Sustainable Aquaponic System and Method for Growing Useful Plants and for Treating Gray Water
A system and method of sustainable aquaponics that vertically integrates unique aquaponic system designs with alternative aquaculture fish feed sources, fingerling production methods, alternative aquaculture/farmed fish grow out models, and green energy sources that yield organic produce in the form of fruits and vegetables. A raceway system serves as the hub for grow-out throughout the warm and cold months. During the summer months, fish can be spawned and fed for steady growth, while during the winter months, the fish continue to grow at slower quite acceptable growth rates. Plants like legal (licensed) cannabis for medical use can be grown in plant areas near the raceways with very high yields. The system may also be used to reclaim gray water using the biology of the system to purify it for agricultural use.
Microenvironment for efficient uptake of fertilizers and other agrochemicals in soil
The present invention provides a bead comprising: i) an external zone comprising a super absorbent polymer (SAP) that is capable of absorbing at least about 5 times its weight in water, surrounding ii) at least one internal zone comprising a core that contains at least one agrochemical, wherein the external zone is permeable to oxygen when hydrated, or the internal zone is formulated to release the at least one agrochemical into the external zone over a period of at least about one week when the hydrogel of the external zone is hydrated. The present invention also provides methods of using beads of the invention.
SOLUTION CULTIVATION METHOD FOR LOW POTASSIUM VEGETABLE, LOW POTASSIUM VEGETABLE AND CULTIVATION DEVICE
In a solution cultivation method for a low potassium vegetable, an entire cultivation period from seeding to harvesting is divided into a first cultivation period and a second cultivation period depending on the vegetable to be cultivated. In the first cultivation period, the vegetable is cultivated in a first culture solution containing a first fertilizer for solution cultivation which contains potassium. In the second cultivation period, the vegetable is cultivated in a second culture solution containing a second fertilizer for solution cultivation which does not substantially contain potassium. During the second cultivation period, an air flow is applied at a controlled speed to the growing point of the vegetable.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR AGRICULTURE FIELD CLUSTERING AND ECOLOGICAL FORECASTING
A method and system is provided for agriculture field clustering and ecological forecasting. The present application provides a method and system for agriculture field clustering and ecological forecasting based on the clustered agriculture fields, comprises capturing an absolute ground data representing a plurality of field measurements of the agriculture fields; capturing a plurality of weather conditions of the agriculture fields; generating a feature set comprising of said absolute ground data and weather data of the agriculture fields; adaptively clustering the plurality of agriculture fields based on the feature set to generate a cluster; generating a generic forecasting model for ecological forecasting comprising of common features of the feature set in said cluster; selecting at least one feature out of the feature set for generating a plurality of adaptive forecasting model based for ecological forecasting and recommending control measures to a user.
Apparatus, system and method for monitoring plants
The present invention relates to an apparatus, system and method for monitoring plant. A sensor means can be adapted for receiving plant growth information of the plant being received inside a container. An indicating means can be adapted for indicating information of the plant growth information. A wireless communication means can be adapted for transmitting the plant growth information to an external device. A control means can select a working mode of the indicating means and the wireless communication means. Through the cooperative effect of the sensor means, the storage means, the indicating means and the wireless communication means, operators do not have to take along with instruments to perform measurement reading of the on-site plant growth information at a regular time, thereby saving labor cost and time cost of monitoring the plant growth information and improving efficiency of plant monitoring.
VEGETATED ROOF SYSTEM
Embodiments of the present invention include a green roof system that includes a tray or array of trays designed to work in a drip irrigation system. The tray frame preferably has an open bottom covered by a filter fabric.
PLANT DORMANCY CONTROL SYSTEM
A dormancy control system for use with plants such as fruit trees, nut trees, and perennial berry bushes planted in commercial settings. The dormancy control system employs vertical shade structures to control the dormancy of plants such as fruit trees, nut trees, and perennial berry bush crops. The dormancy control system results in dramatic increases in crop yield, and may be coupled with orchard planting directional orientation, evaporative cooling systems, and chemical and hormone based spray applications
OPEN PLANT CULTIVATION DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PREPARING THE SAME
An open plant cultivation device has a container, a medium layer, a plant, and a separation layer. The container has an inner side surface, a sterile accommodation space, and an open growing space. The medium layer is disposed in the sterile accommodation space. The separation layer is disposed on the medium layer and adjacent to the inner side surface. The sterile accommodation space and the open growing space are isolated by the separation layer. A method for preparing an open plant cultivation device includes: putting a container in a sterile space; feeding a medium colloid into the container and immersing a part of a plant in the medium colloid; solidifying the medium into a medium layer; disposing a separation layer onto the medium layer to form the open plant cultivation device. The present invention has the open growing space and the effect of protecting the medium layer from contamination.
SQUASH HYBRID SV1118YG AND PARENTS THEREOF
The invention provides seed and plants of squash hybrid SV1118YG and the parent lines thereof. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of squash hybrid SV1118YG and the parent lines thereof, and to methods for producing a squash plant produced by crossing such plants with themselves or with another squash plant, such as a plant of another genotype. The invention further relates to seeds and plants produced by such crossing. The invention further relates to parts of such plants, including the fruit and gametes of such plants.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR GNOTOBIOTIC PLANT GROWTH
The disclosure relates to a plant growth apparatus and related system to grow and maintain plants under controlled biotic conditions, for example to grow axenic (microbe-free) plants, gnotobiotic (defined microbiota) plants, and holoxenic (complex, or undefined microbiota) plants. This system allows aseptic bottom irrigation with water, soluble nutrients, chemicals, and/or microbiota. Plants can be inverted for dipping and/or vacuum infiltration. The system also allows for passive (gravity) drainage, thereby allowing for gas exchange and preventing root anoxia. A variety of plant growth substrates can be used within the plant growth apparatus as a plant growth medium. The plant growth apparatus, containing the growth substrate medium, can be completely flushed via the drainage port to remove potential toxic byproducts of the sterilization processes. The entire system is suitably constructed using autoclavable material.
