DURING A SHARPENING OPERATION
Apparatus for sharpening a cutting tool. In some embodiments, a tool sharpener includes an abrasive medium having an abrasive surface. A stationary tool support guide provides a guide surface that supports a side of the tool during presentation of a cutting edge of the tool against the abrasive surface. A rotatable edge guide has a roller member with a curvilinearly extending outer surface. The roller member is rotatable about an edge guide roller axis to engage, via rolling contact, the cutting edge during the presentation of the cutting edge against the abrasive surface.
