Alignment Attachment for Screw Gun
20230136712 · 2023-05-04 ·

A tool that mounts on a power driver or other tool for installing framing members in a building ensures proper and uniform spacing of the framing members. A support that may be a C-shaped band clamp removably attaches to the power tool. A generally tubular gauge body snap-attaches in place and a slide member disposed within the gauge body is adjustable to extend a sufficient amount so the combined length of the tubular gauge body and the extended slide member provide a proper spacing for the framing members. A slide lock for holds the slide member at the extended position. This allows the measuring and installation to be done without the installer having to set the power tool down or use a ruler or tape measure once the spacing is established.

Wear resistant tool bit

A tool bit for driving a fastener includes a shank having a tool coupling portion configured to be coupled to a tool. The tool coupling portion has a hexagonal cross-sectional shape. The shank also has a head portion configured to engage the fastener. The head portion is composed of powdered metal (PM) steel having carbide particles distributed uniformly throughout the head portion.

Wrench with Work Piece Locking Mechanism

A wrench may include a head, a drive tang that engages a work piece, a locking detent operably coupled to the drive tang, and a release button configured to control operation of the locking detent. The release button may be movable between a locked position where the locking detent locks the work piece to the drive tang and an unlocked position where the detent permits removal of the work piece from the drive tang. The wrench may also include a slide lock member configured to slide along a second direction between an engaged position and a disengaged position. In the engaged position, the slide lock member may prevent movement of the release button, and, in the disengaged position, the slide lock member may be disengaged from the release button to permit movement of the release button from the locked position to the unlocked position.

TOOL ARRANGEMENT FOR APPLICATION AND/OR RELEASE OF NUT TYPE FASTENERS

Methods and devices for providing a threaded male member for a fastening arrangement are disclosed. The threaded male member can include at least one reaction portion at or towards at least one respective end of the threaded male member for use in reacting applied torque during tightening or releasing an associated nut of the fastening arrangement. The at least one reaction portion can be a permanent feature of the threaded male member and can remain part of the threaded male member after said tightening to a target torque.

IMPACT DRIVING DEVICE WITH OFFSET AXIS TORQUE TRANSFER ASSEMBLY

An impact bit holder may include a drive body having a drive end configured to interface with a powered driver, a driven body having a driven end configured to interface with a bit, and an elastic torque transfer assembly configured to operably couple the drive body to the driven body. The drive body and the driven body share a common axis under a no load condition. The elastic torque transfer assembly may include a coupling protrusion and a coupling channel disposed at a coupling axis offset from the common axis such that the coupling protrusion extends into the coupling channel to operably couple the drive body to the driven body.

Tool attachment for a handheld machine tool

In a tool attachment having an attachment housing on which a fastening interface is situated for fastening to an handheld machine tool, the fastening interface having an angular position setting unit for setting a specified angular position of the tool attachment on the handheld machine tool, and being equipped with a locking unit which, in a locked state, locks the tool attachment for operation on the handheld machine tool in the specified angular position, and, in the unlocked state, makes possible drawing the tool attachment away from the handheld machine tool, the angular position setting unit is operable in the locked state of the locking unit, to enable a change in the specified angular position.

Clench wrench

A clench wrench includes a structure defining a first body defining a handle and a second body integrated with the first body and defining an engaging head respectively. The second body has two opposite sides with one side defining a front side and the other side defining a back side respectively and includes an engaging space. The engaging space extends through the front and back sides, and an opening is defined on both the front and back sides. One of the front and back sides includes a clenching member of a clenching device connected thereto. The clenching member is selectively movable between a first position blocking the opening of the engaging space adjacent to one of the front and back sides and a second position in which the opening of the engaging space adjacent to one of the front and back sides is not blocked.

Monitoring of tool calibration status in automated tool control systems

A calibration monitoring system is provided to automatically monitor the calibration status of tools and other inventory items, such as upon the items being issued from or returned to the automated calibration monitoring system. The system identifies an inventory item, for example a calibrated torque wrench or other calibrated tool identified based on a unique identifying tag attached thereto. The system retrieves a calibration parameter value for the item from a calibration database, and completes a calibration measurement of the item based on the calibration parameter value. In the example, a torque measurement of the calibrated torque wrench can thus be automatically completed. In turn, the system determines a current calibration status of the item based on the calibration measurement, and selectively enables or disables issuance of the inventory item from the system according to the item's status as being in calibration or out of calibration.

POWER TOOL WITH TELESCOPIC OUTPUT SHAFT

A torque delivering power tool with a telescopically arranged output shaft includes a motor, a housing, an input shaft and an output shaft. A sensor is arranged to monitor an axial position of the output shaft with respect to the input shaft. The output shaft is telescopically arranged with respect to the input shaft between a fully extended position (P.sub.E) and a fully compressed position (P.sub.C). A resilient member having a known resilience in function of an extension is arranged to urge the output shaft towards the fully extended position (P.sub.E), such that the extension of the output shaft continuously reflects a compression force acting between the output shaft and the input shaft. An indication unit is arranged to indicate an axial compression force acting between the output shaft and the input shaft based on a level of extension between the shafts.
