Three dimensional printing of cermet or cemented carbide
The present invention relates to a powder for three-dimensional printing of a cermet or a cemented carbide body. The powder has 30-70 vol % of the particles that are <10 μm in diameter. The present invention also relates to a method of making a cermet or cemented carbide body. The method includes the steps of forming the powder, 3D printing a body using the powder together with a printing binder to form a 3D printed cermet or cemented carbide green body and subsequently sintering the green body to form a cermet or cemented carbide body.
Surface hardening of cemented carbide body
A cemented carbide body includes WC in a metallic binder phase. The cemented carbide body has a bulk portion and a surface portion. The grain size of the WC in the surface portion is smaller than the grain size in the bulk portion of the body and this gives an increased surface hardness and an increased wear resistance. The median grain thickness, tg, of WC in the surface portion is 20-300 nm and the average grain size in the bulk portion is 0.5-8 μm. A method of surface hardening a cemented carbide body is also provided.

METHOD OF TREATING A SURFACE, SURFACE-MODIFIED ABRASIVE PARTICLES, AND RESIN-BOND ABRASIVE ARTICLES
An adhesion promoter comprises a reaction product of: a) a polyepoxide; b) an aminosilane represented by the formula HNR.sup.1R.sup.2. R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 independently represent —Z-SiL.sub.3. Each Z independently represents a divalent linking group having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, and each L independently represents a hydrolyzable group; and c) an isocyanatosilane represented by the formula O=C═N—Z-SiL.sub.3, wherein Z and L are as previously defined. The adhesion promoter may be used to treat a surface of a substrate such as an abrasive particle, which may be included in a resin-bond abrasive article.
Abrasive article and method of making the same
In some examples, an abrasive particle transfer system including a production tool including a dispensing surface with a plurality of cavities formed therein; abrasive particles removably disposed within at least some of the cavities; and a nonwoven substrate having an outer surface opposing the dispensing surface of the production tool, wherein the dispending surface of the production tool is configured to apply a compressive force to the outer surface of the nonwoven substrate to compress the nonwoven substrate from a first thickness to a second thickness, wherein, while the nonwoven substrate is compressed to the second thickness by the production tool, the abrasive particles are transferred from the plurality of cavities to the nonwoven substrate.
Polishing Pad for Chemical Mechanical Polishing and Method
Polishing pads having varying protrusions and methods of forming the same are disclosed. In an embodiment, a polishing pad includes a polishing pad substrate; a first protrusion on the polishing pad substrate, the first protrusion including a central region and a peripheral region surrounding the central region, and a first hardness of the central region being greater than a second hardness of the peripheral region; and a first groove adjacent a first side of the first protrusion.

COATED ABRASIVES HAVING A PERFORMANCE ENHANCING COMPOSITION
The present disclosure relates generally to coated abrasive articles that include a tribological performance enhancing composition in a make coat, a size coat, a supersize coat, or combinations thereof, as well as methods of making coated abrasive articles. The present disclosure also relates to coated abrasive articles including a supersize coating comprising a sulfide scavenging composition and/or a crosslinked zinc acrylic binder, as well as methods for making and using such abrasive articles. The present disclosure also relates generally to abrasive articles that include aggregates having an anti-wear composition or grinding aid disposed on or within the aggregates.
FLEXIBLE ABRASIVE ARTICLE WITH IMAGE LAYER
An abrasive article having a removable support sheet having a first major surface. An image layer containing inks applied over the first major surface. A polyurethane backing layer having a first major backing surface located adjacent to the image layer and a second major backing surface opposite the first major surface. A functional layer comprising an abrasive layer applied to the second major surface; the abrasive layer comprising a make coat, abrasive particles and a size coat.
EMBEDDED ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT IN GRINDING WHEELS AND METHODS OF EMBEDDING
A bonded abrasive wheel is disclosed comprising a plurality of abrasive particles disposed in a binder, a first grinding surface, a second surface opposing the first grinding surface, and an outer circumference. The wheel comprises a rotational axis extending through a central hub and a circuit configured as a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) unit coupled to the abrasive wheel. The circuit comprises an antenna configured to communicate with one or more external devices and comprising a first end and a second end, wherein antenna has a radius of curvature about an axis along at least a portion thereof such that the first end is disposed adjacent to but is spaced from the second end, and an integrated circuit (IC) operably coupled to the antenna and configured to store at least a first data.
