INFRARED DETECTORS AND THERMAL TAGS FOR REAL-TIME ACTIVITY MONITORING
20180011982 · 2018-01-11 ·

Methods and systems for activity monitoring include capturing an infrared image of an environment that comprises at least one patient being monitored and at least one infrared-emitting tag. A relationship between the patient being monitored and the at least one infrared-emitting tag is determined. An activity conducted by the patient being monitored is determined based on the relationship between the patient being monitored and the at least one infrared-emitting tag. A course of treatment for the patient being monitored is adjusted based on the determined activity.

INSPECTING PLANTS FOR CONTAMINATION
20180012344 · 2018-01-11 ·

A method of inspecting plants for contamination includes generating a first series of images of a plant, identifying a region of interest displayed in the first series of images, comparing a color parameter of the region of interest to a color criterion associated with a type of contamination, comparing a morphological parameter of the region of interest to a reference parameter associated with the type of contamination, and upon determining that the color parameter meets the color criterion and that the morphological parameter sufficiently matches the reference parameter, identifying the region of interest as a region of contamination on the plant. The method further includes transmitting an instruction to lift a cutter of a harvester up from a planting bed to avoid harvesting the plant in response to identifying the region of interest as the region of contamination, and generating a second series of images of an additional plant.

Methods and Systems for Providing Event Alerts

The various embodiments described herein include methods, devices, and systems for providing event alerts. In one aspect, a method includes: (1) obtaining a first category for a first motion event, the first motion event corresponding to a first plurality of video frames; (2) sending a first alert indicative of the first category to a user; (3) after sending the first alert, obtaining a second category for a second motion event corresponding to a second plurality of video frames; (4) in accordance with a determination that the second category is the same as the first category, determining whether a predetermined amount of time has elapsed since the sending of the first alert; (5) if the predetermined amount of time has elapsed, sending a second alert indicative of the second category to the user; and (6) if the predetermined amount of time has not elapsed, forgoing sending the second alert.

NETWORK CAMERA HAVING A PLURALITY OF DIGITAL OUTPUT TERMINALS FOR OUTPUTTING ALARM AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
20180012464 · 2018-01-11 ·

The present invention provides a network camera having a plurality of digital output terminals for outputting an alarm, and a method of controlling the network camera. That is, the present invention includes a plurality of digital output terminals for transmitting image information obtained through a wireless communication network to a server and transmitting information about sensing a person and information about a problematic situation, respectively, using a 4-wire cable, so it is possible to check whether it is a normally-closed state or a normally-open state through the plurality of digital output terminals that are individually managed, respectively, and accordingly, it is possible to improve convenience in use.

REMOTE STATE FOLLOWING DEVICE
20180014382 · 2018-01-11 ·

A system and method for a remote state following device that includes an electronic device with a controllable operating state; an imaging device; and control system that when targeted at a control interface interprets a visual state from the control interface, and modifies the operating state in coordination with the visual state.

ELECTRONIC APPARATUS AND OPERATING METHOD THEREOF

An apparatus and method are provided for controlling an operation of an electronic device by using a fingerprint image in the electronic device. The electronic device includes a display and a processor configured to detect a fingerprint image corresponding to a user input; determine an input direction of the user input based on the fingerprint image; determine a motion direction of the user input based on the input direction of the user input in response to a motion of the user input; and execute a first function corresponding to the motion direction of the user input.

APPARATUS AND METHOD OF RECOGNIZING DIVISION LINES ON A ROAD
20180012084 · 2018-01-11 ·

A division line recognition apparatus is provided with a feature detector detecting bright features showing an area which is brighter than a road surface from captured images, and a reflection determination unit which determines straight lines as road surface reflection areas, when the bright feature points are detected in a same position between frames of images captured at a preset period and form a straight line shorter than a preset threshold length, among the detected bright feature points. A white line recognition unit which recognizes a white line from the bright feature points having the bright feature points showing a short line determined as the road surface reflection, removed therefrom.

User Display Providing Obstacle Avoidance

A visual display for use by a user for navigation and obstacle avoidance. A typical user employs the invention in operating a vehicle. The user may be located in the vehicle but will more typically be remotely located. The display may include a conventional video feed. A visual arch metaphor is also provided. If used in conjunction with a video feed, the arch metaphor preferably extends from the left side of the video, over the top of the video, and on to the right side of the video. A ranging device mounted on the vehicle collects ranging data around the vehicle. As an example, the ranging device might collect 180 degrees of ranging data extending from the vehicle's left side, across the vehicle's front, and over to the vehicle's right side. The ranging data is then correlated to a predefined color scale. The ranging data is also correlated to a position on the arch metaphor.
