The ozone intake ports are fluidically coupled to one or more ozone output ports of one or more ozone supply units. The manifold includes a plurality of flow switches configured to transmit control signals to one or more controllers of each ozone supply unit in response to sensing a flow of water through the fluid paths in order to cause the ozone supply units to generate ozone. The manifold also includes a plurality of fluid mixers that are fluidically coupled to the ozone intake ports and configured to introduce the ozone generated by the ozone supply units into the water flowing through the fluid paths.

A fluid injection system is a system that enables the automatic mixing and dispensing of select additives to desired output locations. The system may include at least one supply line, at least one pumping mechanism, at least one injection assembly, and a base controller. The at least one supply line carries the supply flow from a supply source for the mixing and the distribution of the selected additives to the desired output locations. The at least one pumping mechanism facilitates the injection of the additives to the supply flow being carried by the at least one supply line. The at least one injection assembly enables the introduction of the combined additives into the supply flow via the at least one pumping mechanism. Finally, the base controller monitors the injection of the right amounts of additives as well as the correct combination of the additives being injected into the supply flow.

The barrier is capable of preventing the aqueous fluid from entering the second reservoir portion from the first reservoir portion. The tube is disposed near the barrier, and the tube has a microfluidic channel. The indexer guides the aqueous fluid and the organic fluid into the microfluidic channel so as to form droplets of the aqueous fluid.

METHOD OF PERFORMING DROPLET-BASED ASSAYS

Method of analysis. In the method, a first emulsion and a second emulsion substantially separated from one another by a spacer fluid may be formed. The first emulsion, the spacer fluid, and the second emulsion may be flowed in a channel from a fluid inlet to a fluid outlet of a heating and cooling station having two or more temperature-controlled zones, such that each emulsion is thermally cycled to promote amplification of a nucleic acid target in droplets of the emulsion. Amplification data may be collected from individual droplets of each emulsion downstream of the heating and cooling station. A level of the nucleic acid target present in each emulsion may be determined based on the amplification data collected from the individual droplets of the emulsion.
